Summary: Just another rendition of the greatest story ever told.
Review: This version of the life of Christ is a bit flashy, There is falseness such as conversations with Satan & his alter ego the Great Harlot. Although this movie is just another altered version of the good book it should move you in someway closer to Jesus. I gave it 3 stars because they added and took from the bible, however the message still remains the same. Sisto did a fine job and played his part emotionally however there were things in this movie that I believe Jesus did not do or say. As a Christian I recommend the 1979 version of Jesus to non-belivers and the saved alike because it is probably the most accurate crossover of the bible.

Summary: A Jesus Who Can't Figure Out Who He Is?
Review: Yeah, yeah, I've read all the positive reviews about how this Jesus is more human, easier to relate to, etc. Give me a break! The Jesus portrayed here is some kind of watered down "nice guy" who doesn't offend modern T.V. audiences -- the same kind of Jesus you find in far too many modern churches these days. He's not the real Jesus, he's somebody that liberal America created in their own image. What we have here is a Jesus who isn't really sure that he is the son of God(? ) and can't quite figure out his purpose and mission! Huh? His disciples have a better clue as to what's going on than he does! In other words, this is a Jesus who isn't going to force American audiences to challenge their status quo. And that is precisely why this turkey of a movie falls flat on it's face. The REAL JESUS actually managed to offend a whole lot of people (and not just the political leaders) because he DID challenge the status quo. Why do you think that even the common folks voted to kill him? And by the way, here's another reality check for you all -- the REAL JESUS was Jewish, not a blue-eyed European! I recommend you pass on this politically correct travesty and read the book instead.

Summary: What happened?
Review: When the previews began airing on TV, I thought this would be an excellent new Jesus film to add to my collection. However as I began to watch the film, it became apparent This was not a movie I desired to own. Jesus' uncertainty as of his mission, his mother practically goading him into doing it. John's question to Jesus about did he repent of his sins, was just too much. The many "liberties" that were taken of the scriptures. Actually untruths would be better. However it was not all bad though. Jesus' temptation in the wilderness and his prayer in the garden were extremely good, but not good enough to justify the rest of the movie though. Two words "Extremely Disappointed"

Summary: god showing us a way to go
Review: i seen thid movie and i even recorded it! sisto is a good actor but id agree about what some other people have said about if because in the movie jesus acted as if he didnt know what was going on.? but i liked when satan tempted him not to go thruogh what he has to do.satan was good.but the most showable error in the movie a BLOOP** was when they crucified him they did it through the wrists, they showed that but when he shuws his diciples later on they are in his hand how did that happen? but even though it had its flaws every movie does.it was excelente.

Summary: For the first time our family felt Jesus pain
Review: We now have a wonderful Christian video to share with friends and neighbors that is not "preachy" nor boring and is interesting to nonChristians as well. Also a tool for grandma to view and discuss (over cookies & milk) with her age six and over grandkids. We used the Bible, especially the book of Luke to verify the facts in this warm and educational film.

Summary: BEST REPRESENATION OF JESUS WE GOT
Review: This is without a doubt the greatest film about Jesus I have ever seen. Although a few events are out of place, this DVD depicts the very essence of who Jesus really was. Great for the WHOLE family!

Summary: Jesus. . . who he really was!
Review: "Jesus" is [I think] the best film ever made about The Son of God. It shows what he had to go through and how he won over Satan. Although it is not word for word with the Bible, the essance is kept true. I would recomend this film for any one who does not no the Jesus as their Lord and hasn't asked him into their hearts.

If you don't no Jesus, then you need this DVD or video.

Summary: THE BEST MOVIE ABOUT JESUS!
Review: I think this movie is absolutly great. It brought tears to my eyes. Seeing Jesus splashing water with the Disciples and playing around with everybody was wonderful. All the other movies about Jesus are good, but they don't show him acting like you or me. Sisto did a great job portraying Jesus. He did a great job through out the whole movie. I think everybody should get this movie when it is released. You will cry and will have a great feeling watching it. I cannot wait to own my original copy. Jesus is a surpurb movie.

Summary: A Movie For All Us JESUS Fans.
Review: I thought this movie was really worth watching. It shows the human side of Jesus, his mistakes, his wants, his temptations, etc. This was the most graphic JESUS movie I have ever seen. Very bloody, cruel and heartbreaking. I thought the character of Satan was done with a lot of creativity and imagination. I intend to purchase this video when it's available.

Summary: A different point of view
Review: This movie is not your average portrayal of the gospels. Christ's human side is brought out more, and I think it really reflects how much he really loved everyone. He's not portryed so much as a holy figure, but a man who is warm and caring and fun. However, I think they took a little too many liberties. The Jesus in this film acts like he has no idea what is going on, and it's his mother who is instructing him on what to do, not God. Some times he even acts like a happy-go-lucky, fun-loving guy...he's even giddy at times. But, other than that, I think the way Christ is portrayed gives us a better view on his human side. Sisto's acting is pretty good, although at times it sounds like he's reading his lines right off of a script. The movie is accurate in the crucifixion, however, and shows some scenes that aren't showed in other Jesus films, like him walking on the water or the wedding, where he turned water in to wine. Another brilliant point, I think, is how they showed the conflict of Christ in the garden with Satan, and Satan is trying to convince Christ not to go through the crucifixion. It really brings out his uncertainty and fear of what he has to go through. I think this is a very good Jesus movie for this millenium, and is very worthwhile to watch.
