Rating: Summary: A disappointment Review: ...Sure, the surfing footages are gorgeous and inspiring, but as a movie trying to convey the soul of surfing, it fails. Most scenes and situations bordered between the absurd and laughable, as was the dialogue. I found myself wishing the filmmakers wouldn't take themselves too seriously. I've never ridden on a surfboard in my life but I understand what surfing can mean to those who love it so much: adventure, camraderie, communion with nature, sacrafice, obssession, pure excitement and joy, etc. Somehow Bruce Brown's The Endless Summer mangaged to say all that and more about surfing with so much less. Mahalo.
Rating: Summary: Decent Flick, Great Surfing Review: I bought this movie for my 10 year old son, as he absolutley loves this movie. I watched it with him a couple of times and have enjoyed it each time. The surfing and scenery are spectacular while the acting leaves little to be desired. I do like some of the philosphies they espouse, of course these are the lines my son has memorized and walks around reciting. I would recommend this movie to any who enjoys surfing and the surf lifestyle.
Rating: Summary: CHEESE-Z, but a good laugh Review: Years later, my buds and I still laugh at cheesy quotes from this movie. It is kind of entertaining if you're into surfing, but definitely not worth seeing twice. The storyline doesn't make any sense and the characters are pathetic. You end up spending the whole movie trying to make sense of a plot that just doesn't. If you want to see surfing, just rent a good ol' fashion surf video. If you want a cheese-ball flick that you can make fun of forever and ever, buy this baby.
Rating: Summary: Cheezy Review: It is by far the worst surfing movie EVER. It does not even COMPARE to Endless Summer I and II. I am sure that there are surfers out there that can surf, act, as well as articulate. If only I can get back the time I spent watching this movie!
Rating: Summary: Awesome and Inspirational Review: This movie made me want to toss my career and buy a board- Though the acting was marginal and fantasylike, the surfing was magnificent and awe inspiring! I especially liked the way that 'fear' was portrayed and how you can't give in to it if you are a true adventurer- Great film- Excellent scenery- Don't miss it.
Rating: Summary: Surfing at it's best Review: I absolutely loved IN GOD'S HANDS, because it completely portrays the art and beauty of not only regular surfing but also big wave surfing, which in my mind are both incredible art forms.I also loved the coupling of Shane Dorian and Kelly Slater(only the two handsomest(is that even a word! ) surfers(also among the best!) that I have ever had tha chance to lay my eyes on. And remember, guy surfers are TIGHT, but wahines ROCK!
Rating: Summary: THE TRAILOR Review: I have seen the movie many times and enjoy the scenes and the music, I was wondering what music was used in the 2nd half of the trailor?
Rating: Summary: Excellent movie but where's the CD Review: I loved this movie. The scenes were spectacular and the surfing incredible. My question is, "Where can I get the soundtrack?"
Rating: Summary: Where's the CD Review: Excellent! But, I would love to have a sound track CD! Only saw the last 40 minutes and will definitely catch the rest.
Rating: Summary: In God's Hands takes you to another place! Review: What can I say, the waves are out of this world. The story line is easy to follow, however the dialog is lacking. The scenes are great, with various locations.
