Summary: A true depiction
Review: Polly and Tori, and that's just that. This movie is absolutely rivetting. Time after time movie's come out for the hopeless romantic's being played by the hopless ramantics themselves. Then, out of the shadows, over the bar of the cayote ugly, comes this fantastic, TRUE film about the one thing we are all hopeless for, LOVE.
Let us not be political and try to dub this one as yet another lesbian love story for that is not what it is. Take this movie from the big screen and allow it to enter into your life and you will see that the three actresses in this movie played a better part than most people could ever speak honestly about, that is the depth of their love for another person.
This is a movie about the emotional fight between a heart and a mind, the choices some people have to make, and the steps others feel they need to take, just to get by. Let the shakespeare carry you away but not too far from the reality that this movie lends. I believe at one point or another each and evey person who has seen this, has related to it, and if not, than they truly have never known what it is to love somebody mind, heart, body and soul.
This movie will grip you at the spine and it will touch you in your heart. It is focussed around 3 people, polly, mouse, and Tori, and together the three girls show us all the ways there are to love another person.
I would not ever say this was a mellodramatic movie or a waste of my valuable time. This is indeed one of the finest purchases I have ever made and I will cherish this new found classic for years to come. This is not an ordianry love story...no you see folks, this is the story of love. And in love, it's all unconditional.

Summary: Completely Breathtaking
Review: This movie is an awesome, heartstopping, must see film. Piper Perabo's performance is absolutely unforgettable. In this film about three young girls who are living together at a boarding school. Trying to deal with life without the love and support of their families. Two girls are secretely in love until one of their younger sisters see's them in bed together. This is where the story turns. it deals with acceptance, love and loss but most of all dealing with who you are as a person and other peoples views around them.
This is a unbelievable story that will stay in your heart and mind forever. It is must see.

Summary: the truth about boarding school
Review: I didn't like this movie, but for, it seems, all the wrong reasons. As a bad actor, I can't recognize bad acting after it gets a certain point past my level. I recognize that this isn't a lesbian movie, it's about a person in love blah blah blah. No, this movie is laughable to me because I go to an all-girls boarding school. It's an ALL-GIRLS BOARDING SCHOOL. There are going to be lesbians. There's lesbians anywhere. The idea that the topic of lesbianism would be so faux-pas is really, really funny. Perhaps we're out of the ordinary, but at my school it's not a weekend without renting at least one painfully bad (and occasionally surprisingly good) lesbian flick - this was one of them, a year or two ago. Sure, it's possible that in an uber-conservative school, the first reaction of the student body might be shock etc etc, but within days there'd be people crawling to Paulie to ask nervous questions - "so is it true you're in love with Tori?" and the reaction would be less "you pervert" and more "wow, you're awfully brave" - even from the woefully uneducated.

All that AND it's ridiculously melodramatic & the Shakespeare is insanely overdone. And the crow imagery. Enough already. This movie is easily summarized: girl 1 meets girl 2. Girls fall in love. Girls smoke pot on the roof of their school (oh please - get real). Girls have obligitory steamy sex scene (and not a very realistic one at that). Girl 2's sister walks in on girls the next morning. Girl 2 freaks, dumps girl 1. Girl 1 doesn't get it. Girl 2, meanwhile, is doing whatever possible to disassociate herself from "lesbianism" and girl 1, including having sex with a random guy against a tree, while girl 1 watches. Girl 1 comforts herself by reciting Shakespeare and communing with a crow. Melodrama escalates.... Credits roll.

Save yourself the hassle of even renting this movie. It's not worth it.

Summary: Most underrated film of 2001
Review: This a gem of sexuality, sensitivity, adolescent love, and forbidden love, and a treasure of symbolism and coincidence. Some of the songs are unforgettable.
It all fits together in such a subtle manner that many viewers may miss it. This is a gem of a film. Piper Perabo delivers lines in a manner reminiscent of Shakepearean trajedy. Her performance is perfection. Unforgettable.

