Review: A complete butchering of the Arthurian legend. Richard Gere is his typical stone faced self, which doesn't help matters. Come on, buddy... emote! The plot is average, while the movie's concept of Camelot is comical. Mildly entertaining, but this is the kind of movie you forget quickly.

Summary: A wonderful addition to ANYONE'S video collection!
Review: A romantic view of medieval times, indeed. The kiss between Guinevere (Ormond) and Lancelot (Gere) is one of the hottest I've ever witnessed in a PG movie -- hot, yet suitable for the whole family.

Summary: Breathtaking, excellent and BETTER than EX-calibur
Review: This movie was much better than Excalibur. I have watched it over 25 times and it is truly the Authenic Arthurian, medival times that was truly portrayed during that era. You will absolutely enjoy it!

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Not for Arthurian purists
Review: There are two ways to look at this movie. One is as a version of the Arthur myth, in which sense the movie fails dismally. People in love with "the original" (whichever century's version of the ancient story they think that is) will be distressed by the anachronisms and by the happy ending. On the other hand, people who prefer medieval "feel" to medieval authenticity, and who love PG- rated swordplay, romantic settings, beautiful gowns, galloping horses, chaste eroticism, and codes of honor--as I do--will love this movie. As a generic romance, the movie is excellent. If the purists can bring themselves to pretend that the movie is about a DIFFERENT Arthur, Guinevere, and Lancelot, they'll be fine.

Summary: Connery and Zucker Create a Touching and Beautiful Film
Review: "First Knight" is a well filmed, well directed, and well acted display of drama/action-adventure. Connery is perfect for his role.

Summary: Not the best Arthurian movie
Review: This is a good, not great, movie. Its nice to look at more than anything else, with handsome actors and decent performances. For anyone who knows about the Arthurian Legend, the movie 'Excalibur' is far and away the best, even though it has its' own flaws. Still, it has many wondrous moments that 'First Knight' lacks. Lancelot in Excalibur is much better than Gere. First Knight seems to almost wholly disregard the legend of the Grail, Lady of the Lake and anything else that makes this legend so special. First Knight is a nice movie to rent, but Excalibur is a movie you should OWN.

Summary: First Knight was action packed and very entertaining!
Review: I enjoyed this movie very much. It was the story of Camelot. Lancelot and King Arthur along with the Knights of the Round Table and their army fought Malagant and his army. Malagant was their enemy who wanted control over Camelot. I am eight so I didn't really care for the love story with Guiniverre (sp?) and King Arthur and Lancelot. But since this is a big part of the story, I put up with it. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes battles and the Camelot story. My parents liked it too. It made my Mom cry. Dad, like me, liked the action. The only thing I didn't like so much was the battles were sometimes a little gory.
