Review: JENNIFER LOPEZ DID SUCH A WONDERFUL PROTRAYAL OF SELENA. IT WAS AS IF SELENA REINCARNATED IN HER BODY. IT WAS PERFECT! AS A MATTER OF FACT I THINK THIS WAS JENNIFER'S BEST MOVIE SHE HAS EVER DONE. A GREAT TRIBUTE TO SELENA! WE WILL NEVER FORGET HER!

Review: My title tells it all. Look there are SO many other great singers ( Christina Aguilera , 3lw , Jessica Simpson , etc.) but Selena was one of a kind. Why? 'Cuase she's the queen of music. Not just the mexican music (which is was and still is) she's the queen of music!!!!!!!! I really wish that I own this movie. I 've seen it like 20 or 25 times (?)
This movie (I think) is my favorite movie of all time!!!!!!!!! If haven't seen this movie (or heard of Selena) where the heck have you been!!!!!!!!!!???????? Buy it and (I garantee you)you WON'T be disappointed or wating your money!!!! P.S. Buy * Selena : The Soundtrack * It's GREAT , too!!!!

Summary: Selena, a star on earth and in heaven
Review: Having been a Selena fan since before her senseless death, I was so happy to hear a movie about her life was being made. Like everyone else, this film absolutely broke my heart all over again, like the day i found out about her death on 3/31/95.Since then I became a Selena collector. I have so much footage abt her, and have been considered a Selena expert. But unfortanately I have yet to purchase the Selena movie, just because seeing someone else portray her, is unneccesary when there is so much great footage of the real Selena.
Jennnifer Lopez seemed to work really hard on the role, but unfortantely in my opinion had a phoniness appearance to her in the film, also her dancing and movements on stage seemed a bit rough, overly dramatic, and a bit stiff. In my opinion Jennifer lacks a genuinity and charisma that seemed to just flow out of Selena. The scene where Selena wins the grammy and gives her speech, was very different in real life, no where near as sappy. Selena wasnt really like that. On stage Selena was comfortable and graceful and offstage a joking and humble young woman. Maybe Im being biased, but either way I think Edward James Olmos was excellent in the film as well as the actress who played Selena's mother.
The only part of the movie that I love is the end when they play Selena's dreaming of you and you see real clips of her. Therefore i would advise for people wanting to know about Selena to buy the documentary on her Selena Remembered or her last concert, both wonderful and truly touching. Also get her Amor Prohibido and Dreaming of you cd....which are so beautiful just as she was. This woman was absolutely amazingly talented up there with Madonna, Janet Jackson, and Shakira. But unique and maybe more amazing then all three combined. She had the full package, the voice, the dancing, the physical beauty, and the wonderful spirit needed to become an unforgettable entertainer. Unforgotten she is .God bless her soul.

Review: This is a very good movie but also a very sad movie. This movie is about the singer Selena, who was a popular singer when she was doing concerts and such back then in the early 90's, but then in 1995, Yolanda Saldevar shot Selena, in Yolanda's hotel room, and Selena died that day. This movie tells everything about Selena's life and when she was a child! And I must say that Jennifer Lopez does a really AWESOME job of acting as Selena in this movie!! So, if you're a Selena fan then you must buy this movie!!! It's a must-see!

Summary: Wonderful Movie
Review: Every time I watch this movie, I cry at the end. It is such a touching story about a beautiful, amazing young woman whose life ended early. Rarely does a movie like this focus on the person's childhood for more than a few minutes. I appreciated that every event built off of the last, from childhood to adulthood. That helped me understand more about Selena and her life. Jennifer Lopez did an amazing job acting for this movie. It's just harder now to see her in this role since she has been in many movies and performs often for her music. Jennifer is her own performer and it's harder to see her as Selena anymore. Anyway, this is definitely a great movie with an awesome cast and a touching story. Not to mention we get the chance to hear Selena's beautiful voice and the music she sang with such passion.

Review: i had the privilege of being an extra in several parts of the movie and actually meeting/having a conversation with jennifer lopez herself. i thought she did a great job and i still cry every time i see the selena movie. it has the strength to make me cry still.....

IF I EVER HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPEAK WITH LOPEZ I WOULD WANT TO TALK ABOUT HER WONDERFUL TALENT IN THIS MOVIE. I HONESTLY HAVE TO SAY THIS IS LOPEZ AT HER BEST. YOU WILL NOT SEE HER IN ANOTHER MOVIE WITH SO MUCH TALENT. I CAN'T BELIEVE SHE PERFECTED SOMEONE LIKE SELENA. UNIQUE DANCE MOVES, THE LIP SINGING, THE POUTTY LIPS AND SO MUCH MORE. THIS MOVIE IS INCREDIBLE. THE OTHER ACTORS DO THE SAME. THERE IS SO MUCH MORE TO SAY BUT SO LITTLE SPACE. I HOPE THE ACTORS IN THIS MOVIE REALIZE WHAT WONDERFUL TALENT THEY ALL HAVE. Summary: Great movie but scenes missing!
Review: I've seen this movie on cable, and loved it. But when I saw it on DVD I was disappointed to note that at least one scene was missing, when they go to live with the relatives and Selena is in school and unable to entiende the español of her classmates. I think was a pretty critical moment and it wasn't included in the DVD. Why cut that? Best scene, with the vatos who Loooovvee 'Salinas'!!

Review: i don't like too many musicals. i cried so hard at this brilliant touching heartwarming masterpiece of a musical drama about the slain singer selena. she was a great singer who lived a life too short for a stupid reason. jennifer lopez couldn't have done a better job in this movie.
