Summary: Good Stuff, But lacking in extras (DVD)....
Review: In a word, This movie was fun. The DVD of this movie was a little light on the extras, but the DVD itself was good; The sound was good, and there were no major quite parts that would jump to a loud part...but was good as a whole.

The movie itself was a fun movie, and not to give too much away, someone has stolen a picture and its a cat and mouse game between the 2 main characters, Rene R and Pierce B. It evolves into an intriguing plot that answers all your questions by the end of the film. The movie moved good and there was a dry spot in it for me right in the middle, but picks up fast in the last 20 minutes...

In all, id say rent the DVD before you by it. If you saw this movie and want it for your collection, get it. If you never seen it, rent it first, and then think about it. I am one of those that will only buy a DVD if it has extras that the VHS doesnt have, or a 'joe favorite', and for me, this was neither...sorry Amazon...mabey when Star Wars comes out... :)

Summary: "'Think you can get me ?"
Review: High quality DVD !

As I watched again and again the (new) Thomas Crown Affair, I realize I came to enjoy it more and more. Dense entertainment: action, tumultuous and steamy romance, inspired direction from McTiernan ("Die Hard", "The Hunt for Red October"), and appropriate musical score. Good performances from Brosnan, Russo and Leary. A tour-de-force for Rene Russo ("tougher" in her portrayal of the insurance agent than Faye Dunaway in the original affair), considering the fact that in real life she is very much unlike the character she plays in this movie (see Russo's press and TV interviews). Kudos for Pierce Brosnan - much better and diversified delivery here than in all his three James Bond impersonations. (The wonder of the last 007, "The World Is Not Enough", is Sophie Marceau - not just good looking, but a good actress !)

No, I am not saying we should ever go out steal Manet, Monet, Degas, ... as a passe-temps, but, we do like this film because no matter who we are, deep-down in our subconscious mind lies the desire to be successful, which, somehow means being wealthy enough to allow us to indulge, satisfy all our needs, whims, and caprices, to be "rewarded" with an absorbing and adventurous life.

Pierce Brosnan and Renee Russo's affair is, perhaps, more alert, technical, and graphic (adapted for the 90's) than the original one involving Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway. I have distinct praise for the 99 rendition of this fantasy, but I believe Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway are better actors (watch their other films), and their 68 performance is just better. Do not trust me ! Watch both films on DVD or VHS, and decide. Steve McQueen has presence, is sure of himself (that is what makes a man sexy !), and Faye Dunaway does not have to wear a see-through dress to make us feel she is sophisticated, beautiful, and desirable. The dialogues there are shorter, sparse, and to the point. Exquisite direction (and good use of the split-screen tech) from Norman Jewison teaming with Michel Legrand who raved us with the Oscar winner "Windmills of My Mind". The 68 "chess seduction scene" (subtle touching, teasing, warm eyes) has no equal in the 99 film, and the "chemistry" between the characters played by McQueen and Dunaway is more intense.

There is more entertainment packed in the 99 film, while there is more film in the 68 entertainment ! Enjoy both affairs !

Summary: No crown for this affair
Review: My wife and I used our free PPV coupon from our new cable TV serice to see "The Thomas Crown Affair," and we didn't get much for our money. Pierce Brosnan thought he was still playing James Bond, and Renee Russo's nude body failed to stir any lustful, let alone romantic, impulses in either of us. The story line was none too clear, the life-style of the rich none too attractive, and the net effect was to make us wonder what gimmick these two hedonists would have to think up next if their affair were to last another week. All in all, this was "an affair not to remember."

Summary: One of the best movies ever seen
Review: Ok, I always liked Brosman and Russo, but in this one, they were just perfect. All the movie was perfect. you can`t stop thinking of it. It`s brilliant. And I didn`t see the original version, but this one, i`m assure you, it can`t be bettter.

Summary: Brosnan, not Bond
Review: manymanymany people have told me,"Thomas Crown Affair wasn't very good, there was no killing, or big explosions, what were they thinking when they made a movie without that! " iam the biggest bond fan in the world, and the character bond has it's ups and it's downs, a major down is , once your bond, your always bond. Pierce Brosnan can't do a nonbond movie without everyone thinking he's bond. NO Thomas Crown Affair wasn't packed full of stunts and explosions and catch phrashes, but it was an extremely smart, and a great movie. Brosnan was in Mrs. Doubtfire before bond REMEMBER: Brosnan is not Bond there is a difference.

Summary: Witty, grown-up, fun
Review: Smart, charming movie with plenty of wonderful twists and turns. The love scenes were steamy, but tastefully done (by today's standards at least). The pace never bored me. Grown-up dialog that did not have to resort to vulgarity to stress a point or attempt to buy-in to "realistic talk." After watching the rental DVD of this movie we went out and bought a copy for ourselves.

Summary: Super Sexy Movie!
Review: Fist off I have to say I'm not a fan of Pierce Brosnan at all. So actually I didn't expect to like this movie. But to be honest I loved it! Pierce Brosnan surprised me, I actually enjoyed him with Rene Russo. They make a good likeable pair. And those super hot sex scenes! Oh my gosh! This movie held me from the get go wondering what Thomas Crown was up to. The cat and mouse between Brosnan and Russo only thickened the plot. And the ending was a wonderful explosion! All around I loved this movie.

Summary: Good movie......BUT.....
Review: Yeah, it was an entertaining movie. But I just want to say that Rene Russo is a withering old broad, and seeing her wrinkled body half-naked was QUITE the turn-off. AND I hope she reads this!

Summary: a great evening's entertainment
Review: NOT a deep thinking type of film, which will appeal to anyonewanting an evening of light entertainment. (FYI - that's my style. Ihate being enlightened, educated, or preached to by Hollywood.)

There are enough clever tricks and twists in the plot to keep your attention, though it's not a classic suspense thriller by any means, and the acting is adequate if not inspired. (Dennis Leary does do a great job with his role, which is a delicate balance of someone you hope succeeds while hoping he fails.)

Good surprise: the soundtrack is excellent. It supports many critical scenes in the movie, and you'll want to buy the CD.

Bad surprise: there is enough nudity and sexual content that you'll want to exclude many younger viewers who would otherwise enjoy the film. That's a shame since it's not strictly necessary to the plot.

Summary: Brosnan Breaks Loose
Review: Pierce Brosnan heats up the screen with Rene Russo in this hot little remake. Although Bond-esque characteristics are present, Brosnan delivers a look at his corrupt and witty side as an actor. Rooting for the the bad guy has never been so fun. Russo and Brosnan are both sexy and intriguing in this passion driven film.