Summary: Interesting
Review: I just caught the movie on HBO, I thought it was interesting. I've seen better, I've seen worse.

What really captivated my attention was the use of the music in the film. There was one song played during the film early on, and then it was again played after another similar sounding song at the end credits.

If anybody knows who did this music, espescially the end song of the credits, please e-mail me...

Summary: UNIQUE, MAGNIFICENT AND VERY MOVING
Review: This highly romantic and very sad story of "Pauline in love with Tory" takes you back to the times of the faithful and brave knights who defended their honour at any price.
The scene taking place at the library and the final sword desperate confrontation let me breathless ; so did the aesthetic quality of the filming and the outstanding soundtrack which compose a very emotionally overwhelming ensemble.
The "eagle fly" scenes are so symbolic that they engrave on your memory forever.

THIS IS A VERY INTENSE AND BEAUTIFUL FILM !
The three protagonists : PIPER PERABO (Pauline), MISCHA BARTON (Mouse), JESSICA PARE (Tory) are remarkable performers.
PIPER PERABO (I also saw "COYOTE UGLY") is definitely one of the best, intelligent new generation performers and is for sure destined for a successful carreer ("on stage theatre" included).

"LOST AND DELIRIOUS" IS ONE OF THE BEST FILMS I EVER SEEN !
It goes far beyond the question of the so called "sexual orientation" : it gives you the opportunity to think about anyone's choice, despite the politically correct "air du temps".
I JUST HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS DVD !

Summary: The best movie I've ever seen in my whole life!
Review: This is a story about Paulie and Tory, who are room mates on an all-girls boardingschool in Canada. They're secretly in love with each other, and if someone finds out, there will be a living hell... so, one day, a shy girl called Mouse comes to the school. She will share room with these two love birds. She sees their love for each other, of course, but she doesn't care. It's when Tory's little sister sees them in bed naked, the hell begins. Tory tells Paulie they can't be together anymore. Never again. This breaks Paulies heart. She is hysterical... starts to quote Shakespear, starts to think that committing suicide is the best thing...

What happens after that, you can see in the movie. I strongly recommend you to see it, because it's a memory for life, and you will definitely cry all your tears out in your body, this is a really tragical, wonderful movie with a BEAUTIFUL soundtrack, such as Ani DiFranco - You had Time, and a wonderful indian-sort-of song that I don't know the name of...sorry for my bad english but I'm just a girl from sweden... :)

Summary: haunting
Review: This movie is just beautiful. It seems unfortunate that is has been labeled a "lesbian" movie here on Amazon.com, because, really it is a story that transcends categorization intentionally. To quote one of the main characters, Paulie, "I'm a lesbian, that's what you think? ... I'm Paulie in love with Tori...remember?." And later shes states that, "love just is." Sex and sexuality aren't the focal points in this movie, although they naturally play a part. It is a classic, a tragic and deeply moving love story. It is brimming with passion and spirit. I was drawn into Paulie's (Piper Perabo) world to the point that I felt as if I knew her personally, as if she were real. She is unforgetable, the movie made me want to know her.

To the critics who say it's over the top - duh! It's supposed to be. It's a modern day tragedy/romance. Hence the contant referneces to classic dramas throughout the movie. That is the nature of such dramas - to push the audience to the far reaches of human emotion, to pull us out of the mundane, and refresh our spirits. However, this movie is just as real as it is dramatic. The characters are easy to relate to, and the story is very believable. Personally, I think it's one of the best movies I've ever seen...it's addictive.

Summary: Awesome movie
Review: I caught this movie on HBO, and after watching it I can honestly say it is one of the best movies I have ever seen. Piper Perabo's performance was utterly amazing - she is not only beautiful, but very talented. If you're a hopeless romantic (like myself) you will relate very well to the story. It is a tale of love and loss. And it also makes a strong statement on how we define "love". I definitely recommend this movie - don't pay attention to the bad reviews written by wannabe film critics!!
