Rating: Summary: The Cinematography Is Excellent. Review: I finally got around to viewing this movie very recently. Horses don't interest me, but this movie deals with much more than just horses. It also deals with human emotions and relationships. I don't think The Horse Whisperer is the greatest movie that I've ever seen, but it is a better-than-good film. The acting by everybody is good, but the thing I really was impressed with the most was the cinematography--it's really stunning and probably the best I've seen in a film. It's very easily seen that a lot of work was put into it--everything from the water to the sky. The story and plot were also pretty good. Not a favorite movie, but still it's more than worth a watch. I actually give this 3.5 stars.
Rating: Summary: What a surprise! Review: I thought this would be another boring "chic flick" but I was wrong. My girlfriend fell asleep and I watched the entire movie. It was very well written with an excellent cast. It casts a spell on you as you watch it and you become personally involved with the characters. It was both everything and nothing that I look for in a movie.
Rating: Summary: still one of the best films of the past several years Review: Compares well with the panoramic, literary, and romantic Out Of Africa -- a meaningful and substantial film, telling a realistic story with grace and compassion. I liked the romance between Redford and Scott Thomas -- the eye contact, the slowly growing together as one overcomes his attitude (dislike) and the other her insecurity. The background music was always appropriate. The landscape shots were wonderful. Is Robert Redford too old for Scott Thomas? Well, it's nice to see a woman romancing a man who is all grown up. Is he too old for romantic parts? No.... Great interactions between man and horse too. Really an excellent film with moral content, unlike the usual Hollywood nonsense.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful film Review: I loved this movie. I'd been waiting for it to come out ever since I'd read the book, and when it finally did, I wasn't disappointed. I liked how the movie stayed close to the plot of the book, with the exception of the ending, and the acting was just fantastic. Kristin Scott Thomas(Annie) and Scarlett Johansson(Grace) especially did wonderful jobs. As for the length, I prefer it the way it is, slow and steady, rather than rushing the plot and cutting out parts like so many movies do today. I didn't really buy the whole Annie/Tom romance thing, but the storyline with Grace and Pilgrim more than made up for it. Overall, this movie is a wonderful way to spend an evening!
Rating: Summary: Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Review: This is a must see movie by all. It held my attention so much that I became unaware of surroundings. I cryed, laughed and cryed some more. Kristin Scott Thomas did a great job against Robert Redford. She is indeed most sexy as a red head. Fantastic movie. I have it watched over and over this last year.
Rating: Summary: Poetic and Beautiful Review: The DVD is of superior video quality and sound. The story is uncomplicated, but unfolds with unparalled affection.Poetic, beautiful, inspiring, romantic, and wonderful. See it.
Rating: Summary: A deeply sensual movie Review: This film held me captivated the entire time. I sat in the theater, and the two and a half hours flew by. This movie reaches deep into the soul, and you fall in love with all the characters, wanting what they want, and despising what they despise. This is a movie for a sunday night show, and I would reccomend it to anyone, who loves a wonderful movie. I give it four stars because there is an occasional slow part here and there, and maybe could be a tad shorter, but is still a great movie.
Rating: Summary: great movie.... Review: i watched this movie about a month ago, and I thought that it was really good. Even though I'm not a great fan of animal movies, this was an interesting movie. at some parts i found "horse whisperer" really slow and I ended up forwarding some parts of it. Overall, it was a good movie.
Rating: Summary: A complete bore Review: This film had a hard time keeping my attention. I was bored to pieces. The ending was really bad. I don't have a problem with slow movies....but this one just left me wanting more than what it had to offer.
Rating: Summary: What a beautiful DVD! Review: A highly under-appreciated film in the industry, "The Horse Whisperer" is a poignant film of beauty and grace. Robert Redford's wonderful movie proves that there is more to life than special effects, and that the majestic landscape of Montana can help to soothe even the most restless of souls, human or horse.
