Review: I saw this movie on xmas eve when I got off work two years ago.Someone give it to my mother for a xmas gift.I couldn't stop laughing at ving in a dress.He was so believable.If you didn't know him,you think he was gay.He was rally good.I have gave the movie to my friend to see.Damn it is good.

Summary: Heart Warming & Aching
Review: From my direct knowledge, being sober for 9 years. I thought this movie was the best realistic performance I have ever seen! I'm a treatment specialist for Addiction and it will be a movie I would show to my clients. This movie made me laugh and cry. Robert Townsend Out did himself with this movie.

Review: I don't often feel compelled to write a glowing review of film, since that's my trade, however I must sing the beauty of both the story and the acting in "Holiday Heart." It is a fine, heartwarming story, brilliantly conceived and executed. Ving Rhames should have been nominated for "Best Actor." This story has edge, grit, beauty and deftly explores the significance of all kinds of close, personal "friendships." I give this film as a gift to those I care about.

Review: I first saw this movie on cable and couldn't wait to get it on DVD. This is one of my all time favorites. Ving Rhames and Alfre Woodward did a spectacular job. Their portrayal was so realistic that I had to keep reminding myself that they were just playing a role. The movie has you laughing, in shock, disgusted, and also crying. I only wish there were some extra features on the DVD.

Review: I first watched this film on television about two months ago and I was surprised by the character departure of Ving Rhames. Usually we see him being a big burly tough guy, so it was very refreshing to see him playing a different type of role. I immediately fell in love with his character and admired him for his strength, tolerance, love, and compassion.I've never been a huge fan of Robert Townsend's movies, but I have to say that I was very impressed with this one. He did an excellent job of directing this heartwarming film. I would highly suggest this film to anyone who wants to see a quality, thought-provoking film about a strong family bond that is created even though circumstances, struggles, and outside forces threaten to tear it apart. Watch this movie! You won't be disappointed!!!!!!!!

Review: I normaly hate watching most tv movies, but as I was channel surfing, one day, I came across this and seeing Holiday (Ving Rhames) saving Wanda(Alfre Woodard) from an beat down, it just stopped me and I began watching. Seeing Wanda slowly go from a women who loves and cares for her daughter, to a druggy and prostitute, broke my heart. And seeing Ving take a role that not many men will do,(except the guys in "To Wong Foo with Love Julie Newmar") that takes guts, and style.

Summary: A great emotional ride from joy, pain to laughter.
Review: I recently saw this movie on cable several times over and just knew that I had to have the DVD. This movie really told a heartfelt story about the need for love, laughter and friends. It's about a homosexual man who unwittingly gets involved in rescuing a former crack addict and her young daughter. Through comedy, drama and need, the plot never gets boring and tells the story about how everyone needs someone, there is no such thing as a quick fix, life happens while you are planning something else and sometimes for the better as well as the worse. The man, known as Holiday, does his best to help a woman recover and stay off of drugs, tries to convince her to take more of an interest in her daughter and in the end knows when it's just best to let go and carry on. He helps the daughter understand more about herself and her mother and what make them different from each other. He is able to convice her through honestly and laughter that she is special and that her first priority in life is to look in the mirror every day and let herself know that the person looking back in that mirror loves herself no matter what in order to boost her self esteem and her fear that she will turn into her mother. What makes this movie special is that is was very well acted with just the right touches of pain, laughter, comedy and drama which takes you on an emotional rollercoaster ride of your own emotions, but still leaves you feeling good when the movie has ended. I highly recommend it.

Review: I saw this movie on BET and I immediately went to amazon.com to see if it was available for purchase. Alfre Woodard and Ving Rhames made this movie so believable. I tell you....both of them did some serious acting in this picture. Too bad it didn't hit the big screen. They would have contended for Oscars!!!
