Summary: selloutz
Review: im surprised so many people like this movie. its boring and overly dramatic. plus, talk about stereotyping. the three asian males in this movie are a mysoginist, an anal-rententive bald loser, and an old accented chinese dude. garbage.

Summary: This is a must see, one of a kind movie!
Review: I saw this movie in my English class earlier this year, and read the book as well. It is a story of four mothers, who tell their tramatizing stories of their past lives in China and live to tell the American Dream. And is about four American-born daughters who eventually learn about their mothers' pasts and finally understand. The Joy Luck Club is a great movie, and a terrific novel!

Summary: Simplicity still, even in a modern world.
Review: This movie is an important teaching guide for those whose experiences in other cultures, transcends the western world. The stories told by each of the mothers will have you move to tears. Truly a video to watch before Mother's Day.

Summary: A perfect movie about a chinese family
Review: Here is one of the best novels in a movie. I think it deserved a PG-13. Truly great stories from the diaries of the mothers and daughters of Amy Tan's first novel. Last year in the tenth grade, Miss Keifer, our english teacher read us the novel and showed us the movie. Since then, I have read The Kitchen God's wife, and am now reading The Hundred Secret Senses, both of which are by Amy Tan. I wish someone would make a movie out of The Kitchen God's wife.

Summary: one of the best - ever
Review: It took 3 seperate viewings to fully appreciate the complexity of the characters, and to keep them all straight. Just a wonderful movie about survival and womans rights and the lack of them in other cultures.
