Summary: If It's Cheap Enough!
Review: "For The Moment" is a trip to nowhere. The script creates a main plot which could be worthy of film but then creates so many sub-plots and diversions which are given equal billing, that the main plot is totally sacrificed. The acting (with the exception of Crowe) is right off the high school stage. Zeke's love affair with the local "camp whore/bootlegger" is meant to be touching/romantic but I found it to be fodder for emotional cripples. Several moments make the film worth watching if you can borrow it or buy it cheaply; firstly, the scenery from the low flying plane sequences is superb; secondly, Crowe manages to hold the story together; thirdly, Zeke's incredible, mind bending request of Lachlan(Crowe);fourthly, the "Waltzing Matilda" scene is extemely well done!

Summary: Well developed Character Arc and Echo Relationships
Review: An enjoyable film for the viewer who is interested in character development. It's also a great film to study for its well defined echo relationships. The scenery adds to the beauty and charm of the gently-paced, yet thought provoking topic and era. Well done. Wish there were much more to view by this author/director.

Summary: There was only one good thing in this movie
Review: And that's Russell Crowe, apparently the only real actor in this movie. All the other performances were stilted and wooden. I never felt anything for the heroine except annoyance. Too much time was taken up with a secondary romance. The story was predictable.

Summary: Not just For the Moment
Review: As a big fan of Russell Crowe I never cease to be amazed at this mans ability to get into his character. One can understand why he is the star he is. This isn't a movie for women only, my husband enjoyed it too. Fantastic scenery, great music and a good supporting cast helped make this movie very plausible. The children were a pleasant surprise, considering they didn't say very much, especially the little boy. This is a definite repeater and make sure you have a kleenex handy.

Summary: SWEET & TOUCHING...
Review: Before seeing this film, I was unaware of the training experiences of the Allied forces in Canada. I enjoyed the historical aspects of the film, as well as the beautiful scenery of Manitoba. The story was bittersweet; for in war time, some people are torn apart while others are thrown together. This movie also illustrated that very well. Russell Crowe manages to convey such subtle nuance in his work, and this film is no exception. This is a keeper; one I enjoy viewing when I want to smile through my tears.

Summary: The young Russell Crowe
Review: Bittersweet story of a moment in time - when the world was in turmoil and tomorrow came all too soon. Romantics should turn it off after "Waltzing Matilda".

Summary: Why I bought this film
Review: I bought this film for one reason: Russell Crowe. Not only can he act, he's my age & he's gorgeous. Only problem with the film was all the supporting characters, too much time was given to them.

Summary: Discovering Russell Crowe
Review: I caught this movie by accident on TV while on vacation in Cabo San Lucas. This was before Russell Crowe became a household name. I was smitten by his performance and the movie. I'm a romantic and love comedy. This movie made me laugh and cry. It portrays the very real torment that war brings to families and relationships. It tests your moral values against the cruel reality of war.

I don't care if it's not a megahit or a blockbuster. This movie touched me in many ways and is one of my favorite romantic stories.

Summary: Wouldn't be the same without Canon in D
Review: I first saw this movie because there was nothing else on HBO. When it began, the song Canon in D caught my attention, and I couldn't understand why such a beautiful song would be in what looked like it would be a very boring movie. When I got done with the movie, my eyes were red and puffy from crying. I think each of us can relate (spoiler) I recommend this movie to men, women, children, everyone I know loves it. The movie wouldn't be the same without the music. It seems to compliment it in the best way. I hope all who read this understand that ($) this movie is a bargain. Buy it while you can. I promise, it IS worth it.
