Summary: I am totally blown away.
Review: This movie bears repeated watching. I watched it again this Easter and it truly is an awesome movie - and awesome experience. Now I consider this film as the best movie ever made and count it among the greatest works of art of all time - among the likes of Rembrandt's late paintings, Michalangelo's Renaissance sculptures, J.S. Bach's music, Shakespeare's writings, etc.

Among all the movies I have seen, I cannot recommend any movie more highly than this 1976 production.

Summary: The most powerfull religious video in recent history
Review: This video is the most well made and non- romanticized version of the story of Jesus Christ and his times in history. It is well acted with a phylanthra of top of the line "stars". Many of them are faces that you have been surrounded by all your life. This video is a deal at any price!

Summary: Beautiful! The Gospels come to Life before Your Very Eyes
Review: I must agree with "a viewer from Bermuda" which is my mother's birthplace, that this film is fabulously done and renews my faith as a born-again believer! I highly recommend this production of the life of Jesus to ANYONE! From those who study His life intensely to those who know nothing about Him. This film does an excellent job of portraying the humanity and divinity of Jesus simultaneously. I must say that Robert Powell was so riveting as Jesus that at times I forgot that this was an actor and not Christ Himself. Michael York, Olivia Hussey, Anne Bancroft were equally as great in their parts, but for me James Farantino's portrayal of Simon Peter was the highlight for me! Also Ian McShane did an excellent job of bringly depth and humanity to Judas Iscariot. I HIGHLY recommend this movie for anyone who wants to gain a fuller understand of who Jesus was and is and a broader understanding of the Jesus, the Hebrew people and their culture!

Review: This film is very touching, the best you can get to the real experience. As a born again Christian it renews my faith in Jesus Christ and encourages me to keep living for him.

Summary: Jesus of liquid beauty
Review: Is just horrible, the unique point of the film is the cast, not even the Jesus sacrefice. The sacrefice is for the director like a walk into a park. Jesus talks allways like a powerfull prophet (but Christ was bethween the simple mind peole, wasn't he?) not like a man with people. All in the film is beautiful, but beauty outside is not sufficent to analyze the figure of Christ.

Summary: Profoundly Excellent.
Review: As an atheist, I should stay away from this movie, however I cannot get enough of it. The best movie ever about the man. Brilliantly directed and acted. Astounding cinematography and casting. A must for all people of all ages, cultures, and religions.

Summary: The Best Story of Jesus I've Seen
Review: This movie was the best portrayal of Jesus that I have ever seen. I like the rest of the movies as well, however, most of the other actors never show emotion. In this movie, Robert Powell portrays Jesus as the man he was, full of emotion, happy, sad, angry, reflective, etc. I have watched this movie no less than 30 times, and get butterflies every single time John the Baptist is baptizing people, and Jesus walks up to him. That first shot of Him moves me. Definitely the one to own, and watch over and over, not just at Easter or Christmas, but anytime your soul needs to be renewed in the promise of Christ, and the gift that God gave to you and me.

Summary: The best Gospel movie ever made.
Review: I think this movie may be the premier example of religious art in the 20th century.

First it is a beautiful movie to look at. Wonderfully and faithfully set and photographed, it contains wealth of details about the time and place. At the same time certain scenes of the movie is highly reminicent of Renaissance masterpiece paintings echoing the rich religious traditions of Western Europe. Secondly and more importantly, the movie stays faithful to the spirit of Gospel messages while illuminating the political reality and religious questions of the time. Through masterful story telling, the movie follows the main events from Gospel accounts while vividly illustarting the messages of Jesus. Whether one is a Christian believer or not, viewers should get some idea why and how this lone Galilean with no wealth, no social standing, and no political power ended up changing the course of human history.

Barring a time travel to Judea in AD 1-33, this movie may be the next best thing to experience what happened there.

Summary: You will be moved by this re-enactment.
Review: This epic captures the life and times of JESUS better than any I have seen to date. Although there are long periods of silence throughout the film, and Powell appears a bit weak and slow to respond at times, it makes an excellent attempt to tell the story with very believable, although sometimes embellished, human settings and responses. The passion is particularly human and emotionally powerful. The singing and dancing at the Last Supper, combined with the scenes with Judas and the high priests, the denial and repentance of Peter, and the reactions of the soldiers, the crowds, and Jesus' mother Mary at the cross are magnificently acted and seeringly realistic. This video should be shown on Palm Sunday or Easter every year. There is none better.

Summary: THE ONLY TRULY ANOINTED "JESUS" MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN.
Review: Not really a review, but this is the absolutely most Spirit-of-God Anointed movie about the life of Christ ever. I LOVE THIS MOVE. I have to have a new "dose" of this movie every few months. EVERYONE SHOULD SEE THIS AT LEAST ONCE.
