Summary: This movie makes me want to be an alcoholic
Review: The brilliance of the subtext of the mise-en-scene that can only be described as "Cameronian" contains magical attempts at recreating the atmospheric retro-diegetic which naturally creates an impending dialogue between the film and Welles' "The Magnificent Ambersons" for obvious reasons that are too miniscule to discuss here. The delicate inbalance between tension in form and looseness in style can best be described as octavian in its mirror-like function as both the signifier and the signified, representing a subtext that relies on not only a working knowledge of frame of reference in terms of the working axis of familiarization in visual poetics but also along the same lines as a chrystalis from unison of sound and substance (as defined in terms of moral vs. mere action), which is best seen in the scene when the girl gets naked in front of leo. i must be weary of course because the logical compulsion is to label the film in terms of a kind of kafkaesque melodramatic pseudocomedic tendencies of either a Kubrick or a Wenders, but the real truth is that Titanic, despite its obvious references to depth of focal objectification in the Bazanian sense of the phrase with its constant attempts at redefining what the frame of reference should be for the moviegoer (an effect that can only be called perhaps neo-confucian bolshevism in terms of its political and philosophical subtext), should be called a film about the consideration of the very word "pathos" in the context of post-modernistic visual collage. The temporal symbiosis of both young and old best represents the duality within Cameron's work in general (think of the dual terminators, or perhaps the duality between the regular and the mutated pirahnas in Pirahna part 2: THE SPAWNING). thus, Titanic must be seen in this context. otherwise, don't even bother to watch it because you won't understand it at all.

Review: This was a terrible movie. My brother wrote a book on Leonardo DiCaprio (published only in England) and when researching it, he thought he should see "Titanic." He asked my sister about it, and she said, "`Titanic' was so bad, I stopped the videotape before it was half done. I couldn't stand to watch it anymore." My brother asked other people. They told him don't watch it. I told him don't watch it. So he wrote a book on Leonardo DiCaprio without seeing "Titanic." The book sold well, anyway. So he saved himself three hours. (As I write this, I see that there are 1060 reviews for `Titanic', the most successful movie in history. But I see at "The Matrix" page that it has 1789 reviews. Which tells me that "The Martix is a much better movie. Which I agree with. See "the Matrix" before wasting your time on "Titanic.")

Summary: Film at its best.
Review: Pure and simple, the best film I have ever seen. It took me two years to even see it on video because I didn't want the memory of seeing it in the theater tarnished. It didn't. If anything, it appeased me, because I had the idea I was attributing too much into it. Is it incorrect to call the film simple? I just find it direct and true and leaving the theater I had a feeling I rarely have (it happened with "The English Patient"), "this is what movies are for," to transport its audience to a completely different world, and to make them empathize with people legions away from our own reality, but unforgettable in their fragile humanity.

Summary: Bad story aside, Titanic loses alot on the small screen
Review: If you're a Titanic-ophile like me, you loved the historical detail and accuracy of this movie in the theaters. Unfortunately, most of those scenes (most notably the radio room and bridge scenes) were cut out of the home version and we're left with the dreadful dialog and poor acting of the two main characters who represent two of the most self-absorbed and immoral people movie audiences have ever had the misfortune of being subjected to, not to mention the foul-mouthed crew in the contemporary scenes. The movie's imagery loses a great deal of it's impact on the small screen, though it's still a marvelous trip to the Titanic itself. It's just a shame we're forced to go aboard with Jack and Rose.

Summary: JUST DOESN'T CUT IT!
Review: WHEN DEALING WITH A MOVIE LIKE THIS, YOU HAVE TO BE REALISTIC. I MEAN, COME ON, YOU HONESTLY THINK THAT ROSE LOOKED SEVENTEEN? YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE JACK WAS THE HERO? YOU HONESTLY BELIEVE TWO PEOPLE FROM DIFFERENT SOCIAL CLASSES IN REAL LIFE COULD HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE JUST LIKE THAT? AND DO YOU HONESTLY THINK A SEVENTEEN (SUPPOSEDLY) YEAR OLD GIRL WOULD WANT TO COMMIT SUICIDE AFTER HAVING ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD? NO WAY! THIS FILM WAS JUST TOOOO UNREALISTIC. IT DIDN'T CUT IT! THIS IS A FILM WITH MANY, MANY FLAWS WHICH UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD BE EVEN CLOSELY CONSIDERED TO BE BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME! I MEAN, THE DISASTROUS SINKING OF A SHIP THAT KILLED OVER A THOUSAND PEOPLE DOES NOT GO WELL WITH A CHEAP AND FAKE LOVE STORY.

*AND DON'T THINK I DON'T BELIEVE IN LOVE, CAUSE I DO. I JUST DON'T BELIEVE IN A LOVE THAT NEVER WAS.

Summary: Believe it or not, I actually liked it
Review: This has to go down in history as the biggest movie of last millenium. At the time of its release, and even to this day, it was the most expensive, biggest grossing movie of all time. On top of that, it tied the record for most academy award wins. Now this should guarantee that EVERYBODY should have been blown away by it. And I must admit that I enjoyed the normally barf-worthy romance of the story, even though there were some idiotic scenes (the spitting? ). Of course, the romance isn't REALLY what the movie is about. It was just meant to develop a classically tragic storyline, just showing how impactful the event really was. Without the first half, the second half could not have worked, because without it, the audience wouldn't care about a sinking boat. The visual effects are eye popping, and the direction is magnificent. At 194 minutes long, you'd think it runs way too long - it doesn't. When all is said and done, it's a great way to kill three hours of time. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll hurl, you'll forget about it in three months.

Summary: Not as great as it was at the cinema
Review: OK, first of all I don't understand why this movie got so much attention, I mean, at the cinema it was like... Oh.. wow... great... stunning, but when I watched it at home, it was not as fantastic as I remembered it being, in fact, I am now ashamed that I actually have it! Kate Winslet is a really fabulous actress and she does a fantastic job, but... no this movie is NOT something I would have recommended. If you want a STUNNING film, a romantic film, I highly recommend "A room with a view", it is simply stunning!

Review: This movie is purely an undiluted Cameron classic, with a young romance on the ill-fated Titanic that lasts forever. This is very good. I laughed, I cried... wonderful. Rated PG-13 for language, nudity, and disaster-related violence.

Review: Whoever says TITANIC isn't good hasn't seen all of it.I know some people who don't like it because it's long but they are just immature.I love it because it's so moving.It takes me to a place I've never been.It's so sad and special.Especially at the end when they showed Rose's pictures and she was on the horse and the rollcoasters in the background when she could have done it with Jack.But it's reallyabout survival.She DID go on! And had children and grandchildren and got married.And I loved the acting.And honestly I don't think it's fair that they would alway's leave out Cal(Billy Zane)in an nterview.He did us aswell as Leonardo and Kate.

Review: Titanic was an alright movie. The story line is fairly interesting. However, Leonardo is way to young and one can only get sick since Winslet looks twice as old as he does in the movie and therfore the romance becomes very akward.
