Summary: STRICTLY BALLROOM ON ICE!
Review: This was one of the most romantic, good feel movies I have ever seen. It follows a similar story to that strictly Ballroom, but ten times better. If you love movies like the aforementioned and Dirty Dancing then you must see this. The flm forms great character development due to an excellent script which is delivered brilliantly by an inspired cast. You find yourself almost bonding with the characters which means you really do get involved in the movie, almost to the point where it feels like reality. I really hope that this will get a DVD release soon as I find it hard to think of a more deserving film. But don't wait, get the vhs version now.

Summary: Just Right
Review: This movie has been my favorite for many years. It isn't high speed or extremely dramatic, it's simple and very well done. I love the casting in this film, especially Moira Kelly. This movie is perfect for a day thats totally relaxed, but its also really up beat! I wish they would've told us more about the couple after the olympics, but oh well. You will love this movie if you like watching movies that have perfect timing and dont go too fast or too slow, and you like watching normal people fall in love. But if you like ice skating and sports competition, you'll love this movie even more. Give this movie a chance, and you'll be delightfully surprised at how good it makes you feel at the end!

Summary: A Disappointment
Review: Having done figure skating for many years of my life, I was looking forward to seeing a movie about the sport, but this one definitely failed to deliver. When it origianlly premiered in the movie theaters back in 1992, I was 12 and thought it was the best thing since sliced bread, so about 10 years later I decided to buy it on DVD. That was definitely a mistake! This movie lacks a lot of the sophistication that an adult viewer may appreciate. After seeing it again as an adult I realize how unrealistic, over dramatic and predictable this film is. I mean to start with, how and why did an Olympic level pairs skater become partners with an injured hockey player to begin with? In real life that would obviously never happen. The movie has a few funny moments, however it's very cheezy. Truly a disappointment. If you insist on seeing this movie, I would highly recommend renting it first.

Summary: Two words: Toe pick!
Review: If you want to see a critically acclaimed film with fantastic acting, etc, etc...then this movie is NOT for you. If you like movies with a lot of fun, wit, quotable lines, and chemistry between the leads, then run out and buy or rent "The Cutting Edge." This movie is a favorite of mine, just because it's a fun, romantic comedy about one of my favorite sports, ice skating. And you can't beat the dialogue and chemistry between Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney. It's an extremely entertaining love/hate relationship that never gets dull. The phrase "toe pick" alone makes the movie worth watching. (Those who have seen it know what I mean!)

Summary: Buy this movie!
Review: I saw this movie years ago when it first came out and really liked it. Then I caught a few scenes on cable a some weeks ago and remembered how much I had liked it the first time. So I bought it and found it was even better than I had remembered. I love this movie! Even my 12 year old son liked it. It is so fun and funny. Really the whole cast is first rate, but the chemistry between D.B. Sweeney and Moira Kelly really shines. You know of course they belong together, but watching them figure that out is most of the fun. The skating is super. Why Paul Glaser doesn't do more films is beyond me. He is obviously a talented director.

Review: The movie was so great for.. it make me inlove specially to KATE(D.B. SWEENEY. She is so beautiful on that movie.. It is the movie that touch me a lot, the soundtracks of a movie and the story. the couple which they fall inlove with each other are mostly common in the movie, but this movie is such thing that u will touch ur heart.. "TOE PICKS".....!

Summary: Sweet, Beautiful, Awesome
Review: The Cutting Edge is my favorite skating movie! It is so funny as well is very sweet! If you like skating or comedy or a nice love story, then u'll love it b/c it is all of those mixed in one! I personaly like it b/c I am a single skater and I know of a hockey player who might end up pair skating with me! It is very possible for someone to switch from hockey to figure skating! And also this story could be true (even though its not) b/c some people do learn things very fast just as Doug does in the movie! It is very sweet and I love everything about it! The best part is, no matter how many times you watch it, you still laugh at the funny parts! Its great & I love "TOE PICK HAHAHAHAHAHAHA" HeHe! Watch it and u'll know what I mean!

Summary: Fun, entertaining movie that brings smiles
Review: Luckily, I saw this movie in the theater and part joke/part enjoyment of the film, bought the video when it first came out. All the people I've shared the Cutting Edge with have enjoyed this fun, uplifting, sappy love story. This is a great movie to throw in to give you a laugh and a smile. The best line...DB Sweeney, the hockey stud at his brother's bar (The Penalty Box), "Well, it's pretty interesting. I've been doing a little figure skating." Hush in the bar. Old man in the background says, "What did he say? Fingerpainting." Once you own it, you'll watch it all the time. Enjoy!

Summary: Funny and not too saccharine
Review: This movie has the best of intentions, and I'm glad to see a little grit and sexiness thrown into the mix. There are not many movies on figure skating, or good ones, so I'm glad to have run across this. Some of the verbal exchanges and put-downs will crack you up: 'Why don't you just chuck it all and open up a think tank?' Very funny. And a little something for both sexes. I don't know how the average female feels about D.B. Sweeney, but Moira Kelly definitely gives the guys something to think about. This movie clips along at a brisk pace and while the drift of the plot is pretty conventional, it has a couple surprises and is a pleasure to watch.
