Review: This was a beautiful movie. Everything from the storyline to the costumes had me pulled in. The acting was beyond wonderful, it was breathtaking. This has to be one of the best romance movies that I've seen in a very long time. And I've seen more then my fare share. And what it great about the whole thing is that this story it true!

Summary: Number one on my list!
Review: This film is the best one I have seen in a long time. From the beginning it takes you in and you yearn to know more of what it would've been like living in Venice in the time of the courtesans. It's enchanting, beautiful, and full of life. Jaquline Bissett was wonderful!

Summary: A feast for the senses!
Review: An exquisite pictoral essay depicting the age of the courtesan in 15th century Venice. From the moment this period piece begins you are swept away to the canals of Venice by the haunting musical score, the infusion of lyrical poetry, and the brilliant performances of the lead actors. The dialogue is superb and reminds one of Shakespeare's writing style, if Shakespeare were alive today. The cinematography is delicious and expertly done, which adds to the grandeur of the film, along with the elaborate costumes. I was forever touched by this film as it took the true story of Veronica Franco and mingled it with a moral that elevated sex and love and lust above all else as its winning theme. This is by far, a tricky subject to trifle with in today's society and was done so expertly that I marveled at how the audience would walk away applauding this courtesan and her convictions. Truely this film has become my favorite film of all time and one would be forever changed after seeing it.

Summary: Dangerous beauty is a rare jewel of a motion picture.
Review: "Dangerous Beauty" has it all --great performances, a stunning leading lady (Catherine MacCormack), Venice, sex, love, and a carefully crafted script. The story is based on the life of Venice's great Courtesan, Veronica Franco; and if it is not entirely true, it ought to be. What this movie says about love transcends historical fact and becomes a statement of universal truth. "Dangerous Beauty" is for the heart what "A Man for All Seasons" is for the intellect and the soul. Bravo!

Summary: The only danger is to your pocket book!
Review: "Dangerous Beauty" is an enchanting film. The photography and cimematography are expansive and quite frankly, gorgeous. The actors turnn in spirited performances, driving the movie along, not only with diaglogue, but with gestures, costumes, facial features. The story is romantic and inspiring, as well as complete and rounded. A very well told account of the life of Veronica Franco, showcasing talent and ambition. The only danger in "Dangerous Beauty" is to your pocket book!

Summary: Enchanting!
Review: This movie about 16th century Venice, tells the tale of a young woman who, unable to marry her true love because of social status, chooses the life of a courtesan. Under the tutelage of her mother, she learns of the seduction, glamour, and wit, which come with being a courtesan. This beautifully made film keeps the viewer's attention with its portrayal of the romantic splendor of 16th century Venice and the horrors of the Inquisition. A must see!

Summary: Another period piece for modern times
Review: Not only did I have the pleasure of seeing this one in the movies, I bought it and it's a good buy. Based on a novel by Margaret Rosenthal, the Honest Concubine, Dangerous Beauty is fabulously entertaining. Rufus Sewell (of Dark City fame) was great, but it is Catherine McCormick who steals the show!
