Rating: Summary: Indie filmmaking at its best Review: Sharp little film about obsessive love and its consequences. No one is caught "acting" here, and that is the movie's greatest strength, it has the feel of real life. There is enough angst to emulate any Ingmar Bergman movie, but every situation rings overwhelmingly true. The abrupt ending disappoints, as some loose ends remain, but overall, this is a solid independent effort and it is highly recommended. The film transfer is fair, picture is hazy but acceptable.

THE ACTING BY FRANK HUGHES WAS SUPERB&THE PROOF OF HIS TALENT &CELESTINO"S ABILITY TO RECOGNIZE SUCH DIDN;T SURPRISE ME WHEN FRANK WAS PICKED TO DO ONE OF THE LEADS IN BAND OF BROTHERS. AS A & WRITER & DIRECTOR, CELESTINO IS SURELY SOMEONE TO KEEP AN EYE ON. HE APPEARS TO BE THE REAL DEAL&HAS THE PASSION, INSIGHT& DEPTH TO WALK DOWN THAT RED CARPET ONE DAY.

Rating: Summary: Searing Indelible Power Review: This is one of the best films I've seen a long time. I was really intriqued by the story. It seemed so real. I got goose bumps during many scenes. I would love to see more films of this type. If anyone knows any onther films that this director has done or any other similiar films by other directors, please email. Thanks.

Rating: Summary: Hard Hitting and Realistic Review: This isn't the usual meet-cute love story, nor the usual sentimentalized tale of doomed love or romantic obsession. One man, one woman: It's the same old setup with a whole different method to its madness.John Vincent is an indifferent schooltaecher with a classroom of indifferent students. He moonlights as a singer songwriter of questionable talent and undaunted optimism. Even when his wife dumps him, John Vincentis unbowed. He takes up with Lisa and pours all of his dreams into his new crucuble - until the relationship turns sour, and he begins to pour all of his nightmares into it instead. He's losing his grip. And we're there, up close, for it all. Wit single minded intensity that rivals Vincent's the filmamkers have burned anything that might be irrelevant off of the screen. What's left is a white-hot passion spinning out of control.
Rating: Summary: true to life! Review: This true to life drama and black and white imaging has created a gripping, and gut wrenching experience. One of the things "everybody knows" in Hollywood, is that people won't go see movies that do not feature "likeable" characters. Which, of course, ignores the commercial and critical success of films as diverse as The Crying Game, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver and Pulp Fiction. John Vincent, the title character is not by any stretch of the imagination a nice guy, but he is fasinating, (brilliantly played by Frank John Hughes)and makes it hard for me to take my eyes off him. An English teacher and aspiring songwriter, Johnny's just been dumped by his wife when he runs into an old High School sweetheart (wonderfully portrayed by Lisa LoCicero). When his passion for her becomes obssesive, she tries to back out of the relationship. John's feelings and his whole life begin to spiral out of control. From what I have read, Director Robert Celestino has been justifiably compared to Cassavetes and Scorsese for the passion and intensity he brings to the film, and the strong performances he gets from his actors. I recommend this film to all serious film buffs.

Rating: Summary: Mr. Vincent pack emotional Punch Review: When I first saw Mr. Vincent I was blown away. How could an indie movie shot in New York for peanuts be so emotionally draining that I needed a jack and coke just to return to my normal pace. Mr. Vincent is one of the best acted indie films I have ever seen, and I trust me, I have seen many. Director Bob Celestino works with actors in a way that most indie filmmakers don't understand. Bob Celestino just may be New York's best kept secret.
