Summary: De Niro...Pesci...SCORSESE...highlight of all 3 careers
Review: Jake La Motta (De Niro)is a boxer from New York. His brother (Pesci)manages him, and hangs out with local mobsters. Cathy Moriarty id La Motta's main love interest, unfortunately, he has a wife. La Motta's boxing career grows, as does his love life with his girlfriend. He wins match after match, until the only person that will fight him is Sugar Ray. At this point, everything is perfect. He is now married to Moriarty, and he and his brother are getting rich. Then, everything goes wrong. His wife starts fooling around, his brother gets in fights with mobsters, and La Motta's career is going down the tubes. La Motta's life is boxing. It's how he runs his life without going crazy. Scorsese, (before deciding to be a director, he wanted to be a priest) shows La Motta accounting for the bad things in his lfe in the ring. When his life is going downhill, he can be fighting like a champion, but when everything is perfect, he can be beaten by anyone. Incredible performances by everyone. Moriarty makes an incredible debut, loving De Niro, in his best role. Pesci almost steals the spotlight, and Frank Vincent turns in a great performance as always.

Review: I heard things, Joey...I heard things....I heard that this is a great movie!!! Wow!!! The fights are incredibly provocative, DeNiro is a God in this movie, Pesci is hysterically funny as usual, and Martin Scorsese has once again made a movie masterpiece of raw power and incredible story telling! A MUST BUY!!!

Review: Raging Bull is the film based on the autobiography by formermiddle-weight champion Jake La Motta. Jake La Motta is a visiousfighter who was renowned for his powerful punches, which gave him the name "The Raging Bull". He is also a very jealous man who often assumes that his wife is having affaires with several men. This makes him an angry violent man which costs him the love of his wife and his brother. Robert De Niro plays the part of La Motta with sheer excellence and Joe Pesci as his brother is just as good.This is simply one of the best films money can buy. Get it and watch it again and again. A KNOCK OUT.

Review: this movie has all the ingredients of great filmaking. first, the cast is superb. the underated cathy moriaty and joe pesci are excelllent in their supporting roles while deniro is in his prime. second, if you enjoy historically correct biographies this movie is a winner. the attention to detail is astounding, from the clothing to the automobiles. third, the black and white cinematography is breath-taking w/ it use of shadows and smoke. finally, although the casual viewer might see this film to be about boxing, i see a more profound storyline. this film is about a one-dimensional person who has great athletic gifts but lack social skills and self-confidence. so much so that he drives away the only people that love him and that deserve his trust. ultimately, this man ends up like a fish out of water (once his boxing career has ended), financially-strapped and lonely. this is one of my favorite movies. i highly recommend it.

Review: Undoubtedly one of the strongest dramas I have ever seen, Robert DeNiro vividly and memorably portrays Jake "Raging Bull" LaMotta. Remaing lovable despite his boorishness, Jake stumbles from one desperate situation to another, having troubles with his wife, having troubles with his brother, and, more importantly, having troubles with himself. His rise and fall are depicted through the use graphic boxing matches and brutal beatings...either of himself or his opponent. DeNiro lives up to his normal standard as being one of the best actors of his generation.
