Review: I love the movie, it was wonderful. I deal alot with horses and think that alot of the things Robert Redford(Tom) was true. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did.

Summary: BBBOOOORRING!
Review: Why one star? Easy... Sam Neill. If it weren't for him, I think it would have been 1/2 star! Of course, what little part he DID have he did well. The movie was too slow for my taste, but that was only part of the problem. There really wasn't much in the way of "horse whispering", and I felt not enough time was focused on the object of the movie's premise... the injured girl AND horse. The relationship between Redford's character, and Ann also brought up some ethical questions. While yes, she did choose her husband over Redford, the fact remains that she did some things that I find questionable. She returns and that's that. Perhaps my beliefs got in the way of a movie that so many find appealing, but even aside from that, I thought it was terribly slow, and not something I wish to view again. Did I mention it's good for insomnia?

Review: I total thought this movie was the best movie EVER!! The photograpy was out of this wolrd!!! I love'd it!!!!! Ever person needs to see this!!! I'm a female and I never cry in movies, but this one, I practically had to leave the room! Great job, Robert Redford!!

Review: Whenever I watch a movie I usually get up a number of times, make coffee, paint my nails or browse through a catalogue - not with this one! I watched from beginning to end without taking my eyes of the screen, occasionally reaching for the box of tissues! Best film I have seen in a very long time but then I am such a romantic...

Summary: Robert Redford vs. Monty Roberts...flaw??
Review: I could not believe that Disney put the Horse Whisper out onto video! The whole book was based on the works by Monty Roberts,it started that way, until Robert Redford got his hands onto it! Then it was totally twisted around! Monty would NEVER treat a horse like what happened at the end (tying of the leg to gain surpremisy). This is a direct quote from Monty himself in his response to "The Horse Whisper"... "I was appalled in the final stages of the book to see the hero, Tom Booker, a character whose horsemanship was supposedly based on mine, go back into the dark ages by roping the horse, tying its leg up and then pulling it down to the ground to lay in total submission. This is the type of "training" my father did. I totally despise these acts. Seeing so much of it in my early days was the very thing that make me decide to leave the world a better place for the horse and educate people against these methods"..."I cannot endorse the film or the message it sends. However, I do encourage everyone to see "The Horse Whisperer" but to see it for what it is. No horse will be further abused because of watching the film. I would also encourage the public to write to Disney and express your opinions. The violent acts depicted in the film are, in my opinion, unquestionably inhumane. My belief is that violence is never the answer"(Roberts,1). Another thing is, if they wanted this movie to be correct, they should of gotten some real-life riders...Scarlett Johnnson did NOT know how to ride at ALL! They should of looked further and worked harder to make this movie politicly correct, because equestrians around the world are outragged!

Review: I first watched this film with my husband on a rainy summer night at a drive-in theatre in Montana. What an awsome setting for a movie as wonderful as this. I would highly recommend it!

Summary: Grace, Beauty, and Technique - A Winner!
Review: I saw "Horse Whisperer" twice in the theater and once on video. Then I did the best thing possible - I read Monty Roberts "The Man Who Listens to Horses." Then I watched the "Horse Whisperer" a fourth time. It all made sense - the technique is real. I have a friend who used the "gentler" technique to gain the confidence of an adopted Mustang filly. It works! I was raised on a horse ranch where old-fashioned macho breaking techniques were used by my father like that of the common old west cowboy, and hated it. This summer I will be getting new horse for therapy riding, and will faithfully use the techniques learned by both the book and the movie. I highly recommend both the movie and the book. (I have not read the novel "Horse Whisperer," and don't intend to - suggest if you really what to understand what is happening in the movie - read "The Man Who Listens to Horses.")

Review: Only Robert Redford could take a well written, captivating book and turn it into a perfect movie. A movie which the whole family can enjoy over and over again. From the tragic family issues to the stunning cinematography this movie will take you through a wealth of emotions. Redford has proven once again that following your heart produces the finest work of art possible. This movie should be in everyones video library.

Review: Robert Redford was the best for this movie and capteured every POSSIBLE insight from the book and did an excelent job directing and acting. He has his usual stand-offish but can't resist personality. Scarlet Johansson was wonderful for her first movie and I hope she has great success! The movie captured real life problems with real life solutions unlike other movies. Being a horse lover, I loved this movie and would give it more than five stars!!!
