Summary: Glad I rented it first
Review: I would have to go along with those who said they were glad they did not buy this. Not exactly horrible, but an hour and a half or so of my life I will not get back. Scenery was nice, but I could not hear half the dialog, and what I did hear was nothing to write home about. Do yourself a favor; save your money for something better.

Summary: if you've been through it you'll see it in the film
Review: If you see it in the film then you will understand the silence and the relationships, if you have not been through it may come across as dull and uninteresting. Whatever you take from the film you still have to see it as a personal reflection on the pain some people feel in coming out and having their partner accepted, I enjoyed it, but I like Indy films, I enjoyed it because it made my disfunc family look normal.

Summary: It's just a movie folks!
Review: If you want the world problems solved in 90 minutes then rent another movie. This is a independent movie-aka low budget, little time to shot the thing and new actors. So...as for an indy film it's not all that bad...there were several story lines going but you had to work at finding them.
The part of the film that bugs the heck out of me was the sound quality or lack there of. At certain times, I flat out couldn't hear what was being spoken. Bottom line...it's a rental not a buyer. Rent two movies that night just to be safe.

Summary: The tradition of bad lesbian movies continues
Review: In a word - awful! I tried to keep an open mind about this movie because one of the lead actresses, Nina Landey (Alex) is actually a lesbian in "real life." However, this came no where near to saving this shipwreck of a movie. How awful - let me count the ways.

Production value - fair to middling. It seems the director tried to cover up bad sound quality and poor lighting with panoramic shots of New England (Nantucket?). At least use a boom that works, people!

Acting - melodramatic and over the top. The actors seemed to be sleep walking through their parts and there was absolutely no chemistry between the two leads. They didn't make me like their characters nor did I find them believeable. It was like watching live action anime.

Story - Cliched, hackeneyed, pedestrian, and pedantic pretty much sums this up. Bad soap plot gone lesbo. Casey and Alex (could there be more stereotypical names, please?) are girlfriends living on a boat in New England. Casey's bitchy mother (another major charicature) forces her to choose her family or her girlfriend. Now, I'm not saying this storyline in and of itself couldn't be interesting but the way this movie was executed really brought it down to the level of an episode of "All My Children." (No offense intended to soap lovers but I do expect motion pictures to be a little more dramatically sophisticated).

Any redeeming value? Well, I'm glad to see lesbian movies as always so the exposure and presence is a good thing. Unfortunately this movie bites and it would have been better not to have made it in the first place. Why oh why can't there be a happy lesbian movie?! Is everyone this angst-ridden?

A total waste of time and money. If I could have given this zero stars, I would have. I really hate movies that end up being comedies without trying. Believe me you will laugh at the absurdity of the story and the acting. For a much more interesting movie, watch "By Hook or By Crook;" throw this one into the circular file.

Summary: ok as a drama only
Review: Nice little drama about the ol' family not accepting the gay daughter or her lover. It's ok but don't be fooled by the erotic packaging. This would barely be rated an R. You basically just get some kissing and a real downer ending. If you're looking for a romance or a steamy film, this isn't it.

Summary: The pouting....
Review: The general tone of this movie is morose. There is zero believable chemistry between the Alex and Casey. The acting is generally hideous - count the pouts! The subplot regarding Casey's brother is annoying and largely unnecessary. A lot of potential, but this movie doesn't pull it off.

Summary: Rent first!!
Review: The movie had a few good kissing/cuddling scenes and it showed [body parts] which gave it a plus, but overall, I'd say the bad outweight the good. It was really sad and it had a just plain awefull ending. Rent it before you buy it! Chances are, you won't want to be stuck with it in your...collection.

Summary: Nina Landey is hot
Review: The movie was OK, you could tell it was low budget though. It was pretty sweet and touching, I enjoyed it.

Summary: Poor acting got in the way of a good story
Review: The story really wasn't bad. In many ways, it could be the story of my family. I could very much relate to the intolerant mother but a father who just wants his daughter to be happy. The characters were real people... sometimes likeable, often annoying. I must say, however, that the VERY poor acting often got in the way of my and my partner's ability to thoroughly enjoy the movie. And yes, the ending was a downer, but it was real.

Summary: Another bad Lesbo flick
Review: There was zero chemistry between the 2 main actresses. Nothing happens to create real conflict between them, making the fight between the two women pointless. The only redeeming point to this whole movie was the straight best friend and the bar scene. I guess if I had a family that was this disfunctional, I'd revel in all this drama, but since I consider myself well-adjusted, I see no point in inflicting it upon myself.
