Rating: Summary: Memorable movie and soundtrack Review: I am not American, and do not feel the same attachments to the movie as such, but I absolutely loved the movie. Others have probably mentioned all the good things about this show, so I will only say what i didn't like (could there be any?) For one, it would have been nice to have some german scenes or some enemy scenes (re: The Longest Day). Also, it might have been nice to add in some parts from home, showing the reactions of the American citizens as a whole or even the soldiers' families' reactions to the war or news from the war. I guess that's it. I cannot really recall much bad stuff as the good stuff keep comng back.Every episode/scene was tasty for me as I think it was all very emotional and stirring. But the absolute faves must have been the concentration camp, the patrol episodes, the forest where they lost a great deal of friends and that 'Shifty' sniper appears. Lastly, the final interview when 'Shify' said, ' we few, we lucky few, we band o brothers.'. Never have I felt more emotion from a Shakespseare quote than there and then. Kudos to the writers, directors and all involved. Masterpiece indeed. Now where's the video? Anyone of you recorded it on tape? Probably earning big bucks on the black market, eh?
Rating: Summary: real heros......a historians gold mine Review: Ambrose's ability to take the personal battle of a few brave men and what they did for our freedom is 2nd to none. The actors look like the guys did. The scenes and quotes follow the book. No Arnold or Sylvester pretend people, Just the real people, the real version doing the impossible for real.
Rating: Summary: BEST TRUE LIFE DRAMA Review: THIS IS THE BEST AND THE MOST UNIQUE ADAPTATION OF WW2 LIFE AND REALLY HITS HOME THE COURAGE AND FRIENDSHIP PUT UNDER THE MOST SEVERE CONDITIONS DURING WW2. I WAS GLUED TO MY TV EVERY TIME IT WAS ON. I HAVE NEVER FELT SO INVOLVED IN WATCHING ANYTHING LIKE THIS AND BEING ABLE TO HEAR THE ORIGNAL SOLDIERS TELL THEIR STORY AT THE END BROUGHT TEARS TO MY EYES. WE SHOULD BE GLAD THAT THESE MEN GAVE THEIR LIVES TO KEEP OUR FREEDOM. I LOOK FORWARD TO AQUIRING THIS UNIQUE MINI SERIES TO WATCH OVER AND OVER AS MANY TIMES AS I CAN ( MY THANKS TO HANKS AND SPIELBERG AND THE MEN OF EASY COMPANY)
Rating: Summary: Stunning - I just hope they bring it out on DVD Review: To date, the best TV drama I have ever seen. It takes us from the training camps of Currahee to the battlefields of Europe and leaves us with nothing but admiration for the men who fought with Easy Company. Expertly made, the battle scenes crackle with the same immediacy as those in Saving Private Ryan. However, unlike that film, the fact-based storyline holds up, and we are drawn into an experience of war that is rarely captured. My favourite episode is the attack on Foy, where it's brought home how bad leadership in combat will cost lives. The acting of the all the cast is of the highest quality - Damien Lewis as the enigmatic, focused Dick Winters and Matthew Settle as the ruthless, sinister Ronald Speirs stand out. I really hope they bring it out on DVD, because it'll be going straight to the top of my collection.

Rating: Summary: The best the medium has to offer Review: I agree with the other reviewers - Band of Brothers is simply the best film or video experience there is. It is faithful to the Ambrose book, but even more important, it is faithful to the men who lived these extraordinary lives. To call it flawless may be an overstatement, but there wasn't a moment that was not totally engaging; I found myself shivering uncontrollably during the Bastogne segment, that's how powerfully it tells the story of these amazing young men. For that matter, it is the story of all soldiers in war, not only these particular heros. A simply stunning achievement. Please publish the DVD quickly, Messrs. Hanks & Speilberg. This is the work for which you will both be remembered.
Rating: Summary: The finest war film/mini-series ever produced Review: 'Band of Brothers' is near flawless - production, set, script, props, sound, and of course acting - no detail overlooked, absolute excellence in every aspect. When this 10 part, 1 hour each series is put to DVD, it will become an instant classic and should be in every DVD collection, particularly history buffs. They will be absolutely impressed with the fanatical attention to detail. Great to see this kind of quality in filmaking again - a must buy.
Rating: Summary: Greatest Tribute to Soldier-Heroes Review: This production of brilliant minds like Tom Hanks and Steven Speilberg deserves high commendation. Band of Brothers, which was presented so true-to-life and simply, was, to me, the greatest tribute the present world can offer to the good and brave soldiers of E Company, US101st, Airborne, in particular, and to all heroes of the Allied Force in WWII, in general. Watching the series (over and over) was a very heart-moving experience that kept the viewer feeling almost the same kind of emotions gripping those mean of E company as portrayed in each episode. There were not much words, but the actors very convincingly portrayed their respective roles and conveyed the message. In fact, by the end of the 10 episodes, I could actually believe that the actors were the real characters and heroes. All incidental props needed to enhance authenticity of the film were utilized to the optimum advantage. Overall the movie, from the producers to the cast deserve very high awards in Globe or Oscars (if this is put on wide screen movie). As to the moral value or social relevance of Band of Brothers - the presentation was very timely - to remind the world that there have been great soldiers and heroes before, there are more at present and there will be more in the future that will fight to free the world from oppression, terrorism and tyranny. Perhaps, for those youth who viewed this tv mini-series - an eye-opener or a challenge to emulate the values shown by the noble and brave men E Co. US101st Airorne Division. Tom and Steven, Thanks for producing this beautiful movie.
