Summary: YUCK!!!
Review: An enchanted and fascinated-with-regular-troupe Bacchus presents Gladiator Eroticus. The flick is a parody of the big-budget cool Ridley Scott, GLADIATOR only the main lead and characters replaced by gorgeous, cosmetically shaped women. Lots of sex scenes - lousy editing - some frivolous and forced attempts in the plot to bring in sex related humor that always seems to miss the mark. It does not add up to or promise any great satisfaction. See it with a barf-bag not a box of tissues!

Summary: Fun Film
Review: As other reviewers have pointed out, this movie is an erotic spoof of Gladiator.

This is a VERY low-budget movie. It's like a group of friends got together to have some fun acting the plot out. I wasn't expecting anything here. I was assuming it would be something mindless. It turned out not to be totally mindless.

The humor is extremely silly - beyond what you might in Airplane! or Naked Gun. There are a few good moments which I don't think I should state in a place which can be viewed by all ages. I'm tempted to make comparisons with the director Ed Wood, but that could be a little misleading since he never did porn. There is plenty of overacting and bad dialogue. ...but it's fun.

Even with the bad jokes, there is a plot here. The weapons are plastic toys. The main female gladiator fights don't really involve weapons. Two women approach each other and then they quickly touch each other in a sexual manner or move their tongues rapidly. Most of the fights are orgies - all girls. No men involved. There are a few traditional gladiator type fights, but they're just there to move the story along. I could have done without the vomit scene.

For me, the movie was enjoyable, but not a classic. I simply viewed it as a Gladiator spoof with some sex added in. I liked it because I studied Latin and Roman culture in college, and it was neat to see this type of a production on that subject. ...even if it may not be 100% (or even 40%) historically accurate.

There is a nice interview with Misty Mundae included. ...a normal interview. Just comments about her daily routine and a few things about the production.

Summary: Gladiator Eroticvs (2001) d: Bacchus, John
Review: Erotic spoof of the Ridley Scott blockbuster from EI / Seduction Cinema. Darian Caine stars as a lesbian warrior who is taken prisoner, enslaved and later becomes the most feared and least clothed female gladiator performing in the Roman games. The video contains slapstick comedy similar to Howard Ziehm's late night cult movie Flesh Gordon (1974), Bob Clark's Porky's (1982) or Fred Olen Ray's Bad Girls From Mars (1990). It looks like the crew had a lot of fun during filming, unfortunately the humor too often gets in the way of the erotic action. ... . The all girl action makes it impossible to watch with the wife, and the high-school locker room comedy scenes keep it far from being a ... film, but the hot, ... naked women complete the visit. A strange movie that mixes off beat comedy, and erotic lesbian desires.

Summary: GLADIATOR EROTICUS
Review: GLADIATOR EROTICUS happens to be an erotic adult film parody of Ridley Scott's "Gladiator." Darian Cane stars as Eroticus, a female lesbian warrior soldier who ends up in slavery and is forced to fight her way to freedom by battling in the lesbain gladiator games. Darian Cane steals the movie as Eroticus and is the best good looking woman in the whole film.

Summary: Doesn't even deserve a rating!! These guys suck!!
Review: I bought one of the other flicks they made at one time. It was so bad i took it back to the store. I said it was dammaged to get a store credit and got something else. The production , acting, script and look of that film was so bad it made Jess Franco's Ilsa The Wicked Warden look like The Titanic. What really made me angry was that the flicks these guy make only shows the women topless and thats it! No real sex or anything! STAY AWAY FROM THESE GUYS. Buy a vivid movie, at least they deliver the goods!!!

Summary: Eroticus Hilarious
Review: Maybe I've seen too many of these John Bacchus movies from Seduction Cinema. I know how exceedingly silly and juvenile these films can be, so the completely farcical nature of Gladiator Eroticus was certainly not a shock to my system. I also know what kind of activities go on in these movies, and I just didn't find this one very erotic at all. This is disappointing given the fact that my three favorite Seduction Cinema starlets, Misty Mundae, Darian Cane, and Katie Jordan, are all featured herein. The story is simple, ludicrous, and relatively unimportant. Darian Cane plays Eroticus, the leading general of Rome, one who achieves victory on the battlefield in her own special way, one that does not involve armor or weapons or even clothes. The emperor wants her to be the next leader of the Roman people, but the emperor's idiotic son assumes the throne after he sort of kills his father. He orders the death of Eroticus, but she defeats her would-be killers (who are, fortunately for her, female), and escapes only to be captured and taught the ways of lesbian gladiator fighting. In this way she works her way back toward Rome with the goal of exacting revenge on the emperor.

Misty Mundae saves this movie from complete failure. She plays the sister of the new emperor, and he keeps her close to his side for the first two-thirds of the film. Once she finally has a chance to engage in the gladiator-like activities taking Rome by storm, the movie becomes much better. This is actually a rather large-scale project for the Seduction Cinema folks; all this really means is that there are more actors than usual included in the cast and that the whole Roman army, instead of numbering a handful of soldiers, seems to consist of about twenty people. This is unquestionably a bare-bones sort of production. Almost all of the action takes place out in the open, and computer-generated Roman-looking buildings are supposed to make us envision Rome itself as the setting. The plot itself pretty much stinks, coming pretty close to giving Mistress Frankenstein a run for its money in terms of its rottenness. Bacchus got some of his jollies with the idea of a "vomitorium" this time around, and this does not help his cause. One thing about this film particularly galls me, though. The voices of Darian Caine and Jade DuBoir are dubbed over with some he-man-sounding female voices which sound utterly ridiculous. I really can't recommend this film to anyone besides Misty Mundae fans; she is much too good for a movie this ridiculous.

Summary: The reviewer from Auburn is RIGHT!
Review: Sorry to say, but the reviewer from Auburn, Alabama is right on the money about this film. The Seduction Cinema team has become way too enamored of their so-called humor, which is beneath sophomoric. Even more of a problem, though, is the editing: there are a number of what should have been great sex scenes, but the quick-cut choppiness of the editing removes most of the "steam." All in all, a disappointing offering and quite a letdown from the folks who did "Girl Explores Girl" and "The Erotic Witch Project."

Summary: Bad spoof
Review: Spoofs of this kind is sometimes nice. This one is not. Corny and very low-budget. A better spoof of Gladiator is the one by Private. It's really high-budget (relative to other features in it's genre), really good looking women. See that one instead.
