Summary: Awful script
Review: Many of my fellow reviewers pay close attention to the message of love in the film. That's a good thing, but there are many better films out there that are about Christian values without relying on an awful script. Once you've caught the idea that Joshua is guess who, watching the movie fills you with dread as to how the film makers are going to exploit this awful and cynical idea for the sake of Christian values. I guess that's my main complaint: it's a film that cynically uses its premise to sell itself and its movieland version of religion and love.

Summary: enjoyment depends on if you read the book
Review: If you read the book...don't watch the movie. You'll spend the entire time noticing how different it is from the book. There are very few similarities, and the things that are similar do not go in the same order as the book.I read the book and saw the movie. I like the movie, but not until several days after i saw it. the message is still good, but not as good as the book.

Summary: Joshua
Review: For a movie that was not "big time", I was amazed at the number of familiar faces who took part to create this truly inspiring movie! Based on the book by Joseph Girzone, Joshua is an uplifting, heartfelt, humourous presentaion about a lone man who comes to a small town and changes everyone's perspective on love. Through supernatural acts, he causes an uprise in the local church that reaches all the way to Rome. Well acted and well written, I recommend Joshua to anyone who needs a boost of encouragement, hope, and love. Definately one for the records, AND for my DVD collection.

Review: A highly engaging movie that lifts the spirit. An intelligent, thoughtful movie that delivers an awesome message without trying too hard, as so many do. I plan to buy a copy for every family that is part of my Christmas circle....I hope you do too.

Review: It was refreshing to see this movie...if you compare Joshua to 99 percent of the [stuff] that is out there, you would agree.

Review: Joshua is another example of a film made by Christians that is laughed at in the mainstream community. We Christians have lowered our standards so much that we accept movies like this as "good," even though if we saw them in the theater as a regular movie we would be disappointed. If you want a decent movie made by Christians, check out Hometown Legend. Great values, but not cheesy like Joshua, Left Behind, etc..

Review: I collect very few movies, but this is a must for me to have. If you know nothing about the movie, surprise yourself and watch this one. :)

Review: This was a wonderful movie! I cannot say enough. It reminds us what we are supposed to be like ALL THE TIME! Encouragers, not fault finders. Loving & compassionate. It will make you look at a total stranger like the pastor "Theo" and weep with love for a brother or sister. You don't have to know them to love them. It is the only way we thumbsuckers can get to heaven! In His love,

Summary: Nice try, but not Biblically Sound
Review: My biggest problem with the movie is that Joshua (the Jesus Christ character)agrees to make an idol-statue of the apostle, Peter, for the local Catholic church. I realize that the original book was written by a priest, but it's still not Biblically sound.
I seriously doubt that if Jesus Christ came to earth now, He would willingly make an idol for people to worship. He didn't do it while He was here the first time, and besides He would be breaking the Commandment "You shall not make any idols." (Exodus 20:4)
The story line is pretty good, and the acting is OK. But I was disappointed all together with the movie and it's lack of Biblical integrity concerning our Savior Jesus Christ.

Summary: ENTERTAINMENT IN A VOID
Review: I will be the first to say that too much of today's entertainment is tied to mindless violence and questionable morals....however, if this is to be an example of what we should have in it's place, well, no thanks. It's about as bloodless as a mannequin with as much personality.
