Review: I watched this movie in school and there wasn't a single dry eye left when the movie was over. You really felt like you could relate to the men in the movie. It's got to be one of the best movies I have ever seen!! I recommend this to anyone.

Summary: Proud of these heroes
Review: I'm a white 64 year old Air Force veteran. Watching these heroes of WWII in dedicated, valorous performance, who never lost a bomber to the Nazis, brought tears and pride from me for them. For those still on the ground and for those still "On Patrol", thank you!

Summary: A History Lesson Long Overdue
Review: If one is looking for real American heroes, one need look no further than those proud pilots that formed the flying corps that graduated from historic Tuskegee State University,This excellently told and acted film highlights the tale through the use of exciting action sequences, revealing military settings, and bravura acting from an assemblage of some of finest actors on the contemporary scene. With such award-winning talent as Fishburne, Gooding, Braugher, Lithgow, the production can only be hailed as top-notch.
Supporting performances from Malcolm Jamal-Warner (Theo on "The Cosby Show"), Christopher McDonald ("Family Law"), Mekhi Phifer ("O"), Allen Payne ("A Perfect Storm") and Courtney B. Vance ("Law & Order: Criminal Intent") and Viveca A. Fox ("Independence Day") only add to the acting dynamic. 9/11 has made it imperative that we look at those individuals that contributed magnificently to this country's success in time of crisis. The Tuskegee Airmen were an integral part of that story.

Summary: American History at its very best
Review: The story of the magnificent 332nd Fighter Group is woven into a dramatic tapestry of the horror of war and the disjointed approach of many Americans to a difficult time and a situation many would have preferred to ignore. The performance of the pilots who graduated the Tuskegee Training Program (they NEVER lost an escorted bomber to enemy action!) unfolds against the backdrop of misunderstanding, racism and political machinations that nearly destroyed the entire enterprise. This film does a magnificent job of telling the tale without being melodramatic, preachy or snide, but does full justice to the accomplishments of the pilots and their eventual victory against both German pilots and their own nation's refusal to recognize their talents. For the student of World War II, this is a well-known and much-respected story. For the student of African-American History, it is a tale of pride which shines as brightly as the stars on the American Flag these men so courageously defended. Fishburn and Cuba Gooding are superior as men caught between their own humanity and the de-humanizing effects of war. If ever a film deserve a 5-Star rating, this one does.

Summary: Outstanding film about outstanding men! Long overdue!
Review: This film is long overdue! The Tuskegee Airmen were one of the bravest groups of men to ever grace the uniformed services. They fought so much than just the "official" enemy. They fought racism on levels that most of us can never comprehend. Imagine the stress they must have been under at all times. Yet, they still took a stand for their country and changed things for all of us, regardless of race. These men have been so under-appreciated by the country, and especially by our home state, Alabama. This movie should be incorporated into every Alabama history class in the state and every American hstory class in the country. It is an outstanding movie about an outstanding group of men. Every American should own it! Note: In spite of what others may feel about the bravery and "kill counts" of the German fliers, the 332nd never lost a bomber that they were assigned to escort and even saved a few that they were not assigned to escort! Talk is cheap when there is documented proof! The Tuskegee Airmen rocked!

Review: This is a very touching potrayal of what these brave young men had to endure.From racism given on all sides of the line.I found it very interesting and admirable to find out that the 332nd air fleet never lost a bomber to enemie fire.If you are a black history buff,this is a video that you should not overlook.

Review: this is an awesome movie!!!! even if ur not african american u can still relate to it! i think the way the men from tusgeegee were first treated was very wrong!! but then in the end they got what they deserved! i think this is among the best movies! it's right up there with titanic and tarzan! it doesn't deserve anything less than five stars!!!!

Summary: Excellent portrayal of courage regardless of race.
Review: This is an inspiring movie about how African-American pilots overcame great odds on and off the battlefield. I have seen many war movies and this is one of the best, especially since it is based on a true story. Until I saw this movie, I wasn't aware of the great achievements of these pilots during WWII. This movie is definitely a testimony to the fact that courage is not dependent upon a person's color.

Review: This movie not only addresses the tragedy and patriotism of those of served our country in WWII, but in brings to light the discrimination that was also a very real part of the existence of our black american heroes. This movie is not what I originally feared it would be, a typical portrayl of the oppresive white man keeping the black man down. It showed the courage and tenacity of a group of Americans (in the case African Americans) who fought and died for their country in the war to end all wars. The storyline follows a group of black pilots who not only bring honor and pride to themselves, but their country. They lived the motto, "My country, right or wrong, my country." It didn't matter that these men were discriminated against because they were black, they did the job that had to be done and they did it well. What more can we ask of any American? Watch this movie for the accurate history it portrays, not only in the struggle for equality in our country, but for all the guts and glory of those fighting men we owe our very freedom to today. Summary: Great movie
Review: When I was in high school, they had a play about the Tuskegee Airmen and I didn't get to see it because I let my personal issues get in the way of learning about the black experience in the military. I saw it on the History Channel and am proud to be an African-American. We have fought in America's wars and have been given little, if any credit for our bravery and defending our country. September 11th is a reminder for everyone to wake up and realize that we, as people of all backgrounds have fought to preserve this country and "The Tuskegee Airman" proves that.
