Summary: a very touching adaption of the book
Review: I first found out about a walk to remember by seeing a preview in early January. So, being curious as I am, I went to the bookstore and bought the book. The book was the most touching story I had read in a while and so I set Janaury 25th as a date I would keep in mind. The movie is definitely close to the book but there are some differences. The story is of Jamie Sullivan(Mandy Moore), the daughter of a Southern Baptist preacher who enjoys tutoring and helping out others in her spare time. When Landon Carter(Shane West) is selected to be the lead in the spring musical, he asks her for help which leads them to develop a friendship. The movie does a great job in showing how different people can come together. I was skeptical of how well they would do in creating the story on screen but they did a wonderful job, and I am anxiously awaiting for the dvd.

Summary: A Walk to Remember
Review: It's too bad this film cannot hope to live up to
the book of the same name. However, while it
certainly will be seen by anyone who has read the book,
which is a personal favorite, it stands by itself
as a good Mandy Moore video, for those who do not know her.

I wish there were more to say about this movie. It was one
of my favorite two or three books I have ever read.
Actually, it is probably the best book I ever read.
I've read it at least six times, and discover new parts
I laugh or cry in each time.

For those who have read the book, you will continue
to find this movie a tearjerker. Although I went alone
which might explain it. The kids behind me were
talking... although they were crying too in the end.
And the amazing miracle of this film, like the book,
is no matter how many times, you see it, or read it,
you will amaze yourself with its power anyway.

Mandy Moore is lovely and although people will say she
is too pretty, I don't think that it ruins anything.
She still appears like a total stranger to the high
school cool set and her sweaters are enough to
confuse you. At least for a while.

The coolest reason to go see this is Mandy Moore's singing,
which transforms Landon in the class play. It is as moving
as in the book.

I hope the next time they decide to make a classic
into a movie to take more time and consideration. I
would have been willing to watch a three and a half hour
movie and most teens apparently would. They do not
mind a numbing three and a half hour
Vanilla Sky, Ali, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter.
Why would they have minded seeing Jamie Sullivan do
nice things for another hour so that in the end
we might truly know how much we are crying when we have
to see her go.
I wish this movie could get 4 stars, but I think
that one remains in the sky for Jamie Sullivan.

Summary: Go Read the Book
Review: I read the book back when it was realeased and it was one of the best books I have read and still is. The movie was good, and I think Mandy and Shane did a lovely job. However, the movie was far from as effective as the book was and totally didn't come close to doing it justice. There were also changes from the book in the movie I didn't like, but most were okay. Don't get me wrong, I loved the movie, but the book was 10 times better. So if you loved the movie, you'll REALLY love the book.

Summary: Surprisingly good
Review: Alright, let me start by saying this, I was dragged to this movie by my mother, and I didn't expect it to be even close to decent. When I left the theater I couldn't wait until it comes out on DVD. The acting was great, which I didn't expect from a singer and some other unheard of actors/actresses. I have not read the book, so I can't really compare, but it was very emotional, I almost cried (don't tell anyone). Hell, it'll cost you what, 6 bucks? Go check it out, you won't regret it.

Summary: A Walk to Remember
Review: A Walk to Remember is a very sweet, touching, and passionate movie. Shane West and Mandy Moore shine through portraying the strong feelings of love and caring. They have great chemistry on screen. The feelings are so powerful, they can be seen and felt. I left the theatre in tears. Many say to read the book, then watch the movie, but I saw the movie first and am now reading the book. I got half-way through it in one night! This movie is very powerful and will make you take a second look at life! If you are a romantic at heart, and enjoy a well done drama, then you will fall in love with A Walk to Remember.

Summary: My New Favorite
Review: This is a really great movie - it touches your heart as well as sending a message that true love always lasts. Even though Shane West was a little flat on delivering some of his lines, and Mandy Moore wasn't as pious as Jamie was in the book, it was a wonderfully touching and fulfilling movie. Go see it!

Summary: a sweet and touching love story
Review: i went to see this movie mainly because mandy moore is one of my favorite singers.also because shane west is HOT! and i was not dissapointed. mandy moore does a great job, proving she could have a future as a talented singer and actress, kinda like jennifer lopez. this movie was so good!it made me laugh and cry.the story line was great and the main character, landon, shows boys how guys should treat girls.the only thing i would have to say is not good about the movie, is all the swearing. i couldn't believe it was only PG. but, i guess i could say that the swearing was appropriate for landon and his friends and i was glad that jamie never swore because she was portrayed as a christian. so, all in all, this is a really wonderful film i will probably end up buying, but not great for little kids.

Summary: A new timeless classic
Review: This movie was really encouraging, because Mandy Moore's character was a Christian, who had a powerful influence on a young, troubled man's life. She didn't ram her beliefs down his throat, but lived it out through her commendable character. I rate this movie with five stars because its undeniably worth it. I haven't seen a movie that was clean and romantic in too long of a time. It will give you a renewed sense of faith, hope, and the power of love. I recommend this movie to anyone who is a hopeless romantic, and I suggest tissues! This movie is an eye-watering, spellbinding piece of work. Enjoy!
