Summary: Sexy And Very Modern For A Historical Tale
Review: "Dangerous Liasions" is a welcome relief for those ofus who are exhausted of endlessly recycled storylines and remakes. Itwas original and captivating. My younger brothers HATE movies about the past, but they couldn't peel their eyes away from the screen. The story seems a bit slow in the beggining, but as it goes on, the characters capture you. It is as unpredictable and enchanting as it is honest and compelling. John Malckovich is extrodaniary in his role as Valmont. Glenn Close was wonderful as the beautiful yet cunning Marquise. And "Cruel Intentions" was an excellent and original remake of this classic. "Dangerous Liasions" was a masterpiece!

Summary: Great Movie but...
Review: The movie is great with Glenn Close magnificent. I was really surprised at the inferior quality of the DVD image. Lots and lots of white flecks appear on the screen (I'm certain there's a technical name for this) and distract from the movie itself. I wonder why such a poor quality transfer was permitted.

Review: Dangerous Laisons is quite possibly one of the best films ever. Im a fan of period drama in general but this film just fantastic.In fact it was because of this film that I fell hopelessly in love with John Malcovich. His performance as Valmont is flawless. Hes so evil, what women could resist?Glenn close is spectacular in the type of role she does best in. Michelle Phieffer and Uma Thurman are also excellent. Its just a great film. I advise every one to give it a go.

Review: This film is sexy, moving and enthralling. The acting blew me away especially of the two main characters Close and Malkovich. John Malkovich as Valmont was an excellent choice, and you can really see why women fell for him as they did,so charming and knee shakingly gorgeous, not to mention that voice. The ending was perfect so moving, a perfect film.

Review: John Malkovich is too die for; playing a wonderful and human character. It could be argued as one of his best performance to date. The way he graced the film makes you feel like he has secretly entered your domain. He is definitely a gifted actor; with exaggerated characteristics. Glenn Close also gives a great performance in the film; as quite honestly, they carried the film throughout from beginning till end. I cannot believe this is film is unavailable for a newer audience; and generation to wonder; and be entertained.

Review: This is by far one of the best films of deceit, honor and love. Glenn Close and John Malkovich are splendid as the villains we love to hate. However, almost ten years after its original release, Keanu Reeves still leaves me befuddled as a choice for the role of the young, handsome lover. As far as production values, the whole design is magnificent eye candy, even if it is about 50 years earlier than the 1789 of which the story takes place. You will lose yourself in this elegent world of desire, deceit, death and debauchery. And when everyone gets theirs in the end, oh, how we wish it never had to end!

Review: The casting in this film is remarkable. Placing John Malkovich as Valmont was ingenious. Despite the fact that he does not have convential good looks, one can easily see why he might be irresistable. By the end of the movie, the viewer is so intrigued by the character, that he becomes the sexiest man in the world. Michelle Pfifer also puts in a great performance - just the right blend of innocence, strength, and inevidably weakness. In addition, Glenn Close put in her best performance ever. If you have never seen it, by all means, go rent it. you will be amazed.

Review: There is so much more to this movie than what appears on the surface. Watch emotions on the faces of the main characters. It's incredible. I've seen this movie probably 6 or 7 times. I cry every time.It is classic manipulation and subterfuge. A must see. Truly.
