Summary: The True Meaning Of Islam
Review: An absoloutly outstanding movie!!!! Hollywood and the media have unfortunatly shown the negative side of islam.. if you really want to know the true meaning of this pure and peacful religon then you must watch this. Words can not describe the wonderful feeling that grows inside you for those who have done all they can to insure that the messege of our lord reaches all of us, regardless of our race, religon, sex, beliefs, we are all one. Whether or not you are a muslim, you will enjoy this movie because for those who are muslims, they will be reminded of the beauty and purpose of there beliefs and for those are not they will better understand us and respect us the same way we respect them.

Summary: Important to understanding Islam
Review: I am a Christian who grew up in a Muslim country (Pakistan) and I REALLY enjoyed this movie. It gave me an understanding of Mohammed and Islam that I lacked while I was growing up. If you ever wanted to know why Mecca and Medina are important to Muslims or what Mohammed really did, you should watch this movie. It won't convert you to Islam, but it will give you a better understanding of the religion and some of its history. HOWEVER - here is the bad news - the fact that the camera is never allowed to show Mohammed is (in my opinion) a serious negative. If I wasn't interested in Islam and its history, I would not want to watch this movie. You could make the arguement that Jesus is portrayed too much in movies, but to watch a movie where you can't see the main character is annoying. Okay, now that I got past that unpleasantness, I still give the movie 4 stars because I did enjoy it. I suppose most devout Muslims have already seen this movie, but I would strongly suggest that Christians and other Westerners also watch it to get a better understanding of Islam. Jeremy

Summary: One of the Greatest Movies of All Times
Review: I have seen this movie at least a dozen times. If anyone would like to get a good depiction of the evolution of Islam in it's early years, this is a greatest motion picture to view.

The Production Company: Anchor Bay Entertainment is the ONLY motion picture production studio company that has invested in making religious/spiritual pictures about the world of Islam. Hollywood has produced movies about Christianity, and Judaism, but no movie has come out of Hollywood about Islam. The fact that 25% of the worlds population are followers of Islam (so, the viewing market is definitely there) has not convinced Hollywood to make movies about Islam. YET, there has been many movies made about the Jewish religion (Judaism holds about 0.5% of worlds population). I live in the U.S. and believe that all major religions are pure and beautiful in their core. The Message is a wonderful, informative movie that must bee seen by anyone who wants to learn about Islam. I think that Hollywood is Kafar. Kafar is an Arabic word and it means: The one that sees the good and tries to cover it or not show it. These are my personal opinions about the movie and Hollywood's lack of attention to over one billion Muslims on earth.

Also, the director Moustapha Akkad has another film by Anchor Bay Entertainment called Lion of the Desert (1979). That is also a great movie, Akkad teams up with Anthony Quinn to tell the impressive epic story of a great Libyan religious freedom fighter called Omar Mukhtar. See that movie too.

Summary: Brilliant movie about Islam birth, a must see.
Review: This epic feature tells us in a very catching three hours movie, the story of Islam birth from the fourtieth anniversary of the prophet Mohammed to his death. People who already know the story will find an emotional graphic illustration of an extraordinary human achievement, those who'll come across it for the first time will learn how this misunderstood religion came in a humanitarian message to free the minds of mankind. The historic references are very accurate and the soundtrack written by the maestro Maurice Jarre is stunning. A piece of art that anyone desiring to understand Islam in an entertaining way must enjoy.

Summary: A Poignant portrayl of the birth of ISLAM
Review: I am a moslem and I saw this movie as a kid. This movie helped me to see the birth of my faith in a clear perspective. This movie is an eye opener for all bigots, moslem and non-moslem alike. It propagates universal values of equality(Hazrat Bilal despite being a black negro slave was chosen by the holy prophet as the first man to recite the moslem call to prayer.). This movie also dispells the sadly popular notion that Islam is a violent and intolerant faith. This is truly a great film and I would recommend it to people of all faiths..

Summary: The Greatest Film Ever Made About Islam...
Review: Moustapha Al-Aqaad is a directing genius. Anthony Quinn, an acting legend. Islam's history on-screen? Breath-takingly fantastic! I watched this movie three times on tape already, but I had to buy the DVD when I knew about its release! I bet that if the film were to be re-released again in cinema theaters, it would top the world's blockbuster charts! All in all, this film is a MUST SEE for EVERYONE! Action and Drama go hand in hand in a harmonious way throughout the movie. So if you didn't buy it yet, what are you waiting for?! Get the DVD! :-)
