Summary: No Looking Back
Review: I thought this movie was pretty laid back and good, but then again I love watching any movie with Ed Burns in it. How do I get a hold of the soundtrack or a list of the singers, I thought the movie had pretty good music?

Summary: Soundtrack Searching
Review: I thought this was an enjoyable movie. The music was great. How can we get a soundtrack?

Summary: I just wish I had seen it in the theater.
Review: I'm a little late in jumping on the bandwagon to appreciate Ed Burns' work, but better late than never. The other day I caught She's the One on cable and found myself really interested in the characters and their lives. It wasn't a hysterical comedy, but it wasn't meant to be. Then I saw a trailer on some videotape I rented for another film by Burns (I still haven't been able to rent the Brothers McMullen, it's always out) called No Looking Back. I was skeptical about Jon Bon Jovi and I've never seen Lauren Holly do anything that I was really crazy about but it seemed intriguing.

I was so pleasantly surprised, expecting a nice little film to occupy a Sunday afternoon for a while, what I got was much more than that. What I notice, from the 2 Ed Burns features I have seen, is that he is equally adept at crafting very interesting, real, subtly strong characters for both women and men. It's also refreshing to see such realism because the predictable way to go for this story would have been this "happily ever after" ending with Claudia and Charlie being soul mates, or some saccharin crap like that. It's much more interesting to watch the effect of Charlie's return on the people of this small town with an optimistic but realistic ending. That's good writing that makes it all so much more meaningful and accessable for people watching. I can't wait to see what he does in the future, it's so rare to see someone who can write, direct and act without embarrassing himself in one capacity or another. Ed Burns was born to do what he is doing and I'm just glad that I get to sit back and watch.

Summary: Classics, all three of Ed Burns movies.
Review: If your hesitant in spending $50+ on these three movies all I can say is DON"T BE. It will be the BEST money you spent on entertainment in a long time.

Burns movies are the kind that make you think about the human tragedy. These are movies that you drink coffee and discuss in extreme detail.

My sister sent me the book "Three Screenplays by Edward Burns". I started reading the plays and knew I had to see the movies. What stories, what writing.

I feel his screenplays will become classics, with such plays as Millers, "Death of a Salesman." I can't wait for his next play.

Thank god for Sundance and the opportunity given to let the public have the pleasure of seeing such fine work as Ed Burns.

Being from Rockaway and leaving to make something of my life I can honestly say Burns depicted life in Rockaway in "No Looking Back" true in every detail. Even got the colors in the homes exactly as I remember them. These movies will have a permanent place in my collection.

Summary: NO LOOKING BACK
Review: No looking back was very realistic. The cast was especially convincing. Today I met Edward Burns while filming his new movie Ash Wednesday outside of my house.

He is even more attractive in person, he agreed to take a picture with me. I didn't shake that bad on my wedding day, this man is just too much! Edward Burns is an outstanding actor, director and fantastic man.

If you haven't seen any other of his films get to your video store and rent She's The One, or Brother's McMullen. He is brilliant....

Summary: Decent little flick
Review: O.K., this movie won't change your life, but it's not a total waste of time, either. Nice movie, a little too laid back for my taste, but good acting overcomes a mediocre script. Lauren Holly is gorgeous to look at, and the rest of the cast (even Jon Bon Jovi) take this mood piece seriously enough to turn in strong performances.

The sountrack is simply amazing, and I spent almost 1/2 hour trying to locate it on every internet site that sells CD's, before I realized there was none. Whoever came up with the brilliant decision not to release the sountrack should be taken out and shot. The never before heard version of Bruce Springsteen singing "I'm On Fire" that turns into a waltz tempo with Bruce weeping new lyrics alone would send sales through the Platinum roof. To reiterate the sentiment of the reviewer below, are you kidding me?

Summary: burns at his worst
Review: ok, let's be serious. even if you love 'brothers mcmullen' and 'she's the one' (i do), you must admit that 'no looking back' is utterly awful. first, eddie's character wit is nowhere to be found. second, there's no plot development. third, there is no classic burns dialogue ... when you see this film, you'll think, "ohhhh, eddie, never to a film without bahns or mcglone."

anyway ... if you want to see good eddie burns, do not watch 'no looking back,' but do watch the other two movies mentioned above.
