Summary: "Swing Kids" is A fight for freedom
Review: "Swing Kids" was truly a fabulous movie. Its a movie about the Nazi's in the time of Hitlers reign. The characters in this movie are astounding, and the actors who portray them put on a brilliant performance. Robert Sean Leonard as Peter, a young man who has made close friends with a group of boys who all have one thing in common that brought them together...swing music, and swing dancing. To which the german nazi's did not approve of. Peter ends up having to become an H.J. Which are basically nazi's in training...It is a fight to maintain balance in a society with no balance. As the video says on the cover, "They fought for the freedom that bound them together" Truly a great movie...I rave to much, and I really hope they re-release it cause I would LOVE to purchase this video! But I won't if it costs to much...that I must say! BUT RENT IT if you cannot purchase it! Another fabulous actor in it is Christian Bale who has done a very fine job in his career and has appeared in such movies as "Newsies" "A Midsummer Nights Dream" and coming Soon "All The Little Animals" and many more. He portrays Peters Best friend Thomas in this movie, and a lot of things between Peter and Thomas change, however, their friendship remains just in a different way as the movie goes. Watch it...you'll love it.

Review: I have always been fascinated with the swing/holocaust era and Swing Kids combined the two in an amazing story with amazing actors and screen play. Christian Bale and Robert Sean Leonard are a dynamic team and I hope they do movies together in the future

Review: Swing Kids: This movie was the first movie, in the past couple of years, to show TRUE swing dancing. The movie had just the right amount of swing, emotions and (dare I say) good morals. If you enjoy watching drama and swing i really, REALLY recomend that you buy this movie. You will be so glad that you did.

Review: I have never been so heartbroken at the end of a movie after I was at the end of Swing Kids. Robert Sean Leonard, as Peter (currently in The Iceman Cometh as Parritt, and great he is there as well) was amazing and gave the most realistic, heart-wrenching performance I've seen in a long time. Christian Bale was equally balanced in talent, and this combination of raw acting and great swinging made the movie perfection itself! If anyone has a copy of this movie they'd like to sell, I'd gladly pay for it!

Summary: Great portrayal of courageous rebellion against Nazi Germany
Review: One of the greatest films I have ever seen. As a "swing kid" myself I find complete interest in the dancing, but as a student of history I find it accurate and inspiring. It shows the underlying, deviating propaganda experinced during the horror of Nazi Germany, and how several of the youth took a stand against the temptations of heinous power and deceit by rebeling with American Big Band and Swing Dancing.
