Rating: Summary: the best movie ever its the bomb Review: I THOUT IT WAS THE BEST DMX,NAS,METHODMAN, WER THE BEST
Rating: Summary: Great directing, for people who got not enough MTV Review: Like a rush, a superlongextended video-clip, realistic, but only scratchin the surface, U know what I mean. DMX always droppin lines from his last CD, I like that, but I'm not sure what about people who don't know his lyrics, they wouldn't catch it anyway.Nas acts a little unsure and Meth is Meth.
Rating: Summary: The best directed movie, it was like a long music video..... Review: The best movie I have ever seen in my life
Rating: Summary: SOCKED IN THE BELLY Review: Sheesh! Waaaaaaay 2 long, waaay 2 evil, waaaay 2 stereotypical. Let's represent african americans in a positive light for a change. Come on now people, the gangsta thing is getting a little played out now. It was so nauseating hearing the girlfriend speak in such ghetto like dialect. Why not make her intelligent!?! Why does she have to talk like a hood rat who has watched way too much jerry springer. Don't they know by now that this sends a bad message to young people. How are they supposed to grow? What positive role models do they have? "Ghettout" of the ghetto and make a positive film y'all. The only thing i liked about Belly was the cinematography, hence the 3 stars.
Rating: Summary: phat Review: if you like menace 2 society and stuff like that you will like this movi
Rating: Summary: A Masterpiece.- Underappreciated. Review: First off, let's understand, DMX,and Nas, are new actor's, never done anything before, and yet, these two actor's shine in this movie, along with method man,and the rest of the cast, allright to the movie, think of scarface, for the 90's, but that's not even enough about it. - very deep, and emotional, intense, and violent, thought provoking, makes you wonder if you'd be like Tommy, given the opportunity. - Mad Music along with it, By DMX,and Nas,and "Devil's Pie" - Hype williams did a lot with the cinematography, it seems alot of it, is done under a black light, or with a red or blue hue, it really, "draws" you into the picture, and makes you think, WoW..- This is the "must see" movie of the millenium. - Keep Bangin DMX,and Nas, and to fans of the rappers, your going to love this film, even more.
Rating: Summary: Excellent and Different Review: This movie was an awakening to young urban females and males like myself. At first, the movie showed the "perks" of living your life as if it were a rap video but it also showed the consequences of that life style and the choice on whether or not you stay in it. They way it was shot was very realistic since activities of that nature usually happen in that specific time frame and the people, the fashion, and the message was very beautiful.
Rating: Summary: tHiS moViE iS HOT!!! Review: This movie is BANGIN!!If your lookin for a movie based on the life of gangsters and the shit they somtimes have to go through to get higher in power, and what its like to they're family and friends, but with a little comedy, then this is the movie to watch. The best thing about this movie, to make it a good to watch movie, is the director,Hype Williams and starring Dmx,Nas, and Method Man, any movie wit these artists is hot! i would recomend this movie only to those seriously into the rap world, if your not... dont even rent this movie.
Rating: Summary: I'm not go lie to you Review: This movie wasn't garbage, this movie was not the bomb. It had the usual guns, drugs, and alcohol, you see in all gangsta movies. Some acting skills need some tuning but Hype put his touch on it which made it unique, the story was somewhat unoriginal but it ended on an uplifting note. Its definitely a good movie to see
Rating: Summary: Beautiful Review: What makes "Belly" one of my favorite movies of the yearis the visuals. I was expecting a movie-length version of thevideo's Hype Williams was originally known for, but fortunately was proved wrong. Most of the movie is filmed almost in the dark with sparse lighting on just the actors or a small part of the frame and makes the viewer's imagination fill in the rest. The interiors and exteriors that are well-lighted are much more grand than would ever appear in real life, but are never unbelievable or gratuitous. Overall, the effect is a sort of impressionistic high-contrast effect as if things were filmed under a black light. The fact that some of the characters went by multiple names and keeping track of who was who required some effort made the story more compelling and added to the surreal feel of the movie that more than made up for any deficiencies in the plot. I've only seen this in a movie theater, so I can't say how well the magnificent visuals transfer to video. On an unrelated note, one theme throughout the movie that was kinda fresh was the complete anti-alcohol bias. First, the character played by Method Man is criticized for drinking a 40 oz., and is told that is something people did back in the 80's. Then, throughout the rest of the movie, just about every bad thing that happens to people happens when they're drunk.
