Summary: beautiful and brilliant
Review: i saw this movie about a year ago..and it has yet to leave my head. in fact, that's why i'm buying it. this is truly a movie that can transcend racial and ethnic boundaries to focus on what is important in life: love. oh, and poetry.:-) through the brilliant use of spoken word, this age-old love story is told, and if you're not moved by it, then you obviously don't have a heart, mind, and soul. this movie is brilliant lyrically and cinematographically. have i mentioned i'm a suburban white kid? no joke. i'm a performance artists..or at least i try to be...and never before have i seen a movie that captures the beauty of spoken word art, love, and the relation between the two. whether the characters in this movie were black, white, asian, or alien, the heart in the story is still the same.

Review: This movie is pretty much off the chain...very good cast, intellectual blacks (finally, real life leaking into hollywood!), and you can't go wrong with a romance movie set in Chicago...the city of soul...if you haven't seen it check it..you won't regret!

Review: This movie is no less then fantastic and one of my all time favorites. It is defintely worth seeing. Anyone that says this isn't a great movie is crazy. I loved the poetry, the music, the story line, all of it! I can watch it again and again and never get tired of it. But you don't have to believe me see Love Jones for yourself, I guarantee you won't regret it.

Summary: Skip the movie, buy the soundtrack!
Review: Although the movie was shot beautifully, it was too simplistic and dull. It contained a plot with nothing more than just two childish people playing games with each other in a very uninteresting relationship. The supporting actors, who seemed more interesting than Nia and Larenz characters, were wasted and might as well have been cast as extras since thier appearences were so brief. Not that it would help this picture much, but as much as I love Larenz Tate, that role was crying for someone who can carry on as a romantic leading man such as Mikhal Phiffer *I hope I spelled that name right* Like my caption says, skip this video and PICK UP THAT SOUNDTRACK!

Summary: Black Love on the Screen is Needed More
Review: i really enjoyed this film.i liked the Chemistry of Nia Long&Larenz Tate.i feel Tate is very underrated.Nia always gives a solid performance.and she looks good as well.it was refreshing to see African-Americans doing well and Living like any other Human Being.that alone makes this film Genius.good direction.Bill Bellamy was cool in the film.the Poems were hit&miss but overall great film and very underrated.

Review: I was blown away by this movie mostly because it was a refreshing break from the typical "hood" movie often put out by black directors. The story was intelligent and had a whole different "vibe" to it. Long and Tate were superb and more importantly, "real". I could definitely relate. I'm a typical guy who doesn't like to get caught up in the "mushy" movies, but this boy-meets-girl story is pretty cool. The scene at the end is the bomb. It's sort of like our version of Casablanca. I HIGHLY recommend it.

Review: I absolutely loved this movie. Nia Long and Larenz Tate had an undeniable chemistry. Nia long did a superb job. If this movie had of been marketed better, I think it would have done better at the box office. It truly was a fantastic display of love, desire, and friendship. I wish Nia Long and Larenz Tate had received more recognition for their roles in this movie--they certainly deserved more than what they received. I hope new line cinema makes another movie starring these two actors. I know I would be the first one in line to see it and so would many other people.

Review: still one of the best movies that never made it to singapore. it is smart, it is sexy, very delicately filmed and spot-on casting. nia long and larenz tate were perfect in what should've been star making roles. watch this movie a few times and realise the tight references within the dialogue and the images. and it has one of, if not the best, r&b-accompanying soundtracks ever. definitely on my desert island list!
