Review: I have read all of Lucy Maud Montgomery's Anne books, and although I am an avid reader, I find that I love these movies more than I love Montgomery's books. Gorgeous Prince Edward Island provides an enticing backdrop to this wonderful film; the richness of color and beauty of this movie continues to astound me. Megan Follows is an amazing actress, bringing life and vigor to the poetic character of Anne Shirley; Jonathan Crombie is extremely handsome as Gilbert Blythe! I enjoy this move every time I watch it and would recommend it to anyone, young or old!

Review: As a 57 year old 7th grade English teacher, I've shown this classic over the years to my students about 85 times, and I personally never tire of it. Every showing is warm and inspiring. I only regret that I can't erase my memory of it and experience its beauty afresh as if for the first time. My classes are always caught up in the unique and loving ambiance created by the Anne girl and the film's other wonderful characters: Marilla, Matthew, Diana, Gilbert, Miss Stacey, and Aunt Jo. As we watch, Anne enchants us with her imagination, makes us marvel and laugh as she turns misadventures into good ones, captivates when she easily in own her delightful way makes new friends ("Kindred Spirits" as she calls them), thrills and amuses us with her narrow escapes, grieve-strickens us with her deeply personal tragedies, and lastly, she makes us all mightily ache for Gilbert and her to get together. I dare say that if such a count could ever be made, Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea might be the most watched films of the century...and they've never appeared in a theater!!!

Review: After reading the books and seeing the movies years ago i decided to watch them again on a rainy day. I had forgotten how touching the story was. Megan Follow's portrayal of Anne Shirley is amazing, she is an actress of utmost talent. Anyone who has dreams or imagination will certainly find a kindrid spirit in the the carrot topped girl. Her budding relationship with Gilbert Blythe as found out in the sequal is certainly a fine story line. The way they have the secret feelings for eachother is a romantic quality that is not found very often in the world today. I watched both Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea numerous times and could not get enough of it. People of all ages will enjoy it guaranteed, no matter if you are 8 or 38.

Review: I love these movies! They are great and Megan Follows is the perfect Anne, just as J. Crombie is the perfect Gil. I watched them when I was very young, and now, more than a decade later, I still watch them!

Summary: My Favorite Movie of ALL TIME!!!!!
Review: Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Avonlea are my favorite movies of all time. I watched them on PBS as a little girl every time it came on TV. I have watched these tapes over and over again, as many of my friends have done too. Even today in college I have had conversations with many of my friends who all agree that their childhoods would not have been complete without Anne Shirley (Anne with an "e"), Marilla, Matthew, Gilbert or any of the wonderful characters from the book and movie.

Review: It will be such a treat to share this video with my little girls. I thoroughly enjoy watching it and am touched beyond words every time I see it. This film not only inspires children to use and keep their imaginations, but also reminds adults to ENHANCE their imaginations by loving them unconditionally!!! I LOVE ANNE SHIRLEY!!!!!

Summary: It was one of the most heart warming films I've ever seen.
Review: I thought this movie and also Anne of Avon Lea were both very loving and heart warming movies, really tugged at the heart strings. I watched it with my 6 yr old daughter and she brings up different parts of the moviewhen we're just taking a walk...she even asks to see it again and that's why I decided to purchase rather then rent it...With all the garbage on TV for the kids,it's nice to be able to own these movies to throw in the VCR...Anne Shirley (the main character is definately a role model for my 2 daughters.

Summary: I fell in love unexpectedly.
Review: I first saw Anne of Green Gables was right before fall finals my freshman yr of college. I never got to see Anne of Avonlea until a few weeks later. I went crazy. I had to rent them both. Just grabbed a bowl of popcorn and watched all 8 hours straight. I do it everytime I have a few days off now. I fall in love with Gilbert everytime.
