Summary: Keaton - great; Nicholson - great; Reeves - not so great
Review: I am normally one of these people who cringe at people of a certain age 'making out' or heaven forbid, 'doing it'. I was going to scream if I saw Jack Nicholson naked. Thankfully, we didn't, (...) And the [adult] scenes were done tastefully, and was quite sweet at the same time. Diane Keaton is also very brave, as she appears naked in this, which is quite a funny scene when Jack sees her naked. It takes a brave woman of her age to appear naked, especially when she's approaching 60!

I'm not normally a great fan of Jack Nicholson, ask anyone and they will tell you his eyes totally freak me out! Don't ask me why! But I loved him in One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, and this too - and there were two other Jack Nicholson movies in the "previews", Anger Management and that other one with Helen Hunt.

There was a great supporting cast in this, including Paul Michael Glaser (Starsky for all you fans out there) and Jon Favreau, both who's roles could have been expanded, to have a bigger part in the movie.

I was pretty disappointed with Keanu's role in this. He basically gets messed about by Diane Keaton's character, and his role at the end just gets left hanging. Hello, he proposed, he's not going to give up without a fight!

At 2 hours 8 minutes long, this film was about 20 minutes too long. After Diane & Jack 'get it on', the scenes which appear afterwards are just stupid, and the scene where Diane cries is just plain embarrassing.

If you're an old romantic at heart, you'll get quite teary by the end of the movie. If you're not - then you'll probably hate it.

Summary: not a bad nicholson performance but
Review: hey, i don't think keaton did a good job. she's too over-acting, too unconvinciblely performed as a playwriter. but nicholson, well, this guy is so fantastic! in 'about schmitt(?)' he just looked like that pathetic new widower, in this movie, hey, a fantastic old playboy! anytime when keaton was on the screen, what i saw was an over-acting, trying-very-hard-to-be-larger-than-life person. but there are so many mature female actresses who could do better and more naturally, not like her gigerly-gingerling lumpy-mumpy performance that made me feel very uncomfortablely false and phony. and also, the final scene of three generations in the restaurant should be cut and deleted, the final scene should be on that romantic french bridge... to nicholson, this is another 5 stars performance, as to keaton, sorry, my man, even 3 stars is kinda over-rated.

Summary: Funny, very.
Review: Wow, what can I tell ya. After "What Women Want" I thought Nancy Myers had achived her masterpiece, but now she delivers "Something's Gotta Give", a great, great odd romantic comedy. It is even better than "Three Men and a Baby"!
It is a shame though that Keanu Reeves hasn't got too much time on screen; they should have given the role of Jack Nicholson to him, and make him look older on some way, with make up. Neo is "The One", he can do anything, so the question I leave pending here is: why didn't he have the main role in this movie? Interesting, very interesting stuff.

Summary: A little bit long, but don't let that stop you!
Review: Something's Gotta Give is one of those sweet comedies that you watch again and again, with your familie, alone, or with friends. It's not stupid, nor is it very inteligent; it's about life! Diane Keaton and Jack Nicholson give a boost to the picture with their perfect performances, and although the movie is a bit long, you don't regret watching it in the end.

Summary: Worth Buying!!!
Review: WONDERFUL...WONDERFUL....
As a single divorced woman in her 50's I found this movie so honest and real. Sure it's not all fun and games to be in this spot in life, but the movie was true and moving. Don't listen to "moviegirlll" She has to be one very bitter gal.

Summary: Wonderful Film
Review: This movie was so fun for my entire family. Probably the most enjoyable movie of the year. The storyline was very solid and the characters were captivating. I laughed out loud while watching this film and you will too. This is a must buy for a Jack Nicholson fan and for any fan of excellent comedy that actually has an excellent storyline to go along with the laughs.

Summary: Jack Nicholson, finally on widescreen?
Review: He he he, he he he. Jack Nicholson on widescreen. I think red dragon had widescreen also. This is a laugh out loud movie about a man who is a pimp, who doesn't pay no one and gets all the ladies. This is a comedy classic. Funny! Applaud! If you liked the movie, ye-haa. TO be honest, I didn't see the movie in theaters, only on dvd. Buy it or don't buy it, i'm just speaking my thoughts.

Summary: Can't wait for the DVD...though I've already seen it 4 times
Review: None of that 'You've got Mail' whimsical crap in this movie, thanks goodness!

Keaton's a bit too high strung, though I definitely hope to look as sexy (and lovable and cute) as her in my fifties! Boy can she cry!!! Nicholson somehow manages to find such a way with words that he transcends the script to another amazing level. What a talent! Frances McDormand was underused but the movie was long enough as it is and her big scene was stellar.

I'm 21 and I've watched this movie 4 times in the cinema. Not because I'm bored but because I felt that tug at my heartstrings everytime I watched the relationship develop between the two leads. It's delightfully complex, as it should be, and I could identify with the rawness of opening up to another person, so this flic isn't just for the baby boomers.

When was the last time I watched a movie 4 times? ...in another planet probabaly. When was the last time I watched a movie more than once? That was so long ago I can't remember the title of the movie.

It's not surprising that I still love listening to the soundtrack...though Jack N. crooning La Vie En Rose wasn't the best addition to a great compilation.

I don't know how Nancy Meyers can top this movie in her next effort, by boy do I sure hope she manages somehow. She has just raised the bar for romantic comedies...no more sitting through flaky movies of this genre, I'll just pop home to watch SGG on DVD, when it's released...in the meantime, the movie's still enjoying a wonderfully long screening here in Melbourne!
