Summary: What are we talking about here people
Review: Now if any of you have ever read one of my reviews you know that I take movies at face value. I don't read into them... I don't look to them for hidden meaning or anything like that. That being said why are we trying to find quality in porn. I know this might come as a shock to you all but this is porn... soft-core safe for the teenager in you porn. Nothing more. Saying that I'm disappointed in this movie is like saying that the production value of the hardcore movies is terrible. Why... Why waste your time reviewing this...get what you need out of it (and you all know what I mean) and move on

Summary: Not What I Thought It Was
Review: Ok, I found out the hard way, but I'm glad I did and now I can move on with my life. Being in love with Krista Allen as I am, I finally saw Emmanuelle in Space on Cinemax, a few of the episodes anyway. So when I found out that First Contact was coming out on DVD, I got it of course. It turns out that this movie is the movie that the Cinemax series is based upon, sort of a "pilot" if you will. Therefore, all of the scenes within the opening credits are from the Emmanuelle in Space series. I hoped the DVD was going to show the best scenes from the series, but I was disappointed. If that is what you want, subscribe to Cinemax. Krista is worth it, because she is extremely nude, plus she has several encounters with other beautiful women. First Contact gets 2 stars instead of 1 because Krista does have one decent love scene in it. I wouldn't suggest purchasing this, guys. Hopefully, the Emmanuelle in Space series will be released in the future. Wait for that! Late!

Summary: This is NOT unrated version! Good movie though!
Review: Though it is a great movie, There was a mistake by the video manufacturer. The DVD is marked UNRATED at 93 minutes, when actually the R-Rated (Edited) version, which is 77 minutes, was put on the DVD! Im not sure if this was a mistake or what! But this is definatly the "Blockbuster" version. Keep this in Mind!

Summary: Thoughts on the Unrated VHS
Review: To start with, I never saw the Cinemax clips, so I don't know how much is present or not present in the unrated VHS video. However, I did watch the DVD (which is the R-rated version despite Amazon's mistake) and the difference between the two versions is pretty substantial.

Simple things, like full body shots, hints of actual (gasp!) penetration, etc. find their way back into the unrated version. I'm not sure why they were cut in the first place as, even at its most explicit, the unrated version is in no way 'hardcore.'

So, if you are going to buy this movie, I would definitely suggest the unrated VHS, rather than the rated VHS or DVD. It's up to you to decide whether or not to shell out ~$50 for it.

For my part, I would have been much happier if Krista Allen had more of a role: we see more of her having sex during the opening credits than we do throughout the movie, thanks to the convenient plot device of having her change bodies with annoying frequency. Seems to me that maybe Ms. Allen declined to do some of the scenes, or perhaps the studio only had her on contract for a given amount of footage. Regardless, she outshines all of the other women put together, and it would have been nice to have the title character be a little bit more involved in her own movie.

P.S. Does anyone know if this is the first in a series of new Emanuelle films? As mentioned earlier, almost half of the opening credits showed Krista Allen and the lead male doing things which never occur during this movie.

I'm not sure if they were moments left on the cutting room floor, if they were from an earlier Emanuelle, or if they are scenes which will be released in another edition.

Any info would be appreciated.

Review: when i purchased first contact, i was expecting krista allen to be in it. afterall, it does supposedly star her. this was awful compared to the 7-90 minute unedited volumes that i have and i have a lot of them if anyone wishes to purchase them instead of the hacked up emmanuelle: first contact.
