Summary: Good but xenophobic
Review: Whilst this is a fun filmm watching it recently I was struck by how xenophobic it was. Even now I am tring to work out whether it was actually meant to be toungue-in-cheek or serious. Everyone on the Ruussian side is shown to be almost comically stoic, while all the Americans are all great people.

The one bit I remember best is that when Apollo Creed is fighting Drago in America, Creed i given a huge build up, but Drago just walks on looking a bit confused and being booed by the crowd, yet when the reverse happens in Russia, the commentators are sayiong how disgusting it was. Was this meant to a joke?

Having said all this is is a fun film and definately worth a watch

Summary: Rocky IV: Balboa Vs. Drago
Review: This was an okay sequel. It has new composer Vincent DiCola who directs the score. Anyway, the movie starts out with Apollo Creed(Carl Weathers) who thinks that he can beat 6'4 Russian Boxer Ivan Drago(Dolph Lundgren). Drago has never boxed before. So Rocky(Sylvester Stallone) prepares to be Apollo's manager. At the fight, gets cut deep in the face badly, but Apollo still wants to fight. Then near the end of the second round, Drago kills Apollo in a single punch. Days later, Rocky plans to travel to the Soviet Union to face Drago and to train. Since Mickey or Apollo can't train him, Duke(Tony Burton), Apollo's old trainer, trains him. This was a really entertaining a heart stopping film and I do recommend this.

Summary: The hardest battle ever.
Review: Wow,this is about my 50th time seeing rocky iv.ITs just the best without any question. The risk that rocky took to even fight with the seemingly impossible opponent Ivan Drago. There are some very memarable secens and dialoge in the film.Sunch as when dragos punching power is made, and the scary scene where ivan sais to rocky before their fight,(in a very deep voice)"I must break you."i just couldn get over how rocky actully beat this guy!unfortunetly rocky gets brain damage from the fight..see rocky 5 for the details!(great movie!)

Summary: Time to take inventory...
Review: An opening that shows the ending of the previous flick, then segues into the present- check. A new challenger who's even more dangerous & fearsome than the last one- check. Plenty of training montages with dramatic & inspiring theme music leading up to the bout at the end- check. One of the cast regulars gets his ticket punched to the Great Pugilists' Hereafter- check. Plenty of memorable exchanges of wisecracks- check. Another tense husband-wife shouting match concerning Rocky's career choices- check. Paulie's still a sponging slob, yet retains that curmudgeonly, lovable quality- check. Okay, all the critical elements needed for a "Rocky" sequel are present! We're good to go...

Now we need an audience for the Italian Stallion's biggest and most implausible bout ever. Fortunately, ol' Sly came up with a movie that's got a little something for everyone who's experienced the 80s. There's James Brown's "Living In America" number for the R&B aficionados. Having the champ take it to those Russkie pinkos (well, one Russkie pinko, anyway- and a painfully stoic one at that ) is a lock to bring in the "Rambo" crowd. Better dead than red, you know! And not only does that pseudo-music-video montage of snippets from the previous "Rocky"s attract the MTv generation, it also helps those slower moviegoers & folks who missed the previous installments get back up to speed. And those bits of stock footage go over real well with the budgetary bean-counters in the crowd.

Finally, there's the reason(s) to watch it. For me, it's not the fight scenes, or the training sequences, or the Rocky-Paulie- Adrian family strife. I get more than enough of that from the first three flicks. The reason I tune in is to satisfy one of my fave hobbies: looking for flubs, errors, and other things that seem out-of-place in the movie. And I found a really unusual one her. During the opening shot at Apollo's funeral, the two people standing immediately to the left of the foreground statue have been blurred, kinda like those scenes in COPS where the suspect's face is censored to protect his identity. After seeing this, I logically arrived at the big question... why was this done? Is it some kinda Hollywood conspiracy? The end result of a resolved contract dispute? Just plain spite? If anybody out there knows why this little snippet of thespian anonymity came to be, please give me the lowdown... I worry about too many other stupid and irrelevant things as it is!

Summary: THE GREATEST FILM EVER!!
Review: ROCKY 4 IS THE BEST FILM EVER, COMBINING GREAT ACTING AND BRILLIANT MUSIC. ROCKY FACES HIS TOUGHEST CHALLENGE WHEN HE FACES IVAN DRAGO. ROCKY MUST WIN TO AVENGE HIS FRIEND APOLLO, WHO WAS KILLED IN AN EXHIBITION MATCH AGAINST DRAGO. ROCKY MUST WIN TO AVENGE APOLLO AND FIGHT FOR HIS COUNTRY, IN THIS EAST AGAINST WEST FIGHT. THE TRAINING SCENE IS BY FAR THE BEST SCENE AS ROCKY TRAINS USING NATURAL METHODS WHEN IVAN USES POWERFUL MACHINES AND DRUGS TO ENHANCE HIS PERFORMANCE.CAN ROCKY BEAT THIS MAN? OF COURSE HE CAN. IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THIS FILM I RECOMMEND YOU SEE IT STRAIGHT AWAY.

Summary: The best Rocky film
Review: This movie is a great example of a cold war movie. The great American (Rocky) fights a huge, cold Russian man( Drago played by Dolph Lungren). I loved the way that Rocky trained manually in Russia while Drago trained artificially (injections, etc).

The saddest part of this movie begins when Apollo Creed(Carl Weathers) challenges Drago to a fight. He very arrogantly challenged Drago and expected to beat him. However, it turned out to be the exact opposite. It was very sad to see Apollo fall to the floor face down.

Summary: Rocky is at it again!
Review: Up to this fourth installment of the Rocky series, it seems that Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) has already done it all and has gotten his vengeance and glory in all sorts of manners. However, after his formal rival and now friend Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) gets killed fighting a huge Russian boxer named Drago (Dolph Lundgren), Rocky is at it again with the vengeance and revenge to fight Drago for killing his friend, Apollo Creed.

"Rocky IV" is just as exciting and just as action packed as any of the other Rocky movies. Once again, Sylvester Stallone did a great job of directing and acting in "Rocky IV." The movie's music and Rocky's spirit is inspirational and even up to this day, remains one of the great movies of the 80s, and one of the best of its kind period. If you like great action movies and especially if you liked the other Rocky movies, I recommend getting "Rocky IV."

Summary: DON'T TAKE IT SERIOUSLY
Review: Rocky 4 is not as good as 1&2 but superior to 3&5. A good movie to watch for the entertainment but check your brain at the door. The soundtrack is top notch!!
