Summary: Gag me with a lacy spoon
Review: "Oh, we're so Goth! Oh, we're so tragic! Love us! hate us! Fear us!"

My summary in a nutshell of IwaV. I had the misfortune of reading Anne Rice's novel before seeing this film, so I had an idea what was coming. Both Cruise and Pitt are horribly HORRIBLY miscast in their respective roles. Bandares is always a treat onscreen, and even *he* sucks as a vampire (no pun intended).

Short, short version: not worth it. Really.

Summary: SUPERB FILM!
Review: This has to be one of the greatest vampire films of all time. The vampires seemed so much more realistic than in other films I've seen. They don't turn into bats, they cut out a bunch of the cheesy myths and got right down to it! It is really neat to see a vampire film that stretches over time. Most of this movie we see the film take place in the 1700's & 1800's, then eventually into the 80's and mid-90's. It's cool to see the world change around the vampires and they must change with it.

All I have to say is they need a sequel to this movie! I have to admit most sequels are horrible, but there are a few exceptions & I think a sequel to this could be one of those exceptions!!

Summary: Best movie ever
Review: I have seen this movie at least 15 times. I love it. The characters are so realistic. Throughout the movie, you feel that you know the characters. You feel sorry for Lestat at the end and you feel happy that Louis has found peace with himself. The acting is terrific, and so is the dialouge. Doesn't follow the book perfectly, but still a great movie that everyone should own.

Summary: bloody good job
Review: A very powerful horror drama! All the actors should've been nominated for Oscars. The set design was first rate, and the music was eerie. I hated the Axl Rose song during the end credits but it is a minor flaw.

Summary: Why?
Review: How I couldn't wait for this movie! How I couldn't wait for it to end once I saw it!

Tom Cruise makes a BAD blonde and is no Lestat. Brad Pitt is so lifeless you belive he really is the undead! Kirsten Dunst: Go Kirsten! The only good one in the film.

Did you ever realize that Antonio Banderas could look like Eddie Munster?

HELP!

Summary: A visual feast for the eyes
Review: When I first heard the news of Ann Rice's book being made into a movie, I thought what a shame to belittle such beautiful work. Still I went the opening night and found myself utterly in love with Louis....What a wonderful potrayal of sadness and regret. Lestat, the arogant and handsome self proclaimed master of vampires, done so nicely. The two things that bothered me most were Claudia's age-she was 6 in the book, and Armand who took me so by surprise that I laughed. But he was refreshing and sexy as an older vampire. The music was simply wonderful, the scenary beautiful and I think they put on film all they could for a two hour movie. Sometimes less is more.

Summary: Not your average vampire movie.
Review: A very fine film. I'm lucky in that I watched the movie before reading the book. Watching the movie prompted me to read Rice's novel, but she has a way of dragging things on. The movie tells the story while leaving out the boring parts.

What I most enjoy about this film is that it deals with the morallity of vampires. Most vampire flicks just show a lot of blood and fangs, and bore me to tears. But Interview with the Vampire takes you to a much more serious level.

Also, I must add how much I enjoyed the acting. This is the first movie I've seen with Brad Pitt. I used to think that he was just another pretty face without talent. But I was convinced otherwise after watching this film. You really feel for his charater throughout the movie. However, I was most surprised by Kirsten Dunst's performance. She was only around twelve when she did this movie, and she was magnificent.

Once again, it's a great movie. Just don't watch it expecting to see a lot of mindless gore.

Summary: It inspired me to read the entire series!
Review: After watching this movie, I just had to find every work Mrs. Rice has published! The acting was superb. Kirsten plays a stunning Claudia, and Brad held a convincing image of a tourtured Louis flawlessly! My only complaint was that they should have kept the Babbette storyline true to the book.

Summary: Not the best vampire movie!
Review: It's a good vampire movie, but i agree with the person who thinks The Lost Boys was much better than this one, even more if we consider the time The Lost Boys was made, in 1987, certanly very modern for it's time. There are some elements in Interview With the Vampire which were clearly copy from The Lost Boys, specially the climax confront between Lestat and Louis, not as good as the confront from Lost Boys- Kiefer Sutherland and Jason Patric, setting as the good vampire and the bad one. Two tumbs up for Interview..., but all tumbs up for The Lost Boys!!!!

Summary: my all time favorite
Review: i love this movie!!! i saw it for the first time when i was younger...alot younger. and never stopped thinking about it. i bought as soon as i saw it. Kirsten Dunst does a excellent job convincing you that she is a women inside a girl's body. Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise delivered their best performances of their careers. it's a shame that Oscars weren't given for the actors in this movie. i could NEVER get tired of it. and i've read the book two or three times and it's a shame they had to cut out a lot of the parts. but the movie is the best in the business and years later not even the Titanic can beat this movie. I LOVE IT!!!!! p.s. these vampires are way more realistic than Dracula and Transylvania
