Summary: Don't listen to the critics, give MC a chance
Review: This is a good movie. Not an Oscar winner, but an enjoyable movie. It's darker than the ads made it out to be. It's a great DVD to own. I got it the day it came out, love this movie. The music is hot, it's got some interesting characters. They aren't all perfectly developed, and it's a bit of a chick flick, but enjoyable. Mariah is great. She's going to be even better in her next movie, "Wise Girls."

Summary: 4 Glittering Stars
Review: Preparing for the worst, I watched Glitter expecting a horrible, horrible movie. Instead I watched an entertaining movie filled with love and compasion. I didn't expect this film to be so depressing, but it did make me shed a couple tears I have to admit. The music works very well in the movie, so now I have a better appreciation of the soundtrack. I also love the last scene when Mariah shows up in the middle of the country in a limosine, decked out in a glamourous gown, reuniting with her long lost mother and then having an emotional breakdown. The scene is very surreal and very touching. Glitter ends up being a fabulous movie with alot of heart and a great soundtrack.

Review: Well I can not even believe the bad rap this movie got. Mariah was good in this movie. Her character was very believable. The movie probably should have just been a "Lifetime" movie but it really did get a bad rap. I think its release time was poorly planned coming out just after September 11th. There was some shots of the WTC which is a little spooky. If they had released the movie in mid-summer as planned I believe it would have done much better. As a debut movie Mariah showed she has star quality. ... Kudos to Mariah for holding her head high despite all the bad press.

Summary: Destined to Become a Cult Classic
Review: This movie is so bad that it is destined to become a cult classic. Not only is it bad, it is "Showgirls" bad! Poor Mariah Carey! I don't think that they ever gave her a screen test because then they would have known that she did not have one shred of acting ability. Too bad, I betcha Sony won't sign anymore lucrative fat contracts without checking the talent ever again! By the way, anyone over the age of 40 will recognize the strong similarities between "Glitter" and a 70's film entitled "Sparkle." The only difference is that the principals in "Sparkle" could actually act and Irene Cara could really sing.

Review: This movie is really good.. it might not deserve an oscar but you ALL have to admit that Mariah is adorable and very sweet in this movie!
Her acting is really good... I really think she will rule with her new movie Wisegirls with Mira Sorvino. Mariah you'll always be #1 for your fans and those of you who don't like Mariah I can only say this: you all don't know what you are missing!

Summary: A fun movie.
Review: I had my doubts about watching Glitter because I had heard all of the negative reviews the critics gave it. Despite those harsh reviews, it was a cute movie. Surprisingly, Mariah Carey is a good actress, but the script could have been better. It's about a woman named Bille Frank (Mariah Carey), whose mother had to leave her at an orphanage when she was a young girl. Flash forward about twenty years and Billie is struggling to make it to the top of the music world, when she meets Dice (Max Beesley), whom she begins dating. He makes all of her dreams come true. But for all of that happiness, there's a price to pay. The ending is sad and unexpected, but also triumphant. The DVD edition contains two music videos from Mariah ("Loverboy" and "Never Too Far") and director's commentary. Overall, this is a decent movie that I recommend watching, but Mariah Carey should stick to what she does best: making music.

Summary: Give it a try, It's not as bad as everyone says!
Review: After reading all the negative press about this movie, I decided to buy it simply because I thought it would be fun to watch for the laughs, like Showgirls. What surprised me was how much I actually ended up enjoying the movie. I really don't understand why the critics hated this movie so much. True, the plot is stuffed full of every rags to riches cliche from 100 movies past, but for some reason it all worked for me. I was especially impressed with the fact that Mariah wrote most of the music for the film, which was used very effectively. I thought the song "Reflections" was especially touching. I actually found the character Mariah played in this movie more endearing then the "real" Mariah. Just watch the "Loverboy" video on the disc and you'll know what I mean. Mariah is not great, but she does not embarass herself either. The music fits perfectly into the movie, and you can tell that a lot of hard work was put in by Mariah. So, even though the movie is not totally successful (and at times not that good), it's fun to watch someone as talented as Mariah give it a try. Bottom line is if you like movies about showbiz then you'll enjoy this movie.

Review: I checked this movie out because I had nothing else that I hadn't seen already(well...) I gave it 3 stars because it was better than I expected. But the idea that to people could write the same son when they are apart is just to cheesy. I'm not saying that you wouldn't like it but the ending did have me in tears. This is not the type of movie that leaves you feeling happy. It leaves you with an empty feeling inside.

Summary: worst movie of the year don't care cause i loved it
Review: i used to dislike mariah but that all changed after i watched glitter i found her pretty cool and sweet i heard she'll be having a new movie in theaters soon and will be filming another movie that means mariah can act.
ps .some people here are childish i believe are haters too if you didn't like the movie just say so not like advertising it's been nominated for the razzie award for worst movies how mean and harsh can people be.
