Summary: A Real Tearjerker.
Review: I loved this film from start to finish. I just bought the DVD from Amazon and it played all the way through, no problem. I was a little worried when I ordered it because I read the other customer's reviews and had problems with the DVD being defective. I first saw this film in 1996 when I was 11 when I missed it on TV and I rented it from the video store. I liked the part where the Champ (Jon Voight) gave T.J. (Ricky Schroder) the horse and it touched my heart. The part in scene 17 where Annie (Faye Dunaway) reveals to T.J. that she is his mother is a little disturbing. There is a little foul language in it, but other than that it is a great film for the family.

When you watch this film, don't forget the Kleenex box and this is one of the films that really made me cry. I recommend this film to everyone!

Summary: This is definately a classic....
Review: I remember when I saw this movie for the first time. I was 8 years old and it was the first time I ever cried at a movie. It was the first time I ever felt totally affected by a movie. At that time they passed out promotional buttons when you left the theater that said "I saw the Champ". I wore it everyday for a week. Ricky Schroeder steals the movie from all the adults in this movie (you can't take your eyes off of him). He gave a performance that is to this day unmatched by a child his age (yes, better than the kid from the Sixth Sense). I am so glad it has come out on DVD WITH extras! I have preordered 3 copies (for myself and my friends who don't know how awesome this movie is). I can't wait until they come.

Summary: Tear Jerker
Review: I was 13 when I saw this film the first time in a movie theater-I cried. I saw it again on video 15 years later and cried even harder. I've seen it several times since and guess what-I still cried. I don't whatch movies more than once but this one has something that I am drawn to. Little Ricky Schroder is adorable throughout the movie. Jon Voight and Faye Dunaway are fantastic. The overall tone of the movie is sad-unfortunately this could be any childs life. If you are aware of addiction and the behaviors that go along with it-you will ralate. Get a box of kleenex, curl up and be glad your life isn't like this.

Summary: Jon Voight finest hours and greatest movie.A true Classic.
Review: I was very young(9) when I first saw this film. I am 32 now and still cry throughout almost the entire film. Ricky Schroder was adorable and Jon Voight is still one of my favorite older actors to this day. Faye Dunaway was classic. This movie deals with real-life issues that can happen to anyone (gambling, divorce etc) Watch it and don't forget the Kleenex!

Summary: I Liked This Movie!
Review: I watched The Champ on video or HBO sometime in the 1980's and I thought it was a good movie and the acating from Jon Voight and Rick Shroder was great and I highly recommend this movie! I know that this movie was a remake of an older movie starring Wallace Beery and Jackie Cooper but I never saw the old movie but would like to someday because I saw them in Treasure Island which was great so Maybe I can catch their version of The Champ when it's being shown on TCM.

Summary: Heart warming, heart breaking.
Review: It has been many years scince I saw this movie, but the plot has stuck with me. An ex-boxer (John Voight) tries to win the heart of his son (Ricky Schroeder) by returning to the ring, and inadvertently wins back the heart of his ex-wife (Fay Dunaway). Ricky Schroeder's performance will rip your heart out.

Summary: One of the Biggest film of the century
Review: It's defineitely one of the best films i've ever seen in decades. I was 24 when i've watched it and I can still recall in my mind the scenes from the movie. I've been longing to have a VCD copy of this one. If you can help me find one, I would be very grateful. I would like my kids to see this film. It will be quite a while before we can see another one of this kind. If you can't be moved by this movie , I guess you're not human. No matter how hard your heart is, I'm betting my life you're gonna cry your heart out. Please help me purchase a VCD copy of this movie. Please, please, please....

Review: Look no further than this movie!

What Haley Joel Osmond was to "The Sixth Sense", Rick Schroder was to "The Champ"... even more so in my opinion. Despite great performances by John Voight and Faye Dunaway, Schroder carries this film. When folks speak of how much a tear-jerker this movie is... I believe they are speaking of little Ricky's performance at the very end.. a scene which will no doubt leave anyone in tears.

This is definitely an "old school" movie... with less action than dialogue. And despite the fact that Schroder's dialogue is a little too sophisticated for an 8 year-old to give realistically, this is a fabulous movie.
