Summary: A Masterpiece
Review: That does it! I've decided - the Coen brothers are the best filmmakers around! This is their sixth and (so far) best movie (The Big Lebowski was funnier, but this is a better film overall). It is at once, gripping, suspenseful, wry, funny, shocking and sad. Frances McDormand's Marge Gunderson, a hugely pregnant police chief with a mind like Sherlock Holmes and a down-to-earth Midwestern manner, is about the most appealing character I've ever seen in any movie. Peter Stormare is creepy as the larger and wierder of the two kidnappers (not forgetting Steve Buscemi as the other one; he shines in this movie). William H. Macy as the sleazy car salesman is really more an object of pity than anything else; you can feel his frsutration (and maybe understand his motivation) as he is constantly being belittled by his overbearing father-in-law. And as usual, the dialogue is fantastic!

Which is all just a fancy way of saying: see this movie! Again and again! O ja shur, you betcha ...

Summary: What Missing Scene?
Review: There is erroneous information in the review which stated that a scene is missing. In addition to this review containing a "spoiler", the scene this other viewer claimed was missing never existed. The incident that the viewer was alluding to was never shown in any version of the film I've ever seen, which includes the theatrical, video and DVD release of the movie. By the way, this is a great film.

Summary: It should be 5 stars but the missing scene(s) give it a 3
Review: Fargo was a very enjoyable film. You may have to see it a few times to fully catch it all. And thats were the problem is. The DVD version has one missing scene in which the wife is murdered by the kidnapers, why was this scene deleted? I think there were a few other minor changes; but this one missing scene makes me question the company that is responsible for the faithful transfer of films in theater to films on DVD! Overall if you can't have it the original way; this is a very enjoyable movie.

Summary: A cool, dark movie exploring American prairie life
Review: One of the most tantalizing movies I've seen. The actors are brilliant and the Coen Brothers are the best. If they ran for president of Hollywood I'd vote for them. One question. Why did that big indian guy beat up Steve Buschemis' character?

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Brilliant!!
Review: This is by far the most original black comedy I have ever seen. The cast is wonderful and the dialogue is hilarious. There is some blood and gore (it is a very very black comedy), but stay with it until the very end.

The cast is headed by the wonderful Frances McDormand who won a well deserved Oscar is the very pregnant policewoman. William H. Macy co-stars as the car salesman who hires Steve Buscemi and Peter Stormare to kidnap his wife. Trust me I'm not giving anything away. Just watch and see for yourself.

Summary: "Fargo" tries to parody the upper-midwest but fails.
Review: "Fargo" may have an interesting plot, but anyone from the upper-midwest is too distracted by the poorly done accents and satire to notice.

Summary: Raising Arizona meets Pulp Fiction
Review: The hardest you will ever laugh at someone being stuffed into a wood chipper.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Another masterpiece from the Coen brothers
Review: Hats off to the Coens who are singlehandedly rescuing the American film noir scene. This hilarious and disturbing parody on life on the frozen tundra of the Minnesota plains will surely leave a lasting impression. At least I know I will never quite look at a wood chipper in the same way ever again.

Summary: top shelf film noir

Summary: The Greatest Movie of all time
Review: I have heard many mixed reviews of the movie Fargo but only one is accurate. Fargo is simply a great movie. It offers everything a movie should, action, comedy, great charecters(Steve Buscemi is god), good plot, and just all around hillarious situations. Many peopple I talk to consider Fargo to be strange, and a lot of people don't like the accents, but that is the genius of Joel and Ethan Coen. They emphasize points of Minneapolises culture to the extreme, the movie just would not have been the same with out the accents, and strangness of detail. This movie made William H. Macy, Francis Mcdormand, Steve Buscemi, and Joel and Ethan Coen some of the most elite and most sought after actors, actresses, and directors in the film industry. I recomend you see this movie with an open mind and don't turn it off at any point. Just watch it all, it will all make sense at the end. If you like Fargo, and I think you will, you will also like Raising Arizona, Trees Lounge (dir. and staring Steve Buscemi), and The Big Lebowski. This definantly earned it's place on the 100 greatest films list, and a spot as number one on my personal all-time greatest movie's list. Enjoy
