Rating: Summary: Take A Chance -- You Won't Regret It Review: For me, watching a Kevin Costner movie is always a risky proposition. Even in movies that have done well at the box office, such as "Field of Dreams" or "Robin Hood - Prince of Thieves", Costner's limited versatility as an actor and his monotonous deadpan distract the viewer from what are otherwise excellent movies. Of course, then you have the total stinkers, such as "Water World". Even more frustrating are the movies with an interesting plot, which place Costner in a role fitting his style, such as "A Perfect World", but simply drag on and on until most viewers lose interest. I missed seeing "Dragonfly" in the theaters, but found its premise intriguing when it was released on DVD. However, I have become very wary of any movie with Kevin Costner on the cover, so put off purchasing the movie. Eventually, after reading positive reviews of the movie, I decided to take a chance. This movie exemplifies why Kevin Costner has endured, despite the string of box office flops he has been involved with: when his acting style clicks with his character and the plot, the movie really works. In "Dragonfly", Costner fits neatly into a niche where he plays a supporting role to the true star of this movie: the fast-moving, intelligent, tension-filled plot. There's no doubt that Kevin Costner has a presence on the screen, and he truly shines when not too many demands are placed on his acting ability. "Dragonfly" is an excellent movie, a ghost story with a twist in the style of "The Sixth Sense" and "The Others". The plot masterfully weaves the tension of a ghost story with the intellectual challenge of a mystery. I would highly recommend it to those who enjoy the strange and alluring sensation of immersing themselves into the supernatural.

Rating: Summary: MEDIOCRITY AT ITS BEST Review: THIS HAS BEEN ONE OF THE WORST MOVIES OF THE YEAR 2002, AND ITS ALSO ONE OF THE MOST MEDIOCRE SUPERNATURAL THRILLERS I'VE EVER SEEN! THE PLOT IS SO FANTASTICLY RIDICULOUS AND KEVIN COSTNER PROVES HE CAN'T ACT. THE ENDING OF THE STORY IS AS ABSURDE AS WATCHING THIS MOVIE. PLEASE IF YOU DON'T HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO WATCH, STILL DON'T WATCH THIS!
Rating: Summary: Dragonfly is a good movie Review: I just finished watching Dragonfly and I enjoyed it. This movie is only for people who are into the paranormal. I reccommend this movie.
Rating: Summary: Will definitely please "Crossing Over" and John Edward fans Review: When his wife disappears during a trip, presumed dead, her husband (played by Kevin Costner) has trouble handling his grief. To add to his dilemna, he starts getting messages and signs that might indicate she is trying to tell him something. Some of her former patients have dreams and visions that might be coming from her and many of them also draw the same picture - a weird, squiggly cross shape. Be forewarned that this movie is slow going, especially at the beginning, but it might hold your interest if you are the type that enjoys watching shows like Crossing Over and believe in messages from beyond the grave. And Costner is definitely convincing as a man torn between belief and cynicism. Even so, the pace was just a bit too slow for my taste- until the end - which I admit took me by surprise. I absolutely didn't have a hint of what was coming. I'm not sure the great ending was enough of a payoff for having to sit through the entire film. You might feel differently.
Rating: Summary: Pretty good, suspenseful movie Review: This movie wasn't bad. It was suspenseful at times, but there were some boring points that the movie could have done without. Overall, it was pretty good.
Rating: Summary: DRAGONFLY is my favorite movie of all time!!!!!!! Review: "Dragonfly" is an excellent movie!!!! It's got something for everyone - a bit of action, suspense, and sadness. It's a movie about basically having faith, and it's brought it out in me! I'd suggest the movie "Dragonfly" to everyone........
Rating: Summary: Dragonfly, please fly away! Review: This movie was about the worst movie I've seen all summer. It hada pretty good storyline, and a fewexciting jump scenes, but mostly kept you wishing it would end so you could leave and go do something that's worth doing.Costner delivered a fairly well performance, but not good enough to watch!OK,so I give it a 2 out of 5.
Rating: Summary: What was he thinking? Review: I've got to say that I have been a loyal fan of Kevin Costner (I have ALL his movies, even the bad ones), but this movie does take stomach and effort to watch. It is the most predictable film you'll ever see: you know that the children will give him messages, you know that that strange bird will announce his dead wife's arrival, and when the big surprise comes at the end, you just don't care anymore. Kevin does his usual part, the director (let's not waste time saying his name) has the Reader's Digest idea of what suspense is, and the writer wrote things like: "Por favor, go home, seƱor". Do they really believe that we, latinamericans, speak like that (in Spanglish)? I am very sorry that Mr. Costner hasn't had a hit in a while, but it is also a shame that his name is in such a horrible and mediocre film like this one. Watch The Postman again, at least that one had great views and it was funny (I'm not sure if on purpose), this Dragonfly is just shameful.
Rating: Summary: Loss of a loved one Review: For anyone who has lost a loved one, I recommend they see this film. There is more to the spirit and soul of someone. This is only a shell we live in. The rest remains and lives on. Our loved ones do try to let us know they are with us and it is up to us to be receptive to the signs they send us. Perhaps some of us think we may imagine things, but keep an open mind and you will find reassurance that we are not forgotten. We are loved!
