Summary: This movie lacks as the sequel to Gone With the Wind
Review: This movie should not have Gone With the Wind as the prequel. I thought the characters would not act like they did so I was dissappointed. Also, the movie was too long. It is six hours long!

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: A major disappoint!
Review: This movie shouldn't have Gone With the Wind added to it! The movie is definately NOT what Margerart Mitchell would have dreamed up! Scarlett, Rhett, and Ashley. I am utterly disappointed.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: uh, what in the world happened?
Review: okay, i was so excited about seeing this movie, and the first half was okay, but what was with colum dying like that? and lord fenton being murdered, and scarlett getting arrested? where did all that come from? and the girl who played scarlett was not to my liking at all, she tried to do a southern accent, and it was terrible. the first half was pretty much straight by the book, but the last half really made me MAD! well, if you want to watch it i guess just don't compare it to the book, or the actors to Vivien Leigh and Clark Gable. it just doesn't compare.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: If you've read the book, you may not like the movie a lot
Review: The only reason I gave Scarlett 3 1/2 stars is because I have read the book, and although about the first half follows the book, the second half totally departs from it, which I found increasingly annoying. Plus, the girl who played Scarlett was trying to do a Southern accent, and failed rather miserably. In itself however, I still think it is a reasonably good movie, but it could have been better.

Summary: WELCOME BACK SCARLETT! EXCELLENT MOVIE!
Review: When watching this movie "Scarlett", please try not to compare the actors portrayal of these characters to the old actors from the first "Gone With The Wind, because you might be a bit disappointed. If you can do that...then you're in for a real treat. Scarlett gets what she has coming to her and it is her who is in love with someone (Rhett) who doesn't want her back, well at least he won't confess it. Check it out!

Summary: A good movie to watch.
Review: This movie tells what happened after Rhett left Scarlett. And it tells what she went through to get him back. She is still up to her sneaky ways but in the end it pays off because she gets Rhett and they have a new little one to make their family complete once again.

Summary: scarlett o'hara has BLACK HAIR & GREEN EYES
Review: Duh! Could they find an actress with green eyes? Or buy contacts for the new scarlett??? This movie is awful...the book is a little better...

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: GWTW Comix
Review: It seems I remember reading somewhere that only the Bible has sold more copies than GWTW, among books, and no movie more admissions. Don't worry: this effrontery will never challenge anyone's or anything's record. It's to GONE WITH THE WIND as NEW TESTAMENT COMIX is to the Bible.

Summary: Gable and Leigh Couldn't Have Done Better
Review: Gone With the Wind is a one-of-a-kind movie. It cannot be imitated, and even the original stars, acting in a sequel written by Margaret Mitchell, would not have had the same impact. That being said, I thought Scarlett was a great story with excellent performances. I commend the acting of Timothy Dalton and Joanne walley-Kilmer. It is an engaging and fun movie. Walley-Kilmer is delightful as Scarlett O'Hara,(and her Southern accent is impeccable--remember, Vivian Leigh was also English). She brings just the right turn of willful impulsiveness, amazing immaturity, and yet likeableness to her character. We see her grow from a silly girl into a feeling woman, and that is very appealing. Dalton brings a lot more depth, scope, and warmth to Rhett Butler than Clark Gable ever did (both Walley-Killmer and Dalton deserve better sucess in their careers than they have enjoyed). The supporting cast by and large is very good, especially Sir John Gielgood as Scarlett's rambunctious grandfather, Jean Smart as an old friend of Rhett's, and the wonderful Colm Meany as Scarlett's cousin--who also happens to be a priest, as well as a member of an I.R.A. predecessor. Just watching him is worth the price of admission. The story starts at Melanie Wilkes' funeral, and chronicles the lives of Scarlett and Rhett as she tries to get him back, while he struggles to resist her. Their lives meet and separate almost like a dance, until the finale when they come together forever (naturally--who would want to see it if they didn't). The fact that Scarlett grows up, due to the result of mistakes she made in her life , that almost cost her her life, add a believeability to their reunion. That fact makes it real and endearing. Try it--you'll like it!
