Rating: Summary: "Rock Star" just plain rocks Review: I just saw the film "Rock Star" today with my best friend and I liked it a lot. It is a really entertaining film that is both really funny and dramatic. I thought Mark Wahlberg did some of his best work here. After making the dull film "Planet of the Apes", it was nice to see him really doing some great acting and really use his skills to make a film that doesn't leave you disappointed and will put a smile on your face and make you feel good. I thought Jennifer Aniston did a good job too. She pulls her role off really well as Wahlberg's girlfriend/manager and she looks great in this film, as usual. Also, I thought the film had a good story to it and it wasn't just thrown together with a lot of heavy metal in between a bunch of dialogue. It really has a point. Even though "Rock Star" may not be a totally original film, it still is great entertainment. So in conclusion, go see this film because it really is a good one.
Rating: Summary: From start to finish this movie was AWESOME! Review: I didn't have any expectations going into this movie so there really wasn't a chance for me to be disappointed. It had great music and actually had a pretty good story. I'm not much of a Mark Wahlberg fan but he did really well in this movie along with Jennifer Aniston. It made me realize how much I love rock music. It was the best movie I've seen in a while (and I've seen quite a few). I would definitely go see Rock Star again and again. So, if you love rock, guys with long hair, or Mark Wahlberg this is a must see for you.
Rating: Summary: This is one of the best movies i have ever seen.... Review: I just saw this movie on opening night (I was lucky I bought the tickets earlier because it sold out quickly) and both mark walbergh and jenifer aniston delived an incredible preformance. the writing was increadible and this movie really took you into the world of rock and roll. i cant wait to see this movie again.. you should see it too while you still can
Rating: Summary: Blast from the past Review: I just viewed the movie for the first time and all I can say was that I was floored. It's a great time piece for those of us who grew up in the 80's listening to and idlelizing bands like this, bands that had almost god like status. This movie has all the the right ingredients to make for excellent drama. It has comedy, wake-up calls, moments that pull at your heart strings, and even an age old moral; be careful what you wish for you may just get it!
Rating: Summary: It Rocked! Review: My wife and I went to see Rock Star tonight and we both thought that it was excellent. Boy, it really brought back memories of the music and fun we had in those days. The music was excellent and really emphasized the role it played in the 80's... loud music, extremely fun times, and an attitude that when you listened to this music... it made you feel great. The movie's plot was good and the acting was good as well. It was very cool to see band members from Dokken, Ozzy, and Third Eye Blind (well TEB was ok) in the movie and made it even more realistic. When you go see the movie, wear your leather and bang your head... it was a lot of fun.
Rating: Summary: This movie rocks! Review: My husband and I saw a preview of this movie about a month ago and loved every moment of it. It was a lot of fun. Mark Wahlberg has succeeded, at least for me, in totally proving he has what it takes to carry a movie. I would have given this 5 stars, but I felt that Jennifer Aniston's character wasn't as fully realized as it could have been, although she did a great job. The songs were great! I had different tunes from the movie running through my head for a week. The supporting cast was excellent. Run, don't walk to the theatres next week when this movie opens and be prepared for a good time!
Rating: Summary: Rock Star Review: Mark Wahlberg portrays as Chris Coles a die hard fan of a band called the Steel Dragon. But his life takes a drastic turn when he is chosen to replace the lead singer of his favorite band. With a good plot and cast this should be a enjoyable movie.
Rating: Summary: My prediction of Rockstar Review: I have not seen this movie yet, of course, it isn't out yet. However I have read about it and seen some previews and if Mark Wahlberg does as good of a job as he did in "Boogie Nights" and "Three Kings" then it should be great. It will be interesting to see him working along side of Jennifer Anniston also. I read that he really grew his own hair out long for this picture (but couldn't wait to chop it when it was finished). I thought that was interesting since he could have just worn a wig. I think Walberg is really an interesting actor and he brings a certain charisma to his roles. I loved him in "3 Kings" and "Perfect Storm" as well as the recent "Planet of the Apes". Although many have criticized his acting in that role he wasn't given alot of great lines to work with and the film didn't really require it. He is a wonderful actor and I predict "Rockstar" is going to be a very good film.
Rating: Summary: Rock Star Review: We have seen Mark Walhberg in Planet of the apes this summer and he gave a terrific performance as a confuesed spaceman crashed on a planet with talking Apes. So since both are Theatrical Releases I am sure he'll be giving a wonderfull performance in Rock Star as well.
Rating: Summary: was an ok movie but worth the watch Review: Alot I seen in these reviews seem to rate this movie strickly on the belife it was a story about Judas Priest with the exit of Rob Halford. And yes, Im a die hard Judas Priest fanatic 'Halford days'!
Maybe it was, maybe it wasnt but still, it was an enjoyable movie, alot of truth about the behind the scence of the heavy metal lime light how it appears to be so anti corperate yet embraces it when no one is looking.
It may have had Mark Wahlburg in it however he did play a good part as a glam rocker who slowly started to see once he was actually in his dream the walls of his dream were nothing but styrofoam, just one big front. Plus you get to see him in his first debute in Steel Dragon coming out on stage looking all tough and bad and fall down a story of stairs in front of a crowded sold out arena of people. Im still laughing about that one :P
However the movie itself is entertaining and its not bad however its not *great*, but it does touch some real life elements and worth at least one watch...
Enjoy!
