Summary: A beautiful story about love found in unexpected ways.
Review: "Love in the Afternoon" is a beautiful tale of a young woman,Audrey Hepburn, growing up in Paris and her father is a private eye who for years has been traching the affairs of a "Playboy", Gary Cooper. She has fallen in love with Cooper even before she has meet him, she sails into rescue him before on of his lovers husbands slices him open. Hepburn turns the tables on Cooper and becomes the mysteriouse woman/girl who will not fall under his spell. Cooper is taunted by the background that Hepburn gives to him relating her tales of torrid love affairs she has had over the years. Cooper finally doesn't know which way is up and needs to find out who this beautiful temptress really is. This movie is by far one of the best movies to see either Hepburn or Cooper in. Cooper may be a little on the older side for this role but then anyone opposite of Hepburn would look older than the forever young Hepburn. I highly recommend this movie.

Summary: Cute but superficial romance
Review: "Love in the Afternoon" is a cute but superficial romance. I realize that some elements of the film are intended as a satire on French cinema of the time, but Wilder went too far in a few instances, in my opinion.

Audrey Hepburn is beautiful, as always, in her excellent performance as a young music student who falls madly in love with American playboy Gary Cooper, a visitor in her native Paris. Both actors are elegantly funny and exchange witty banter, but a few elements of the relationship were quite disturbing and just TOO unrealistic. First, Cooper looks every bit of his 56 years, while Hepburn appears to be a college freshman. Second, why doesn't Cooper immediately realize that virginal Hepburn isn't the flighty young woman she claims to be? His ignorance is astounding. Third, the ending is just too over-the-top. This film was cute, especially watching Hepburn recount her many, many (fictional) affairs to a perplexed Cooper, but if you really want to see a good Hepburn romance, get "Roman Holiday" or "Breakfast at Tiffany's." Those two films top this one any day.

Summary: enh
Review: "Love in the Afternoon" was distracting at best, and banally charming at worst. It could barely hold my attention during dinner. The dialogue attempts to be the sort of heated exchange substituting for heated sex, but instead falls flat because the script is just simply trying too hard to capitalize on Audrey Hepburns' innate coquettishness. Enh. Nothing stood out about this movie.

Summary: May-December? Who cares?
Review: A lot of people criticise how old Gary Cooper is in this movie, but it certainly doesn't matter to me. This movie is all about Audrey Hepburn, and how sweet and charming and imaginative she could be. I'm so glad this movie is on DVD so I can skip ahead to my favorite parts when there is not enough time for the whole thing.

Summary: An innocent girl and the playboy-classic but charming
Review: A very experienced womaniser is rescued from a jealous husband by the innocent daughter of the detective hired by the husband. Then, of course the girl immediately falls for the playboy charms; champagne at Ritz, musicians, deluxe picnics, tux and gray hair with excellent manners. Nevertheless, the playboy slowly falls for the innocent looking girl who makes him jealous with stories of many other affairs which in fact just appears in the files of her father. This sounds so cliche and a bit triste, but the direction, the scene (Paris) and the actors are so good that I was romanced by the movie. The music-Fascination is just perfect. I also love the chello carrying Audrey with short hair and the mystery of "afternoon love" The ending, which is so critical in this type of movie cause could turn it into a stupid melodrama is well adjusted. Last words:I wish these classic playboys still existed and romanced me with private musicians

Summary: wouldnt have this movie any other way
Review: Another extraordinary Audrey Hepburn performance. The way she seems to captivate us just by simply not doing anything, and they zoom in her face and you just, your heart cant help but skip a beat. The way she plays with Gary Cooper's cahracter and with the audience makes you squeal like a pig.

Theres the theme of obsession and how shed stop at nothing to get Gary Coopers caharacter. Also, there is her father played Mr. Chevalier( spelled it wrong huh?) is a pleasant additon to the cast.

This is a love story in a most disgustingly guilty pleasure.
Watch it. For those of you who just cant get over that one person, maybe in High school, or now, it will spark fantasies of how u can follow audreys steps, to make that one person, fall in love with you: Just like how u fall in love with Audrey.

Summary: You'll love "Love in the Afternoon!"
Review: As the title says, you'll absolutely love this infectious romantic comedy starring Audrey Hepburn, Gary Cooper, and Maurice Chevalier. Hepburn plays an innocent girl Arianne who falls in love with American playboy, Frank Flanagan(Cooper). Arianne's father(Chevalier) is a detective specializing in extra marital affairs, and especially in those involving Mr. Frank Flanagan. With its twists and turns and lively Gypsy band, "Love in the Afternoon" is a film of wit, romance, and delightful music that will charm generations to come!

Summary: Beautifully Directed
Review: At first I thought the movie was a little slow-paced, but I kept watching because I love Hepburn and Cooper. Then I got frustrated that Hepburn's character would fall for such a slimeball. Who could fall for a man like that?!!! Then he began to charm me and I realized that women fall in love for no good reason a lot of the time. I was extremely amused at the way Hepburn's character could spin a good story and tell a believable bold-faced lie and make Cooper's character jealous. It became a hightly facinating story. I love how old movie can put sex so delicately into a film without having to show anyone undressed. The directing and story-telling is done extremely well. I was very moved as I watched a man unwillingly fall deeply in love. Something about the plot reminded me of the recent Down With Love movie. Although this is not a movie I would watch over and over, it is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

Summary: Audrey Hepburn and Gary Cooper do NOT make a good couple!
Review: Audrey Hepburn and Gary Cooper are wonderful actors but should never have been paired together. There should be a believeble age difference. Audrey's calling him the best looking man she'd ever seen is NOT believable. The plot is decent but I didn't like Cooper's gigilo character. Audrey is stunning as usual.
