Rating: Summary: This film is no "afternoon delight." Review: "An Intimate Friendship" is a "G" rated film suitable for heterosexuals. The main thrust of this film is the "coming out" of a young woman to her best friend and sister. Lots of tangled relationships with over dialog and bad transitions. A low budget Lesbian film. I had to wait 58 minutes for the first Lesbian encounter. Not like I expected a porno flick...but please....arouse me! The film has a good twist if you're willing to wait for the end of the movie. Not a great movie if you're looking for a lot of Lesbian bedroom scenes. This one isn't it. You want hot steamy sex....buy "Bound" or "Therese and Isabelle." Both are available on DVD on this website.
Rating: Summary: Meh... Review: Two things I like to review: the film by itself, then the DVD.Film - To be blunt, this film is a bore. The two main characters have little romantic chemistry. The acting is fair as is the writing. I found little about this movie that would make me care about the characters and the storyline. One good point was that the characters were not completely one dimensional. DVD - Gah! Just the film and the trailer. VHS movies have better features. Would it have hurt to add a little bit more? At least a text document discussing some of the background of the film, perhaps about the woman who wrote/directed the film. Finally, I am not sure if this problem is the fault of the film or the DVD, but the sound of the film was off by a few seconds, making me feel like I was watching an old kung fu movie.
