Rating: Summary: "Sweet-est" Review: Sure you might think that Cruel Intentions 2 is a rip off from Cruel Intentions, but I don't care. Cruel Intentions 2 is a rare and very clever and seductive prequel. When I heard about Cruel Intentions 2 from a friend I just had to see it! I seen Cruel Intentions and I LOVED it! It was my FAVORITE movie. So I didn't really care if Cruel Intentions 2 was a rip off! So I went to Blockbuster and searched for Cruel Intentions 2 and I couldn't find it. I asked someone who worked there and they said that all they had was 3 Episodes of "Manchester Prep", The TV show based on the movie. I watched the episodes and I LOVED the show. So I started to watch it on TV and then on a day of the week gthe TV show didn't come on I soon realized that it was canceled due to its content. I was VERY VERY mad. I loved the show. So I decided to see the movie. I FINALLY found it at a cheap VIDEO store down my block so I rented it and watched it. I LOVED IT! I loved Amy Adams and Sarah Thompson, (Kathryn Merteuil) (Danielle Sherman) I LOVED it do much that I searched for bith movies on eBay. Finally I found a Cruel Intentions/Cruel Intentions 2 DVD BOX SET. I had to win it!!!!!!So I ended up winning it! I LOVE the box set. I watch both movies every day. I dont know what everyone is talking about! Amy Adams, Robin Dunne,Sarah Thompson, and Keri Lyn Pratt were GREAT in the movie! For first time movie actors they were GREAT!!!!!!!!! Amy Adams was truily seductive and thye filming of the movie was great!! And Sarah Thompson was a great (VIRGIN) in the movie. Though I didn't like Robin Dunne. But it doesn't matter I LOVED THIS MOVIE!!!! XO I dont care what people say. Cruel Intentions 2 is great.
Rating: Summary: a prequel? Review: this is a prquel to a very good movie. It is obvious at the end of the first one there is now way there could be a real sequel. Through and through this movie holds in there and while never comming close to the original is entertaining and a must for fans of the first
Rating: Summary: Ripped Off Review: Ok, I don't know what other reviewers are whining about it was a great movie, it makes me think of the possibilities this failed series could have had, because Cruel Intentions 2 was probably the pilot for Manchester Prep. with new scenes added, but just imagine we could no what made Sebastian so evil. I mean the actors were different but Cruel Intentions 2 takes place 2 years in the past so your bound to lokk different, and there some images out there with a black character which makes me think what this series could have been
Rating: Summary: Steamy Prequel Not All It's Cracked Up To Be Review: My friend and I are both huges fan of the original Cruel Intentions. When we discovered there was a prequel went to our local video store and rented it expecting the same quality and plot the original had. To say the least we were disspointed. This movie takes the steamy, exotic scenes to a whole new level. Although the original Cruel Intentions did revolve around sex there were lines they did not cross. Cruel Intentions to not only crossed them, but they ran. It provides cheaps laughs and fan service involving two twins in the shower and a young girls first horse-riding lesson turning into anything but pure. And we mostn't forget the park bench scene or the group action at the end. Also, if you've seen the original movie you will notice how complete scenes have been slightly rewritten and placed into this movie. The entire first scene was a carbon copy of the original. The ending was a twist and tainted everything pure you had seen in the first half of the movie. All in all, if your a fan of the first movie and not upset by nudity or crude, visual humor then you may find this movie amusing. Just don't expect the same quality as the first.
Rating: Summary: I was plesantly surprised Review: I have to say that I was plesantly surprised by this movie. I wasn't expecting much when I first saw this movie. But, I think that it actually rates really close to the original. Don't get me wrong, there are some holes in the plot. But, I have to say this movie actually kept my attention all the way through. The writing was clever. Although I thought there were way too many ripped off lines from the original. Overall I liked this movie. I would recommend it, just to see how you like. This movie you will either love or hate.
Rating: Summary: This movie is sweet Review: I've seen the first Cruel Intentions and I loved the movie, then I saw Cruel Intentions 2 at Blockbuster and I just laughed and rented it to see how bad it was. It takes place before Cruel Intentions 1, where Sebastian first meets Kathyrn and so on. I turned it on and at the beginning it looks like a complete rip off from the first one. Using the same lines, and completely different actors, but as the movie went on it got better and better, it turned out being one of my favorite movies. It's a lot funnier then the first one. This is a must see, espically if your a teenage guy. By the way, I dont know what these other reviewers are talking about...
Rating: Summary: Decent for a TV Show Review: For being a scrapped TV show turned into a movie, it wasnt that bad, I know Ive seen worse!! My only problem with it was the lame jokes (plenty abound)and recycled plot lines and jokes ("this sure dosent taste like a iced tea", "Its from long island") Coming from the same team except for the actors, Who incedently arent that bad, its just the material they have to work with, I expected a little better. Some of it was interesting but overall not a very good prequel. And they show like 20 scenes in the preview that arent even in the movie, including those scenes might have made the movie more interesting and a little longer that 87 min.
Rating: Summary: It's destructive, but not seductive Review: CRUEL INTENTIONS is my all time favorite film. I have memorized every line from that movie and still watch it on a regular basis. I had heard about MANCHESTER PREP, the TV series based on the movie that got axed before it even aired, and just expected it to go away without a fuss. Then I heard about CRUEL INTENTIONS 2 and upon further investigation learned that it was the TV series made into a movie. I rented it, not expecting much, because not ONE person from the original was returning and the cover looked really corny. I put it in, and in the first five minutes I felt cheated. It was basically the beginning of CRUEL INTENTIONS set in a principles office with actors no one knows. This seemed to be the underlying theme of this movie, because every five minutes some character would half heartedly spout out a line that we all heard in the original. The story line is EXACTLY the same (devirginizing the naive one, and falling in love with the headmasters daughter-sound familiar?) as the CRUEL INTENTIONS plot. What makes me even madder is, despite the fact they tried to tie in this movie with its precedor, it made no sense when compared. These were two movies with the same story line that couldnt be less connected if they had two different titles. Besides making no sense compared to the original, it also makes no sense compared in itself. The ending for example, was just the writer trying to introduce the element of suprise when really he ended up butchering everything. It made no sense. I wouldnt recommend this to the people who starred in it. They should be ashamed that they bring such shame to the orignal. And whats most suprising it was written by the same guy. The acting was bad, as was the chemistry between the actors, the script was worse, and it didnt work in with the orignal. Stay away from this. If you want to be seduced (see tagline for the film) then go watch a porno flick because thats basically all this is minus any originality or sense.
Rating: Summary: Truly an incredible film Review: Definetly a good movie. The beginning is kinda weak ,but the more you get into the story the better it gets. The end has a sudden twist that will make you flip out of your seat. After watching it you crave for more of it.
Rating: Summary: This is a horrible attempt to duplicate a great original. Review: Let me start out by saying that if you enjoyed the first, you will hate the second. It is a pathetic attempt at all aspects of a sequel. The writer should try and find another profession, and the director should never work again. And please, don't even get me started on the acting. I love movies, and you can rest assure that this movie will not be enjoyed by anyone who either saw the first, or has any taste whatsoever. They start the movie out the same way as the first (without any of the original actors I might add) and they use the exact same lines and situations from the original. I counted over 10 times that they duplicated lines and phrases from the original. I only gave it one star because one star is the lowest...and I am being grasious at that. The writers, directors, and actors are all horrrible. Ryan Phillipae, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Reece witherspoon are fantastic firsts and are the only ones that can do justice. To the original actors, writers, and directors, I hail you. To the sequel people: get a new profession because the current one is not going anywhere.
