Rating: 5 stars
Summary: 5 stars ONLY for the film itself BUT 1star for DVD Transfer
Review: The DVD Transer quality is beyond awful! The movie itself
is excellent! What else could you expect from The brilliant David Lynch? I bought this film because I'm clearly a David Lynch fan, BUT the DVD quality is just sooo bad it makes it extremely difficult to watch. With terrible quality like this (from a DVD) - you might as well get the VHS.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Wait for the American release !
Review: The movie is Perfect ! there is no doubt about it, but the video in the Canadian version [is bad]! the VHS version is better in this matter, the audio is OK, the lack of special features is depresive, there's no caption or subtitles in any language wich helps in the beginning when the caracters wisper all the time. I suggest you contain your craves and wait for the american release, it's always better.

Summary: Canadian Version is Terrible! Not worth your $
Review: The movie itself is fantastic. Lost Highway is a beautifully designed film executed with skill in every area. See it. However, the Canadian DVD release is probably the worst DVD I have ever seen. For starters it is in 4:3 ration instead of widescreen 16:9. Secondly, the film transfer is terrible. It almost looks worse than VHS. Truly a terrible picture. Sound is just fine although nothing special. Judge for yourself, but I think you would be better off waiting for an American release (hopefully with widescreen and significantly better picture quality).

Summary: canadian version bad
Review: the picture quality looks like they took it from a very used copy of a vhs and the sound is not 5.1. I am very disappointed.

Summary: Brilliant
Review: this film isnt for Everyone!!! but I like how Lynch can make the viewer glad its JUST a movie, (or is it?), how many nightmares seem real at the time? Lynch makes his films with a "Dream" type of storytelling, things arent always as they seem!, whats real? whats reality anyway?...I like this film because I like to watch GOOD characters get thrown into hellish situations, and then watch how they deal with it! how would we???

Summary: A Great Movie, A Horrible Disc
Review: This is a good movie. It's confusing, strange, and occasionally creepy, but hey...It's a David Lynch movie. In truth however, this is weird even for a Lynch movie. I first heard about this movie while read Marilyn Manson's autobiography which mentions he made a cameo as a porn star. Well, the title stuck with me, and after viewing a few Lynch movies I decided I had to see this one. Since I couldn't find a copy of this, I bought the import off of Amazon. I give the movie 5 stars, and honestly the quality of the disc is C-. But I give it 4, cuz I figure once I average it out, it's roughly a B-. Bill Pullman plays Fred. Fred is a jazz saxaphonist, who suspects his wife Renee (Patricia Arquette) of infidelity. The couple begin to recieve videotapes of the inside of their house and them while they sleep and begin to freak out. Fred meets Mystery Man (a very creepy Robert Blake)
and Fred is suddenly convicted of killing Renee. While on death row, Fred literally turns into a different person. He turns into Pete Dayton (Balthazar Getty) who meets Alice, who looks exactly like Renne. Obviously, this movie isn't for everyone. This is the 5th film, i've seen by David Lynch. This is my list of the Lynch movies i've seen, in order of my liking:
1. Mulholland Dr.
2. Blue Velvet
3. Lost Highway
4. The Elephant Man
5. Twin Peaks:Fire Walk With Me
So hey...It ranks #3 on the list. But, the quality of the disc is beyond poor. It looks like they took a dubbed tape and transferred it onto the disc. I think you are better off waiting for the american version to be released. It it ever is.
C- for disc. A- for movie.

Summary: Lost Movie
Review: This is my theory on David Lynch. He is either the greatest filmmaking genius of our time, or he is completly insane. Take your pick. "Lost Highway" is a very deep movie that relies almost completly on the moment, what is happening now. As a whole coherent story, it would be hopeless to try to give a synopsis. I think it is basicly a nightmare caught on film. It is not logical; the concept of time is meaningless; and characters are literally interchangeable. It is hard to say if the actors did a good job or not because a lot of what they do makes no sense, but it was designed that way. I remember reading an article where Bill Pullman said that no one knew what the story meant. I believe it. Patricia Arquette plays two women who are the same soul (I think). Bill Pullman is her husband, a paranoid man who is caught up in a mental breakdown. He literally transforms into a 19 year old mechanic in his prison cell (he was arrested for murdering his wife). Then the movie shifts over to the kid's story. He is involved with a mobster (played by Robert Loggia, who actually makes me thing he's related to Frank, the crazy Dennis Hopper character from David Lynch's "Blue Velvet"). And finally Robert Blake plays...um, well, some guy who can literally be in two places at once. He is really creepy in this movie, we're a long way from "Beretta". All I can say is that this movie is all about atmosphere and style over content, and that isn't a good thing at all. I keep thinking that Lynch will make the movie that will make all his other movies make sense. But, good luck trying to guess what it means.

Review: This is one of the best films ever!
Amazing!

Summary: Help is at hand!!
Review: This is without a doubt a superlative film. No questions asked (not that they can be anyway). More importantly: a Dolby 5.1 version (with significantly improved picture and sound quality- widescreen 1.85:1) is available from Amazon.de (that's Germany, but the basic interface is identical to Amazon.com, so decoding the icons shouldn't be a problem). No extras, but it's the mans thing, man. Now we want 'Wild at Heart'. A 5.1 mix and remaster have been created (I hear), so why the WAITING??? Pliz, Pliz wiv a chewwy on topp?!?!?
