Summary: Your heart will be broken............then it will be warmed!
Review: "Homecoming" tells the story of four siblings in search of their
grandmother after being abandoned in a mall parking lot by their
mother who suffers from a mental illness. Led by the oldest
sister, Dicey (age 13), the children travel many miles on foot
to a grandmother they have never known. Anne Bancroft does a
fantastic job of portraying a cranky old woman who has forgotten
what it is to love and be loved. The children do a great job of
reminding her. You'll be impressed by these believable
characters and script. Superb acting! You'll never forget this
family!

Summary: A poignant family drama
Review: Anne Bancroft was terrific. The children in the movie were believable in their roles. I wish there were more movies like this!

Summary: Great drama movie
Review: I don't watch original movies too often, but this was a great movie. It's about some kids being abandoned by their mother, so they must set off on a journey to find her or someone else in the family. They end up at their grandmother's house. They're only supposed to stay there for a few days, but they find out they don't have any other place to go. Dicey (Kimberlee Peterson) and her younger brothers and sister must find any way they can to get along with their cranky grandmother (Anne Bancroft) in order to have a chance to stay there.

"Homecoming" is a real good overall drama movie. Anne Bancroft and the kids give great performances and the movie will keep you interested. If you like good original drama movies, I recommend getting "Homecoming" if you can find it.

Summary: did a good job of keeping to the book
Review: I thought this movie was very similar to the wonderful book by Cynthia Voigt, except that they took out a lot. But they left in all the really important details and some of the same lines, too. Anne Bancroft did a superb job as Gram! I liked the child actors, too, especially the girl who played Dicey. I really liked this movie, but you definitely have to read the book first.

Summary: A great interpretation of the book
Review: I was attracted to this movie because I've always liked Bancroft, but it turned out to be the film adaptation of a book I had read years ago. Normally, I am disappointed with books made into movies, but this was brilliant. A strong child character, but not cloying, and an examination of family dynamics. Dignified and moving.

Summary: A great film.
Review: I was flipping through tv stations one night when I should have been studying for a chem exam and I came across this movie. It was a nice story and very well acted. Kimberlee Peterson and Anne Bancroft were both excellent. I definitely recommend seeing it if you get the chance.

Summary: Homecoming Rules!!!
Review: I was on Spring Break. I wanted to catch up on movies Ihaven't been able to see. This movie caught my eyes at theBlockbuster. I have watched three times before I returned the movie.I fell in love with this movie and the casts. I was able to relatemyself to the movie. I could feel what those kids were going throughon the way to their grandmother whom they haven't seen. Most peopledon't thank for the things they take granted for everyday. I thinkthis movie makes the viewers think about starving, not havingtransportation, being poor, not having a place to sleep, and no familyto take care of them if they were those kids. Some say that Disey istoo young to act like an adult. If anyone were in her shoes, he wouldact like her just to survive and look after her brothers and sister. It was so sad to watch Disey crying at the Yale university. Shedidn't know what to do. She had no money. The guy came to her and...Want to know what's going to happen? watch the movie. I was once onmy own and I had to find everything just to get by everyday. I wasonce starved. I had no money. Fortunately, I had a place to sleep. It was no fun. Those kids are the survivers. They know how tosurvive. I think it'd make them stronger. I was really into it.Anyway, this is a good movie. I would recommand to anyone.

Review: If you like the book, you'll LOVE the movie! Homecoming is just about the sweetest movie I've ever seen in my life, and it's got to be one of my favorites, too. It's impossible to find - but if you find it, go for it! There won't be a dry eye, though, I can tell you that!
