Summary: One Of The Best Gang/NY Films Ever!!!!!!
Review: I have always been into films based in NY and Films about gangs. Over the last few years there really hasn't been any good gang films until now I place Deuces Wild high on my list of top five gang films probobly at number three the other four being "The Wanderers","The Warriors" "The Lords Of Flatbush"([junky] movie but it was filmed down the block from where I lived in Queens), and "The Outsiders". Stephen Dorff plays Leon the leader of a Gang called "The Deuces" who after the death of his brother dedicates himself to cleaning up his block, and getting rid of the hookers, the drugs, and the pushers. Threw out the course of the film Leon has to Battle two rival gangs, and the mob from moving in on his turf. Stephen Dorff gives the most brilliant performance to date, along with the rest of the cast that is made up of allot of the Soprano's cast members and allot of up and coming young actors The Fight scene's are very realistic, and the set designers, and clothing designers really captured the feel of the 50's. Go check this movie out it's worth the 9.50 I saw it two nights in a row because I couldn't believe how good it was, and will probobly will go back to see it again. So stop reading this and go see the movie.

Review: I loved Deuces Wild. The cast was out-standing and it was well-written. It didn't leave out the little and most important things that most movies do. It really captured the street gangs of the 50's. It left me on the edge of my seat at times and other times I wanted to cry. The only thing I would've changed is made some of the bad guys, good guys because you never want a cute guy to be a bad guy. I recommend this movie to anyone and everyone!

Summary: Disappointed in the Music.....
Review: I recently watched this movie but was disappointed because it was too fast paced (I had a little trouble keeping up with who's who)and I expected to hear more 50's songs which would have set the movie era much more than it did.
I didn't even recognize most of the instrumental songs that played. They did play only 3 or 4 50's songs throughout the entire movie.
The movie itself, was okay. It really needed a better Soundtrack to convince me it was set in the 50's though!.

Review: i thought this movie was cool. i totally wanted to see it because i was attracted to the films' wonderful ensemble cast. it was said to be like 'west side story' excluding the musical portion. but i had doubts considering it was opening against probably one of the biggest box offices hits for the next couple years (spider-man), i thought maybe it would be a flop. anyway, i sat in the theatre loving every minute. the acting was great, the action/suspense was well handed and the description and portral of the 1950's was great as well. although the movie had its cliched moments it was still certainly entertaining. i walked out thinking i had viewed a great movie, at least in opinion. came home and read some online reviews and they were all horribly and utterly the wost reviews of the year. everyone hated it. thats when i decided 'f--- these people'. i have one thing to say to anyone who is reading this: think for yourself. i hate critics. who gave these people badges to criticize art. these little reviews in newspapers are their own stupid (whether positive or negative) views on a film. in the past i have wanted to see movies and when they were released they were bashed and i decided not to see them. a year goes by and the said film is released on dvd and i decide to give it a whirl. turns out to be a kick a-- movie. when ever i read or hear bad things about a movie/book/music i always try to give it a chance and check it out for myself. i, here and now, recommend to abolish critics! i think reviews, especially in newspapers, should be changed to reviews from the people, not some "artsy", slick, hollywood, i-know-good-movies-when-i-see-them jerks. peace

Summary: The Best Greaser Gang Movie Ever
Review: I was blown away by this movie! It is so realistic, and the historical view of gangs in the 50s is dead on. Me being a second generation greaser from a big city, I could really appreciate and identify with this movie because there were things in the movie that were similiar to what my dad always told me being a greaser was like back then. I have always been into these films because they represent the culture I grew up around. I would recommend this film to anyone into the 50's,or greaser

gangs.

Summary: Great cast, poor writing!
Review: I was looking forward to seeing this movie because of its all-star cast, but I was disappointed by the film's poor writing. The storyline was extremely cliched and predictable, as was the dialogue. It seems like the writer of Deuces Wild took every greaser movie cliche you've ever seen and rolled it into one script.

On top of that, the attempts at New York accents were not very accurate.

Renfro and Balk are the film's one bright spot, their characters seem to have a little more depth than the others, and they have good on-screen chemistry. Renfro is believable and sweet as a well-meaning guy who is torn between loyalty to his brother (who is leader of the neighborhood gang) and asserting his independence by courting the girl he loves (who just so happens to be the sister of the gang's rival)

Balk is charming as a sensitive girl pretending to be a "tough city chick" meanwhile she is watching city life destroy her family and all she wants to do is escape.

It is a shame that this big name cast didn't get a better script and a more original storyline to work with.

Review: I would rather be injected with the Ebola virus than watch this monstroscity of a movie one more time. The only redeeming factor is Adrianna from the Sopranos and she doesnt even get naked. This wanna be West Side Story/Outsiders scriptwriter should be taken into an alley and shanked in the liver with a screwdriver. Rack the Glock and keep a bullet handy when watching this flick~
