Summary: very moving film
Review: I saw the cut down version of this film for british audiences, but it still remained very powerful to me. It made me reflect on bad seasons and good seasons alike, especially the way they were portrayed in the film. Definatley a must for all american football fans as well as people who dont really understand the sport as much as others

Summary: Very average film
Review: I enjoyed this film, but was disappointed in many things. First, it's hard to follow in the beginning, because the camera angle changes too quickly. Second, it's focused too much on life outside of football, and third cause they showed man's best friend. (and I don't mean a dog)

Summary: Puts you on the court
Review: Stone manages with this movie to put his wars on the football field. I have never seen this kind of hardcore action in a sports movie. Stone puts you eye to eye with these monsters and with fast, very fast impressive camera work this is a visually feast. The only thing that pulled the film down a notch was the lack of depth to the characters, which is unusually for Stone.

Summary: Hey, what do you expect?
Review: This is a fun movie. If you're looking for the meaning of life, i don't recommend looking too deeply into this. If you're looking for a good time, this is it. I think it's worth buying this movie to see Lawrence Taylor's performance. It was truly amazing. A lot of people think acting is easy, and think that anyone could do it. This is not true. It takes a lot of work and talent to create a character. Taylor was great, and this guy is a football player. Plus, the shaky football action gave a greats sense of realism though it made me sick.

Summary: Best football movie yet
Review: My husband and I saw this movie in the theaters and vowed to purchase it when available on DVD. After watching several of Stone's latest movies, I was skeptical to see this one. Stone does a marvelous job developing the characters and weaving the plot around them. Obviously, if you are not a football fan, I would not recommend this movie. However, if you have even an ounce of arm-chair quarterback in you, this movie is a definite must see.

Summary: Boring and pointless
Review: I saw this movie because some people told me that I should go see it and I went and saw it and I thought it was the most boring movie ever made. I almost fell asleep during the half of the show. I didn't even like this movie. I think if your a big huge football fan then I guess some of ya'll would probably like it but I don't watch alot of football I guess that's one reason why I couldn't understand it because I don't like football and I guess you have to like football if you want to go see this movie because if you don't like football and went to go see this movie then you will probably fall asleep during the film and that's what I alsmost did.

Summary: Great football movie!
Review: Oliver Stone scored big on this one also. The film is filled with action-packed, hard-core football scenes when not concentrating on character development. The "shaky" camera scenes added to the overall intensity of the film. Al Pacino, Jamie Foxx, LL Cool J, James Woods, Mathew Modine, Cameron Diaz, Bill Bellamy, Dennis Quaid, Lauren Holly, Lawrence Taylor, Jim Brown, Lela Rochon, Ann Margret, Andrew Bryniarski and even Charlton Heston as the Commissioner played their parts to perfection. Inspiring locker-room motivational speeches and on-the-field camera angles made the film seem real-life. If not for the amusing team names and uniform selections, one would believe they were watching clips from a professional football game. Overall, a very entertaining movie, and a must-see for hard-core football fans.

Summary: Boring when not playing football, hard to see when playing f
Review: When it is game time, I could hardly follow the camera becuase it was shaking so much. And when it was off time, the whole thing was boring, I almost fell asleep. The movie didnt seem to have a destination to it. I feel sorry for all the goood actors that had to act in this terrible movie.

Summary: A Gold medal sports movie
Review: I am an american football fan, and there had been a few very good movies made about the sport, namely varisty blues and The Programme(if you enjoyed these you'll live this one).

The film is very good, and has an incredibly strong cast including Al Pacino (the head coach), Dennis Quaid(Quarterback), Cameron Diaz(team owner), and L L Cool J(star running back) and is directed by Oliver Stone (director of Platoon). Any given Sunday is my favourite of Stone's films, a great sports film, but also a good film. The game action is fast and plays in great with the ever present soundtrack that beats into your ear drums(as does the tackles) for hours later.

If you like a good story, any of the actors involved or american football you'll enjoy the film, if not don't bother. Bring on the DVD, and extra's please!
