Summary: THE STORY LINE IS GREAT!!
Review: THIS MOVIE WOULD GO RIGHT UP THERE WITH "NEW JACK CITY" OR "JUICE" OR EVEN "MENACE II SOCIETY" EXCEPT FOR ONE THING.....NOBODY COULD ACT!! IT SEEMED TO ME THAT EVERYBODY OVER-DID THIER PART...THEY TRIED TOO HARD OR SUMPTIN'. BUT THE STORY ITSELF WAS OFF DA HOOK AND THAT'S WHY IT STILL GOT A "4" OUT OF 5!!

Summary: Slick debut, but poorly conceived
Review: Ultra-cool cinematography is what makes this flick worth seeing. From the thermal visuals of the opening club shootout to the rusty, corroded ghettos of Jamaica, Belly is magnificent eye candy. I love a director who isn't afraid to experiment! But, alas, the plot is thin, the dialogue thinner and many crime drug themes are stolen from other crime classics (see Godfather, Scarface, Goodfellas). And I couldn't understand what the hell that Jamaican kingpin was saying until subtitles were added late in the movie! Nice try Hype. Try getting Scorcese to write your next screenplay. That might be something worth a theater release.

Review: If you havent seen the movie Belly you havent completed your life. To all the Hip Hop Heads this movie is a must to have in your collection. If you smoke trees this is the ultimate movie to buy. Hype Williams did a magnificent job making this movie every scene is like artwork from a museum. The story line is bad (as in cool for all the non hiphop headz) it is so detialed that you have to watch it over and over and over to get the point, its a very rich and potent movie and may be hard to understand at first but when you watch it over you will find out new things. Belly is one of my all time favorites and if anyone wants to hate on it, I wish for something to explode in their BELLY! Im out 100%

Review: This is the best movie & has the best cast. Nas & DMX work it in this movie & T-Boz is best. I would buy this movie in a heartbeat b/c it's hot. The plot is madd good but the ending is the best & NAS & T'Boz's relationship in the movie is sweet.

Review: This Horrrrrrrrible movie needs to be buried in the back yard. The music and the all-star cast couldn't even keep me awake long enough to get the point of the movie. If you buy this movie you should consider a brain transfusion.

Review: This isn't your average hip-hop influenced movie. The actors (DMX, Nas, Method Man) add personal experience with the script, showing that they are not just acting something unknown to them. Intead, they give the audience a look back at what these people's lives were about before their musical breakthrough. Also, thumbs up to Williams' directorial debut with his film contrasts and angles. Go see this movie, you'll be glad you did.

Review: The fast paced adventure of 2 friends destined to totally seperate paths are connected by money, drugs, and the need for power. Power of the mind and power of the pocket! DMX, Nas, T-Boz, and Method Man did superior for first time major acting debuts. Taral Hicks, as a veteran of the big screen did a excellent job as always! "BELLY" is full of action and keeps you glued to the screen. As soon as you hear the acapella singing of Caron Wheeler in the intro you know that the movie is going to be as HYPE as Williams!!!!

Review: THE THEME OF THE MOVIE WAS ALRIGHT, BUT THE MOVIE ITSELF WASN'T ALL THAT GREAT, IT JUMPED TOO MUCH FROM SCENE TO SCENE NOT FOCUSING. IT NEEDED TO BE PUT TOGETHER BETTER. ONE THING THAT I DID LIKE ABOUT THE MOVIE WAS THAT NAS AND T-BOZ WERE MONOGUMUS, YOU DON'T OFTEN SEE THAT IN YOUNG BLACK FILMS

Hype needs only to work on ways to make the language of his films more universally appealing. The dialouge is fine. Well worth seeing.
