Summary: Are there 2 versions of this film?
Review: I absolutely enjoy this movie, but I had noticed a long time ago another version of the film that showed certain scenes. For example Pony Boy having a fever and dreaming of his parents, or the court scene going more in-depth. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of this version. TJ

Summary: i loved movie and actor's
Review: This movie is good because, the actor's to play job perfectly.Ralph Macchio is emotion in the job of Jhony Cade, when he died, dallas don't understand, and he killed too.The history is beautiful and very touching. But the book and the video don't exist en France and I LIKE SO MUCH IS MOVIE, i want read the book and to see again the moovie.I heard that a dvd of outsiders (a rep) was to go out in 2003 for celebrate the 20 years of the movie.I hope he will in French too; if I want that is because the movie est GENIAL and i recommend it.

Review: Well, I must say, the parts of the book they did remember were pretty good. HOWEVER they (the producers/writers/etc.) butchered the parts of the story that made it into a person's life as opposed to a random sequence of events.

Review: I have actually just read the book but I am going to watch the movie for school. By reading the book it seems like it is going to be a good movie. This is about to gangs --the greasers and the socs-- and how they fight, friendship, and the hard times. I hope it is a good movie cause I loved the book. We are also seeing the play too! :) Latta

Summary: ALL STAR CAST RAISES 'THE OUTSIDERS'.
Review: The film may not be as good as the book, but bearing in mind the films shortened runtime, it is still a compelling watch. The film may have dated slightly but it was styled that way. The all star cast is what really makes 'The Outsiders'. Seeing all those famous names and then 'star spotting' as they appear. Actors like TOM CRUISE (Mission Impossible, MI2, Top Gun), MATT DILLON (Something About Mary, To Die For, RumbleFish) and DIANE LANE (Perfect Storm, Murder at 1600, Streets of Fire) have all become big stars, and PATRICK SWAYZE, ROB LOWE, EMILIO ESTEVEZ, C THOMAS HOWELL, and RALPH MACCHIO didn't do badly either for a while. How much would a movie with this cast cost to make today do you think? Million$$$$$$!! Good flick - check it out for several reasons.

Review: Hi! I really loved this movie. I first read it for literature class, and I totally loved the book. My teacher brought the movie to school so that we could see it. I totally loved the movie too. I mean it did miss a few parts, but overall it was a great movie. And you really should not underestimate it. You couldn't get a better cast then what they had! C. Thomas Howell(which is totally hot!),Ralph Maccio, Patrick Swayze, Rob Lowe, Matt Dillon, Tom Cruise, and Emilio Estevez. You cannot find a better cast than that anywhere. ...

Review: Its a great movie, from a great book, but the cast is one of the finest I've ever seen. Matt Dillon, Emilio Estevez, Tom Cruise, Rob Lowe, Patrick Swayze, what more can you ask for? Only thing I didnt like was some of the sappier moments, and I thought Johnny and Ponyboy got kind of annoying. I appreciated that the movie stuck with the book on most points, and I believe what they did cut was not crucial to the understanding of the film. All I have to say is that the cast is what made this movie the best so I definitely recommend you watch it. One of the best groups of guys EVER!!

Summary: A bunch of talented young actors in a great story
Review: This movie was the launching pad for the Brat Pack, a group of very talented young actors, some of whom have lived up to the promise they showed in this movie. Like most movies, this adaptation of S.E. Hinton's adolescent novel doesn't quite live up to the quality of the book. However, to include all that the book included, you'd end up with a movie that went beyond the attention span and patience of many in the target audience. If you haven't read the book or seen the movie, please do both, but see the movie first so that it won't be a disappointment.The Outsiders addresses many issues critical to pre-adolescents and adolescents, like image versus substance, assertiveness versus aggression, and the importance of belonging and acceptance.
