Rating: Summary: Not All That Great Review: If you are the devoted Paltrow fan, then go for this one, if not, well . . . skip it. I found this film utterly uninteresting. It could have been interesting. The "what if?" movies can always be interesting, but rarely are. This one is no exception. The ending is extremely disappointing and the inbetween time is not too much better. You do want to cheer for the "blonde Paltrow" (the woman that the "brown Paltrow" would be if she had made one tiny decision) at times, but besides that, nothing else really helps the viewer FEEL the story. Thumbs down.
Rating: Summary: Good Film, great story Review: Typically I don't enjoy Gwenyth Paltrow because I am against everything she is. (beautiful skinny blonde actress who is loved by everyone) Strangely though, I quite enjoyed this movie. I love the juxtaposition of the two lives and how different they actually turned out to be. It makes you think how much your life could change just by doing something as simple as missing a train. I like John Hannah, he was awesome and I love that accent. An actor that will go far is what I think about him. This movie is great. It has great scenes, great comedy and a great writing team. Anyone and everyone will like this movie.
Rating: Summary: Delicioso !
Rating: Summary: Sliding Doors Review: This is definetly the very best film I have ever seen in my entire life! It is funny, exciting, and unpredictable. In the first time you'd watch it it would probably appear very confusing to you (it was to me), but after you watch 3 or 4 times, it would be very clear and fun to watch. I see this movie at least 2 times a day an I enjoy it very much. I highly recommend this movie for all people in all ages!
Rating: Summary: Great! Review: I got everything I was expecting out of Sliding Doors, it was a great and easily recommendable film with good performances and a totally awesome script. The whole idea of the film had me intrigued, and from the first minute I knew I was going to like it. Gwyenth Paltrow is almost amazing as Helen, who gets her life split in two parts apart missing a train. I rate Sliding Doors 8 out of 10. It is a devine and charming peice of film that almost any viewer will enjoy.
Rating: Summary: My very favorite movie! Review: Sliding Doors is a very human drama/comedy. I love this movie because it is so real. Gwenyth Paltrow gives what I would consider to be the best performance of her career to date in this film. The music, storyline, and beautiful scenery truly make this a movie for all romantics.
Rating: Summary: Sliding Doors Review: I loved this movie! I think it was a simple yet excellent interpretation of how a basic event like missing or catching the subway train home from work can change the course of your life. Altough it follows two story lines, the movie is still easy to follow and comprehend despite the initial confusion at the beginning. Hey, everyone has their different opinions, even so called "professional" movie critics. This one is worth checking out for yourself. Superb performances from Gwentyh Paltrow and John Hanna carried me along rather nicely through the movie. You'll love John Hannah's witty phrases. Sliding Doors is a must buy for the home movie archive. Check it out!
Rating: Summary: This movie doesn't deserve any stars! It stank! Review: It was sick, depressing, annoying, and not to mention rotten! so that's what I have to say on the subject!
Rating: Summary: A film to enjoy and wonder about Review: I really enjoyed Sliding Doors because it plays on the "what if..." The way your life can change if you do this, or if this had happened is always something yhou think about, and I liked the way this is dealt with. The only downside is that Sliding Doors was released at the same time as the British film "A second chance to fail" which in many ways plays on the same subject. You could almost think that the two directors had talked to each other on before hand, and this takes some of the originality out of Sliding Doors. Sliding Doors is still a great film, which I deeply recommend. I even have it at home and watch every month or so, when I feel that my life is too messy!
Rating: Summary: Cute Review: Not an amazing movie but definitely endearing, great for a rainy day. The highlights of course are John Hannah and Gwyneth Paltrow. After his uninteresting character in Mummy, John Hannah surprised with a wonderful, cuddly romantic lead, just the kind of guy you would love to bump into but wouldn't be afraid to actually talk to. Gwyneth Paltrow continues to amaze by her range, she is equally capable of being glamorous or plain. Very few contemporary actresses seem to have her range.
